Body Camera Diagram
The body camera features an LCD screen at the top. Below the screen are the panic/pre-record button, the record button, and the function button. The front of the camera has a central ring with the HALO logo and 'VIDEO AUDIO' text. On the side, there is a USB-C port, a SIM tray, an LED light ring, and a power button. The camera is shown placed in a single dock.
Display Screen
The display screen shows various status indicators. When the camera is turned on, the display can be brightened by tapping the power button on the side. An example display shows: 4G signal strength ?, 'LIVE' status ▶️, storage capacity 57/58GB, date and time 2019/12/25-10:31:45, and resolution 1080P.

Turning the Camera On/Off
To Turn On:
- Hold the power button for three seconds.
- The camera will vibrate, and the HALO logo will appear on the display screen.
- The light ring on the front will change to solid blue.
To Power Down:
- Hold the power button for three seconds.
- The camera will vibrate, the HALO logo will appear, and the display will turn off.
- The blue light ring will also turn off.
Capturing Footage
To Record Footage:
- Single press the Record button.
- The light ring will start to pulse blue.
- The camera will vibrate, and a counter (time) will appear on the screen.
To Stop Recording:
- Single press the Record button.
- The light ring will stop pulsing blue.
- The counter on screen will disappear.
WiFi Connectivity
- Body cameras are pre-configured with SSID and password for automatic connection to access points.
- Connection can also be made using WPS (if enabled).
- If disconnected from WiFi, a specific symbol ? will appear.
- Connected status is indicated by WiFi bars changing from grey to white, showing signal strength. A full display of white bars indicates a strong signal.
Storage
- Each Horizon body camera has 58GB of available storage.
- The display shows remaining storage and total storage (e.g., 2/58GB).
- '2' indicates storage left to use; '58GB' is the total capacity.
Pre-recording
- When pre-record is active, a red 'P' symbol ?[P] appears on the camera screen.
- Pre-record can be activated and deactivated by the user, depending on configuration.
- To activate: Hold the 'P' button (function button) on the side of the camera.
Charging
- The docking station provides fast charging and wired internet connection via RJ45 cable.
- Magnets assist in correctly placing the camera in the dock.
- Place the camera in a single or multi-dock charger.
- The battery symbol ? on the screen animates to show charging progress.
- While charging, the front ring flashes white.
- When fully charged, the LED ring is solid white.
- If no lights are visible, check power supply and cable connections.
Multidock Internet Connectivity
- The docking station has 2 RJ45 ports for internet connection to the camera or for daisy-chaining to other multidocks.
- When docked without an IP address, a symbol ? [E] appears.
- After connecting an RJ45 cable or a few seconds in the dock, the symbol changes to green ? [E], indicating an IP address has been obtained.
Function Button
- The function button (FN) is on the side of the camera and can be configured for various features.
- Video Tagging: By default, pressing the FN button during recording tags the footage as evidential. The camera vibrates and informs Halo Vault upon upload.
- WPS: If enabled, pressing the FN button for one second activates WPS. The screen displays 'WPS Active'. WPS remains active for 60 seconds before turning off automatically. Refer to the WPS instructions manual for more details.
Footage Upload
- Body cameras have automatic footage upload capabilities via WiFi or RJ45.
- The camera checks for footage every minute.
- The screen updates within approximately 10 seconds to show upload progress (e.g., file 6 of 10 uploaded).
- Upload progress for individual files is shown (e.g., 59% complete).
- Files are deleted from the camera after successful upload (100%) and are available in HALO Vault.
Live Stream
- Horizon body cameras support Live Streaming via WiFi and 4G.
- Once activated, a 'LIVE' symbol ▶️ appears on the screen.
- Activating Live Stream: Hold the record button for 3 seconds. The camera vibrates, and the Live stream symbol appears.
- Deactivating Live Stream: Hold the record button for 3 seconds. The camera vibrates, and the Live stream symbol disappears.
GPS
- Body cameras can record GPS coordinates for every video frame by default.
- If the GPS signal is low (e.g., indoors), location data may not be recorded, and the GPS symbol ? will be grey.
- When the GPS signal is strong, the symbol turns green ?, indicating coordinates are being recorded and burned onto video frames.
