Getting Started
This guide provides essential steps to set up and begin using your HUAWEI Mobile WiFi device.
Installation
Install your SIM card and optional microSD card into the device.
- Follow the diagrams to insert the SIM card correctly.
- Insert the microSD card (optional) if needed.
Wi-Fi Connection
Connect your devices to the Mobile WiFi network.
The default network name (SSID) and Wi-Fi key are displayed on the device screen. It is strongly recommended to change these for security.
HUAWEI HiLink App & Web Interface
Manage your Mobile WiFi using the HUAWEI HiLink app or the web interface.
Download the HUAWEI HiLink app for mobile management. Alternatively, access the web interface at http://192.168.8.1. The default username and password is 'admin'.
Wi-Fi Extender (Optional)
Enhance your Wi-Fi coverage by using the Wi-Fi extender feature. This connects your Mobile WiFi to existing Wi-Fi networks to reduce mobile data usage.
- In the HUAWEI HiLink app, navigate to Settings and enable the Wi-Fi extender feature.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
When enabled, your Mobile WiFi will automatically connect to known Wi-Fi networks.
Appearance and Controls
Familiarize yourself with the device's buttons and ports:
- POWER button: Press and hold to turn the device on or off.
- MENU button: Press to display the menu.
- RESET button: Press and hold to restore the device to its factory settings. This is useful if you forget your username, password, or SSID.
- MICRO USB port: For charging the device.
Charging
Charge your Mobile WiFi using a compatible charger. The charger is an optional accessory; contact an authorized retailer for purchase.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Device not responding: Try restarting or restoring to factory settings.
- Intermittent connection: The Wi-Fi auto-off feature may be active to save power. Press the POWER button or disable the feature in the HiLink app/web interface.
- Cannot connect to network: Ensure the PIN verification feature is disabled or enter the correct PIN.
- Cannot access web interface: An IP address conflict may have occurred. Try accessing via 192.168.9.1 or check the device's LCD screen for the correct IP.
- Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged.
- Device powering off suddenly: This may be due to overheating. Ensure proper ventilation and allow the device to cool down.
