General Appliance Warranty
Miele & Cie. KG provides warranty coverage for new appliances, in addition to statutory claims against the seller.
Duration and Start of Warranty
- Domestic Appliances: 24 months from the date of purchase, assuming proper use.
- Professional Appliances: 12 months from the date of purchase, assuming proper use.
- The warranty period begins on the date of purchase.
- Warranty services or replacements do not extend the original warranty period.
Warranty Conditions
- The appliance must be purchased from an authorized Miele dealer or distributor in the country of residence or directly from the factory.
- Installation and services must be performed by a Miele-authorized service agent.
- Proof of warranty (e.g., purchase invoice) must be presented upon request.
Content and Scope of Warranty
Miele will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective parts free of charge. Miele covers necessary expenses such as transport, labor, and replacement parts. Replaced parts become the property of Miele.
This warranty does not cover further claims for damages against Miele, except in cases of gross or willful negligence by the authorized service agent. Claims for depreciation, third-party repairs, or damaged laundry are excluded.
Consumables and accessories are not covered by this warranty.
Exclusions from Warranty
The warranty does not cover faults or defects resulting from:
- Improper installation or setup, including non-compliance with safety regulations or written instructions.
- Improper use, operation, or strain, such as using unsuitable detergents or chemicals.
- Use of appliances with specifications different from the country of purchase, leading to usability restrictions.
- External factors: transport damage, impact, jolting, adverse weather conditions, or natural phenomena. (Specific exclusions apply to Outdoor Cooking appliances regarding extreme weather, insects, rodents, salty air, and chlorine sources).
- Repairs or modifications performed by unauthorized service agents.
- Use of non-genuine Miele spare parts or unauthorized accessories.
- Glass breakage and defective lamps.
- Power supply fluctuations exceeding manufacturer tolerances.
- Failure to perform maintenance and cleaning as per operating instructions.
- Usage-related and natural wear and tear, including decreasing battery performance or components requiring regular replacement. (Cosmetic deterioration, fading, and surface rust are also excluded for Outdoor Cooking appliances).
Water Protection Warranty
Miele offers a separate warranty for new appliances equipped with a water protection system.
Duration and Start
- Duration: 20 years from the date of purchase, assuming proper use.
- Warranty services do not extend the warranty period.
Conditions
- The appliance must be purchased from an authorized dealer or Miele and installed in a private household.
- Professional installation is required.
- Proof of purchase (invoice) must be presented.
Content and Scope
Miele compensates the buyer for material damages resulting from a defect in the appliance's water protection system. Compensation is based on the item's current value at the time of the incident and is limited to EUR 15,000.00 per incident.
This warranty does not cover further claims against Miele.
Exclusions from Water Protection Warranty
The water protection warranty does not cover damages to the water protection system or the appliance itself. Exclusions are similar to the general warranty, including:
- Improper installation or setup.
- Improper use or operation.
- Use in countries with different technical specifications.
- External factors (transport damage, weather, natural phenomena).
- Repairs or modifications by unauthorized service agents.
- Use of non-genuine Miele parts or unauthorized accessories.
