Miele Appliance Warranty Information

Australia / New Zealand Warranty

Miele products are subject to rigorous testing. Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality.

Domestic Products: Warranted free from defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from the date of delivery, settlement of development, or six months after practical completion of development.

Professional Products: Warranted free from defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from the date of delivery, settlement of development, or six months after practical completion of development.

Warranty Exclusions: This Miele warranty does not apply if the product is faulty due to factors other than material/workmanship defects. This includes, but is not limited to: misuse/neglect, use for unintended purposes, commercial use of domestic appliances, improper installation/use, operation after a defect, transit damage, environmental factors, unauthorized repair/modification, use of non-genuine Miele parts/accessories. Consumables like batteries, filters, or globes are also excluded.

How to Make a Warranty Claim: Conduct a basic product check. Notify Miele to arrange service. Provide the warranty card or proof of purchase. For floor care products, return to Miele or an authorized agent.

Service & Spare Parts: Miele endeavors to have spare parts available for at least five (5) years following product cessation. Contact Miele for details.

Governing Law: The agreement is subject to the laws of Victoria, Australia, or New Zealand.

Brazil Warranty (Condições Gerais de Garantia)

This warranty applies to Miele products purchased in Brazil.

Warranty Conditions: Miele do Brasil warrants products purchased directly from Miele Brazil, requiring installation by authorized agents.

Warranty Coverage: Miele do Brasil will replace defective parts and components free of charge (excluding transport costs, customs, and certain labor costs). Defective parts become Miele's property.

Warranty Exclusions: Excludes defects from improper installation, incorrect use, lack of cleaning/maintenance, normal wear parts (filters, bulbs, seals), improper transport, and unauthorized repairs.

Warranty Terms: The warranty is valid for 12 months (3 months by Consumer Defense Code + 9 months by Miele), starting from the delivery date. An extended warranty may be granted for installation delays.

Claims: Consumers should direct claims to an Authorized Miele Service Agent. Subsequent damage claims are not accepted.

Canada Limited Warranty

These warranty conditions are valid in Canada only.

Duration of Warranty:

• Domestic Appliances (Normal Use): 1 year for parts and labor. Specific extended warranties apply to Sealed Refrigeration Systems (5/10 years) and certain vacuum cleaner components (e.g., Vortex™ motor up to 7 years).
• Countertop Coffee Makers (CM): 2 years for domestic use (purchased on/after Jan 1, 2024), 1 year for earlier purchases. 6 months for commercial use.
• Vacuums: 1 year for upright, cordless stick, canister vacuums (parts/labor). Specific terms for motors and batteries. 6 months for commercial use.
• Commercial Appliances: 1 year (parts/labor within Miele Direct Service Area), 1 year (parts only outside). Extended terms for washers/dryers (3 years/4500 hrs) and frame/drum/motor (7 years/10500 hrs).

Commencement Date: Warranty coverage begins on the day of delivery. Replacement does not extend the original period.

Warranty Preconditions: Must be the original purchaser, product purchased from Miele or authorized dealer in Canada, installed by a qualified person, and product located in Canada.

Extent of Warranty: Miele will repair or replace defective products or parts.

Exclusions: Covers improper installation, non-compliance with instructions, non-genuine parts, unauthorized repairs, negligence, accident, abuse, misuse, power interruptions, natural disasters, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, etc.

Limitation of Liability: Miele disclaims other warranties. Liability is limited to the purchase price. No consequential damages.

Mexico Warranty (Póliza de Garantía)

This warranty covers Miele products purchased in Mexico.

Coverage and Period: Covers manufacturing defects in materials, labor, and parts for 2 years from the installation date.

Exclusions: Does not cover damage from conditions other than normal use, failure to follow instructions, unauthorized repairs, products not in original packaging with security seals, or deficient installation by non-authorized technicians.

Warranty Procedure: Present the defective appliance with the sealed warranty card to a Service Center. Transport costs for warranty service are included.

Other Exclusions: Miele disclaims other express or implied warranties.

USA Limited Warranty - Domestic Appliances

This warranty applies to Miele products purchased and installed in the USA or Puerto Rico from an Authorized Miele Dealer.

Warranty Period:

• Household/Personal Use: 2 years for parts and labor for most domestic appliances.
• Sealed Refrigeration Systems: 5 years for parts and labor; an additional 5 years for parts only (labor extra).
• Cosmetic Defects: 60 days for cosmetic issues.

Non-Applicability: Excludes improper installation, non-compliance with instructions, non-genuine parts, unauthorized repairs, negligence, accident, abuse, misuse, power issues, natural disasters, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, consumables, etc. Specific exclusions apply to vacuum cleaners and professional products.

Limitation of Liability: Miele's liability is limited to the purchase price. No consequential damages are covered.

Disputes: Claims are governed by New Jersey law.

USA Limited Warranty - Professional Appliances

This warranty applies to Miele Professional products installed in the USA or Puerto Rico by an authorized installer.

Warranty Period: Varies by product type and usage:

• Professional Appliances (Household/Personal/Marine Use): 2 years.
• Professional Appliances (Industrial/Commercial Use): 2 years.
• Professional Washers/Dryers (Industrial/Commercial): 3 years or 4,500 hours (whichever comes first).
• Frame, Drum, Bearings, Seals, Drive Motor for Professional Washers/Dryers: 7 years or 10,500 hours (parts only).

Non-Applicability: Excludes improper installation, non-compliance with instructions, non-genuine parts, unauthorized repairs, negligence, accident, abuse, misuse, power issues, natural disasters, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, consumables, etc. Specific exclusions apply to various professional product categories.

General Information

Product Registration: Miele encourages customers to register their products online or via mail for warranty purposes.

Proof of Purchase: Proof of purchase (invoice) is required for warranty claims.

Changes to Warranty: Miele reserves the right to change warranty terms without prior notice for future claims.
