General Warranty Terms
Miele provides a warranty for new appliances, supplementing statutory rights. This warranty covers defects arising from manufacturing or materials, subject to the terms and conditions outlined.
Warranty Duration
- Typically 24 months for domestic household appliances from the date of purchase.
- 12 months for professional or commercial use of the same appliances.
- Specific systems, such as water protection systems, may have extended warranty periods (e.g., 20 years).
- Certain components, like refrigerator compressors or dishwasher racks, may have longer warranty periods (e.g., 10 years) for repair or replacement.
What is Covered
Miele will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective parts free of charge within a reasonable timeframe after notification. All costs associated with warranty service, including travel, labor, and replacement parts, are covered by Miele. Replaced parts become the property of Miele.
Conditions for Claiming Warranty
- The appliance must have been purchased from an authorized Miele dealer or directly from Miele within the EU, UK, Switzerland, or Norway, and installed in the same region.
- Warranty service must be performed exclusively by Miele's after-sales service or an authorized Miele service partner.
- Proof of purchase (e.g., sales receipt or completed warranty card) must be presented upon request by a service technician.
- Professional installation may be a prerequisite for certain warranties (e.g., water protection systems).
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:
- Incorrect installation, setup, or failure to follow safety and operating instructions.
- Improper use, incorrect operation, or overloading of the appliance.
- Use of unsuitable detergents, cleaning agents, or chemicals.
- Damage caused by external factors such as transport, impact, shock, weather conditions, or natural disasters.
- Repairs or modifications performed by unauthorized service personnel.
- Use of non-original Miele spare parts or accessories.
- Glass breakage and defective light bulbs.
- Power surges or voltage fluctuations exceeding manufacturer specifications.
- Failure to perform regular maintenance and cleaning as per the user manual.
- Normal wear and tear, including reduced battery capacity or components requiring regular replacement as per the user manual.
