Sealey ES200 Under Vehicle Engine Support + Adaptors

1. Safety Instructions

• ⚠️ WARNING! Before use, ensure that the vehicle handbrake is on and that you have safe access to the underside of the vehicle.
• ⚠️ WARNING! Before use, ensure that the cross member on the underside of the vehicle to which you will mount the engine support is structurally sound and undamaged. Do not proceed if you are doubtful about the condition of the mounting area.
• ✔️ Maintain the engine support in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
• ✔️ Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
• ✔️ Ensure that there is adequate lighting.
• ❌ DO NOT attempt to modify another adaptor to fit.
• ❌ DO NOT use the engine support if damaged.
• ❌ DO NOT make any modifications to the engine support.
• ❌ DO NOT operate the engine support when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
• ❌ DO NOT use the engine support for a task it is not designed to perform.
• ❌ DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the engine support.
• ❌ DO NOT attempt to use an adaptor that does not fit properly.
• ✔️ Ensure that the floor beneath is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
• ✔️ Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.

2. Introduction & Applications

The ES200, together with its associated adaptors, supports or raises the engine from underneath during maintenance operations without the use of a trolley jack or conventional over-engine support beam. It allows unimpeded access to the engine from above and also permits safe movement of the vehicle whilst the engine is raised. Vehicle-specific adaptor sleeves mount onto the vehicle structure, and the base unit is then attached to the sleeve. The engine is raised by a screw-adjusted pad. The unit is ideal for rapid and safe cambelt changes, engine mount replacement, transmission removal, etc. The adaptor sleeves shown below are not supplied with the base unit and must be ordered separately.

3. Operating Instructions

View from front of vehicle (A): Illustrates the adaptor hook positioned over the vehicle's cross member.

View from rear of vehicle (B): Shows the adaptor clamped onto the cross member with a screw knob.

1. Obtain the correct adaptor for the vehicle you are working on. Do not attempt to use an adaptor that does not fit properly and do not attempt to modify another adaptor to fit.
2. Looking from the front of the vehicle, place the hook portion of the adaptor over the cross member near to the engine. The adaptor should be positioned facing front to back along the length of the vehicle as shown in figure A.
3. Lock the adaptor onto the vehicle cross member using the clamp and screw knob as shown in figure B. If necessary, move the adaptor sideways slightly on the cross member in order to get a good fit. Tighten the clamp ensuring that it is in contact with the cross member and the adaptor cannot move.
4. [C] Remove the locking pin from the base unit and insert the base unit itself into the open end of the adaptor as shown in figure C and slide it in until the holes in the sides of the base unit are aligned with the holes in the sides of the adaptor.
5. [D] Insert the locking pin through both the adaptor and the base unit and secure it with the [R-clip] provided on the chain, as shown in figure D.
6. [E] Rotate the 'T' handle clockwise until the lifting pad is in contact with the engine sump as shown in figure E. Guide the pad onto the sump to ensure that its full surface area is in contact with the engine.
7. If the unit is being used to support the engine only, do not over-tighten the 'T' handle as this will put a strain on the engine mountings.
8. If the unit is being used to raise the engine, then the engine mountings must be released before turning the 'T' handle further.

4. Maintenance

1. Keep the engine support clean and wipe off any oil or grease.
2. Lubricate the 'T' handle thread occasionally with a copper-based grease.
3. Before each use, check the condition of the main unit and adaptors. If any parts are damaged in any way, they should not be used.
