Choosing the Right Installation Location
Check Room Dimensions:
- Ensure at least 30 inches clearance from blade tip to nearest wall or obstruction.
- Ensure at least 7 feet clearance from the bottom edge of the blade to the floor.
Check the Outlet Box:
You must be able to secure the fan to the building structure or a fan-rated outlet box.
Checking the Ceiling Angle:
Standard Mounting (Flat Ceiling): Use a standard downrod. Some fans include a shorter downrod for low-profile installation.
Angled Mounting (Angled or Vaulted Ceiling):
- You will need a longer downrod (sold separately at HunterFan.com).
- If your ceiling angle is greater than 34°, you will also need an Angled Mounting Kit (sold separately at HunterFan.com).
A little more information on Angled Mounting: For optimum performance, use a longer downrod with high or angled ceilings. If the ceiling angle exceeds 34°, an Angled Mounting Kit is required. Longer downrods and Angled Mounting Kits are sold separately.
Hunter Pro Tip for Angled Mounting Kit: Fold the provided guide on the dotted line. Place the edge against the wall and slide towards the ceiling. If the guide touches the wall but not the ceiling, an angled mounting kit is needed.
Installing the Ceiling Bracket
Remove any existing bracket. Use only the provided Hunter ceiling bracket.
Do this first! ⚠️ WARNING: Disconnect power before installation.
Hunter Pro Tip: The machine screws are typically those that came with your outlet box.
Option 1: Machine Screws
Use machine screws (provided with outlet box) and washers when securing to an existing ceiling fan-rated outlet box. Ensure it is securely installed and acceptable for fan support of 31.8 kg (70 lbs).
Option 2: Wood Screws
Use wood screws and washers (included) when securing to a support structure with an approved electrical outlet box. Drill 9/64" pilot holes in the support structure to aid in securing the ceiling bracket with hardware from the ★ hardware bag.
Angled Mounting Tip: For angled ceilings, point the opening toward the peak.
Installing the Downrod
Follow these steps if using the pre-assembled downrod. For different lengths, refer to the end of the manual.
Steps 1-5: Remove standard downrod pipe.
Steps 6-10: Reassemble with new downrod.
Important:
- DO NOT REMOVE SETSCREW COMPLETELY: Back out the pre-installed setscrew so its threads are still engaged, but the shank does not obstruct downrod insertion.
- Pass all wires to one side of the horizontal bar in the downrod assembly.
- Hand tighten the downrod until it stops (at least 4-5 complete revolutions).
- Tighten the setscrew firmly with pliers. DO NOT HAND TIGHTEN.
⚠️ WARNING: FAN FALL HAZARD
- ALWAYS tighten setscrew with pliers.
- DO NOT hand tighten setscrew.
- CHECK setscrew tightness with pliers each time you change fan direction.
Trim wires coming from the fan so that 8 inches remain from the top of the downrod.
Hunter Pro Tip: The ground wire attached to the downrod is approximately 8 inches.
Note: Fan style may vary.
Hanging the Fan
Slide the canopy over the downrod and wires.
Place the downrod ball into the slot in the ceiling bracket.
NOTICE: To prevent damage to the fan, ALWAYS lift by holding either the fan housing or the downrod.
Progress Check: Your fan should look like the illustration.
Wiring the Fan
Follow these steps for quick and safe wiring. Contact a qualified electrician if you are unfamiliar with wiring.
You will need: 4 Wire Nuts (found in the ★ bag).
Hunter Pro Tip: Connecting Wires: Push bare metal ends together, slide wire nut over them, and twist clockwise until tight. Give a gentle pull to ensure wires are secure.
⚠️ WARNING: The ceiling fan must be grounded. If the ground wire is not present, STOP installation and consult a qualified electrician.
⚠️ WARNING: All wiring must comply with national and local electrical codes (ANSI/NFPA 70). Consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
Hunter Pro Tip: Managing Extra Wiring: Turn wires upward, push them back through the hanger bracket into the outlet box. Spread wires apart (grounded on one side, ungrounded on the other). Ensure wires remain attached to wire nuts.
Wiring Connections:
- Connect the black (ungrounded) wire from the ceiling to the black wire from the receiver.
- Connect the white (grounded) wire from the ceiling to both the white wire from the receiver and the white wire from the fan.
- Connect the yellow wire from the receiver to the black wire from the fan.
- Connect the blue wire from the receiver to the blue wire from the fan.
- Connect the three grounding wires (green, green/yellow stripe, or bare copper) coming from the ceiling, downrod, and hanging bracket.
Note: Fan style may vary.
Installing the Canopy
Fit the canopy in place as shown. Lift the canopy into place so that the screw holes are aligned.
Insert the two canopy screws found in the hardware bag.
Installing the Blades
Put the blade washers found in the hardware bag onto the blade screws found in the hardware bag. Then, install the blade screws to secure each blade to the fan. Repeat x3.
Note: Fan style may vary.
Assembling the Light Kit
Follow the illustrated steps to assemble the light kit.
Partially install two light kit assembly screws (found in the hardware bag) halfway into the motor housing. It does not matter which two screw holes you choose.
Feed the wire plug through the center hole of the upper switch housing, then wrap keyhole slots around the screws and twist counterclockwise.
Insert the third screw (found in the hardware bag) into place and tighten all three screws.
Connect the 9-pin to the plug connector found in the switch housing area of the light kit assembly. Line up the colored markings on the connectors.
Align the holes of the LED assembly with the holes of the upper switch housing. Ensure all wires are snug inside the center of the light kit, not pinched, and not hanging out of the sides.
Insert the light kit screws (found in the hardware bag) and tighten all three screws.
⚠️ WARNING: FAN FALL HAZARD
Make sure all screws are tight to secure the light fixture.
Note: Fan style may vary.
Installing the Bulbs and Glass
Lift the globe and align the notches in the globe with the tabs in the light kit.
Attach the globe by lifting and turning clockwise one third of a full turn until it stops. NOTE: Check to ensure proper engagement.
Turn Power ON.
Note: Fan style may vary.
Preparing the Remote Control
The remote control is pre-paired. A remote function card is included.
To access the battery compartment, remove the small Phillips head screw securing the battery door. Contact your local battery recycling center for proper disposal information.

- Ensure correct polarity (+ and -) during installation.
- Do not mix old/new batteries, different brands, or types (e.g., alkaline, carbon-zinc, rechargeable).
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Remove exhausted batteries.
- Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat, or incinerate batteries.
- Remove batteries from equipment not used for extended periods.
- Always secure the battery compartment. If it doesn't close securely, stop use, remove batteries, and keep away from children.
Adjustable White LED: Choose from three color temperature settings: Warm White (3,000K), Cool White (4,000K), and Daylight (5,000K) using the handheld remote.
⚠️ WARNING INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
- INGESTION HAZARD: Contains a button cell or coin battery.
- DEATH or serious injury can occur if ingested.
- Swallowed batteries can cause internal chemical burns in as little as 2 hours.
- KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
- Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.
Reversing the Fan
Ceiling fans operate in two directions: downdraft (counterclockwise rotation) and updraft (clockwise rotation).
To change direction: Turn the fan off, let it stop completely. Slide the reversing switch to the opposite position. Restart the fan.
- Updraft (clockwise rotation): Creates indirect airflow, great for moving warm air downward.
- Downdraft (counterclockwise rotation): Creates a direct breeze for maximum cooling effect.
