Operating Instructions
Button Functions
- M button: Changes the display mode. Holding for over 2 seconds shows the 12-hour clock.
- S/S button: Starts and stops the measurement of trip distance and elapsed time. The speed scale symbol flashes during operation. This button is invalid in Auto Function.
- SET Button: Used for setting wheel circumference, clock time, switching Auto Function on/off, and clearing data.
Reset Operation
To reset trip data (MXS, AVS, DST, TM) to zero, select any mode except ODO and press the M and S/S buttons simultaneously.
All Clear Operation
To erase all stored data (ODO, speed scale, wheel circumference, clock time), press the M, S/S, and SET buttons simultaneously. This is recommended after replacing the battery or if an irregular display occurs. After this operation, necessary data must be reset.
Main Unit Preparation
- Measure Wheel Circumference: Mark the tire tread, roll the bike one full revolution, and measure the distance between the start and end marks. Alternatively, use the cross-reference table.
- Set Speed Scale: After an "All Clear" operation, select either mile/h or km/h using the S/S button and confirm with the M button.
- Set Wheel Circumference: The default is 216 cm. Use the S/S button to increase the value and the M button to confirm. Hold S/S for rapid increase.
- Reset/Change Wheel Circumference: In ODO mode, stop with S/S, then press SET. The current value will flicker, allowing revision.
- Set Clock Time: Press M button for over 2 seconds to select the clock setting. Use S/S to adjust minutes, then M to adjust hours. Press SET to confirm. It's recommended to set the time slightly ahead for accuracy.
Mounting to Bike
Sensor and Magnet:
- Ensure spokes pass correctly through the magnet.
- Attach the sensor to the right fork using Sensor Bands-A and B. Select the appropriate band size (S for up to 24ø, L for oversize). Use longer screws for thicker forks.
- Insert band-B into band-A, place the rubber pad inside band-A, and adjust for parallel mounting.
- Temporarily tighten the screw to mount the sensor and bands to the fork.
- Align the magnet's center with the sensor's marking line, ensuring approximately 2mm clearance between them. Securely tighten the screw and trim excess band-B.
Wire Management:
- Secure the wire with nylon ties, routing it along the outer cable and using the spiral tube for protection. Adjust wire length to avoid hindering handlebar operation.
Bracket and Main Unit:
- Use rubber pads if necessary for handlebar diameter. Attach the bracket near the handlebar stem.
- Slide the main unit onto the bracket until it clicks. To remove, push down the lever and pull the unit forward.
Test:
- Mount the main unit. If no figures appear, press M or S/S to exit power saving. Spin the wheel to check if the sensor pulse symbol flashes. If not, re-adjust the sensor and magnet positions.
How to Replace the Battery
Turn the unit over, remove the battery case cover with a coin, insert a new Lithium Battery (CR1620 or CR1616) with the [plus-sign] pole upward, and close the cover securely. After replacing the battery, perform the "All Clear" operation and reset the unit.
Measuring and Display Functions
- SPD (Current Speed): Displays the current speed.
- ODO (Total Distance/Odometer): Displays the total distance traveled since the last "All Clear" operation.
- DST (Trip Distance): Displays the distance traveled since the last reset.
- TM (Elapsed Time): Displays the time elapsed since the last reset.
- AVS (Average Speed): Displays the average speed for the current trip.
- MXS (Maximum Speed): Displays the maximum speed recorded for the current trip.
- 12-hour clock time: Displays the current time.
Auto (Automatic Start/Stop) Function
This function automatically starts and stops measurement based on movement, indicated by the AUTO symbol. To switch it on/off, press the SET button in TM, DST, or AVS modes. When active, elapsed time measurement pauses during stops.
Power Saving Function
If the unit receives no signal for 60-70 minutes, it enters power saving mode, displaying only a blank screen or a minimal indicator. Pressing any button or receiving a signal will release it from this mode.
Troubleshooting
- No Current Speed Display: Check if contacts on the unit/bracket are clean. Ensure the distance between sensor and magnet is correct (approx. 2mm) and alignment is proper. Check for wire breaks.
- Slow Display Response: This may occur at low temperatures (below 0°C/32°F) and resolves as temperature rises.
- No Display: The Lithium Battery may be depleted. Replace it.
- Incorrect Data: Perform the "All Clear" operation and reset the unit.
- Transmission Signal Loss (Wet Conditions): Water or condensation on contacts can interrupt transmission. Wipe contacts dry. Water-repellent treatment may help, but avoid industrial repellents.
- S/S Button Not Working: Ensure the unit is not in Auto Function, as the S/S button is inactive in that mode.
Maintenance and Precautions
- Avoid exposing the main unit to direct sunlight when not in use.
- Do not disassemble the unit, sensor, or magnet.
- Prioritize road safety; do not get distracted by the computer while riding.
- Periodically check the sensor and magnet alignment.
- Clean the unit with a soft cloth and neutral detergent. Avoid paint thinner, benzine, or alcohol.
- If buttons are stiff due to dirt or sand, wash them gently with water.
