Factors Affecting Solar Charging Performance

Time of Year:

The amount of daylight changes with the seasons. For temporary solar charging, it's important to know that cold weather does not negatively affect panel performance, as they function based on light rather than heat.

Factors Affecting Solar Charging Performance:

Note: You can reduce charging time by turning off the connected device (e.g., laptop).

Ideal Time of Day:

Solar panels function with high efficiency when the sun is shining directly, generally around midday.

Sunlight and Angle:

The brighter and clearer the sunlight, the better the panels will perform. A panel angled south at 30-60 degrees relative to a flat surface will collect more solar energy.

Avoid Any Shade:

Ensure your panels are free from even minor shade. Partial shading significantly reduces output. Additionally, any accumulated dirt could decrease power over time. Periodic cleaning of the panel is recommended.

Using Your Solar Generator to Power Devices

  • 1x USB-C: For smartphones, mini-laptops equipped with the PD fast charging standard, supporting PD bidirectional input/output up to 100W per hour.
  • 3x USB-A: For smartphones, portable power banks, small USB fans, and other USB-powered devices.
  • 2x DC: For LED lights or any other device requiring up to 12V DC. (DC 5.5 x 2.5mm socket, max 5A per port).
  • AC Universal Outlets (x2): For AC portable devices. Ensure your device's rated power is 700W and its surge power is less than 1400W. The AC outlets are built with short-circuit protection but should also be protected from moisture.
  • 12V Car Socket: For car refrigerators, 12V appliances, etc. The car sockets are built with short-circuit protection and should be covered with the rubber plug when not in use.

Operation and Compatibility

  1. Verify Compatibility: Before operation, check the voltage, surge, and operating power requirements of your devices. In case of overload, the AC output (except for DC ports) will shut down automatically thanks to the advanced integrated system control circuit. (Reconnect a lower-power AC device and restart after a 60-second interval).
  2. Ensure Master is On: For safety reasons, all USB, AC, and wireless charging functions are activated by the main power button. You can view the total output wattage on the LCD screen. (Note: The 12V DC car port is always active and does not require a main button press).
  3. Turn Off Master to Stop Output: To prevent energy loss, after use, press the main button again to turn off the output and disconnect the load. (For AC modes, press and hold for 3 seconds to exit the output).

IMPORTANT!

  • To activate AC outputs, ensure the battery level never drops below 10%. For DC outputs, ensure it does not drop below 5%. This is designed to help prolong battery life, ensuring your generator is ready when you need it.
  • When powering off, the microelectronic control circuit enters standby mode. The battery may discharge slightly if not used for six months. To ensure your generator's power is available when needed, please exit all modes and turn off the LCD screen after each use.

Reference Runtime for Common Appliances

Different appliances require different operating power. If you connect devices that consume high power (like a refrigerator), the battery's charge level may drop very quickly, and you might not achieve the full 606Wh capacity. Conversely, if you charge devices that consume power more slowly (like a small television), you will get closer to the rated 606Wh capacity.

Reference Application Time:

  • 5W Device: 100-105 recharges
  • 60W Device: 8.5-9 recharges
  • 40W Device: 52 recharges
  • 10W Device: 52 hours
  • 30W Device: 17-18 hours
  • 50W Device: 10.5 hours
  • 10W Device: 12-13 hours
  • 120W Device: 4-4.5 hours

Storage and Maintenance

  1. It is recommended to fully charge the unit at least once every 90 days to maintain optimal performance, reliability, and longevity.
  2. Once output is complete, remember to turn off the master switch to conserve energy.
  3. Due to the battery's chemical characteristics, its available capacity may vary slightly depending on the environment, such as in cold weather or during overheating (you might hear the cooling fan). Therefore, always use it within the ambient temperature range of -10°C to 40°C (14°F to 104°F). It is also not recommended for outdoor storage or in humid environments.
  4. If you live off-grid in sub-zero conditions, we recommend storing your unit in an insulated cooler and connecting it to a power source (solar panels). The naturally generated heat will help maintain the battery's capacity at its highest level.
  5. Continuously discharging the battery below 5-10% and then storing it in a low-charge state can reduce its useful lifespan. It is recommended to always leave at least 20% of capacity unused.
