ALLPOWERS AP-SS-002 S200 V2.0 Portable Power Station
Precautions Before Operations
- Ensure the power level of this generator is not too low before taking it outdoors. It is capable of charging and discharging simultaneously, but solar charging results are affected by weather conditions.
- Battery cycle life is extended with proper maintenance and usage environment. Lithium-ion batteries offer longer cycles than normal SLA or AGM batteries. All rechargeable batteries exhibit a self-discharge characteristic that varies by usage, storage temperature, and state of health. Recommended operating temperature: 0-40°C (32-104°F). Avoid outdoor storage or damp environments.
- Ensure your device's rated output power is ≤ 200W, and initial wattage is < 240W. Some AC appliances have starting wattages up to 3 times higher than their rated running wattage.
- The unit may get warmer during charging/discharging, which is normal. Use it in a cool and well-ventilated place.
- AC source voltage and frequency may differ by country (e.g., CN220V, US110V, JP100V, EU/UK230V, AU240V). Ensure you have chosen the correct voltage and frequency accordingly.
To better preserve its lifespan, it is suggested to recharge this unit at least once every 6 months, ideally every 3-4 months.
Get To Know Your Product
The ALLPOWERS AP-SS-002 Portable Power Station features a compact design with a wireless charging pad on its top surface. Key external features include:
- Wireless charging pad
- 2x AC universal outputs
- 2x USB outputs
- Vents for cooling
- DC Output port (press once to activate)
- AC Output port (press and hold for 3s to activate)
- Charging input port
- USB-C output with PD two-way input/output capability
The front panel includes an LCD screen that displays the battery status (e.g., 98% charge), estimated remaining running hours (e.g., 88hr), and real-time power input and output (INPUT, DCOUT, ACOUT). A power button controls the LCD screen: press once to light up the display, and press and hold for 5 seconds to turn it off.
An AC/DC status indicator shows the operating mode: DC Mode (Green light), AC Mode (Red light), or DC+AC Mode (Yellow light).
Two Ways to Recharge This Unit
1. Wall Outlet Charging
Use the standard 36W adapter or a 65W USB-C adapter. Input can be superimposed for faster charging, reaching up to 99W. Charging times: 36W adapter: approximately 4-5 hours; 65W USB-C adapter: approximately 2-3 hours; Superimposed charging: approximately 1.5 hours.
2. Solar Charging
A certified solar charging cable is required and must be purchased separately. The maximum power voltage of your solar panel should not exceed 18V, and the wattage should not exceed 99W. Under STC (Standard Test Conditions), a full battery charge takes approximately 1.5-2 hours.
Common Variables Affecting Solar Charging Performance
- Ideal Time of Day: Panels operate at peak efficiency when the sun is most direct, typically around mid-day.
- Sunlight and Angle: Brighter sun and clearer days improve performance. A south-facing panel angled at 30-60 degrees from a flat surface will maximize solar energy harvest. Monitor input wattage to adjust the panel's angle.
- Avoid Any Possible Shelter: Ensure panels are free from shade. Even minimum partial shading reduces yields. Periodically cleaning the panels is recommended to remove accumulated dirt, which can decrease wattage over time.
Wireless Charging
Output: DC5V1.0A (Max). Transmit distance: 5-8 mm. Transmit conversion: ≥72%. Charging frequency: 110-205 KHz. Compatible with most Qi-standard smartphones and other Qi-enabled devices. A Qi receiver may be needed for some devices.
Warm Tips:
- Thicker phone cases or metal objects, such as metal phone cases and plates, might interfere with wireless charging. Remove them before charging.
- The charging area may become warmer during the charging time, which is normal.
- For best charging performance, always place your phone on the right center of the charging area.
Using Your Solar Generator to Power Devices
For security reasons, DC (USB Ports, USB-C) and AC modes are activated by a master button. Before adding a load device, press the power button to light up the LCD, then switch on DC/AC mode. After the load device is added, the LCD will show the output wattage and remaining running hours, then turn off after 15 seconds. You can short press the power button anytime to check the LCD information.
Every time AC mode is powered on, a cooling fan will run and keep running while the AC inverter is engaged.
Every time if outputting is done, please remember to exit DC/AC mode and make sure the green/red indicator goes off to save the loss of energy. (Press the AC button for 3s to switch on/off AC mode.)
Powering Various Devices
The unit can power a variety of devices. Estimated recharges or usage times include:
- UAV (1000mAh 7.4V): Up to 17 Recharges
- Smartphone (2000mAh 3.7V): Up to 17 Recharges
- LED Light (10W): Up to 12 Hours
- Mini Small Fan (5W): Up to 25 Hours
- Inflator pump (20W): Up to 6 Hours
- Vacuum cleaner (100-120W): Approximately 1.2 Hours
- Laptop (45W): Up to 3 Recharges
- Mini Fridge (40-60W): Approximately 3 Hours
Important Warnings
- Use certified cables to build the connection between your device and the generator. Non-branded cables might result in up to 50% power loss.
- Different devices require different working wattages. Devices that drain high wattage (e.g., a refrigerator) will cause the battery to drop very quickly, and you may not get the full 154Wh capacity. Devices that draw wattage more slowly (e.g., a small TV) will yield closer to 154Wh from this unit.
- It is suggested to fully charge the unit at least once every 3-4 months for maintaining the best performance, reliability, and longevity.
- Due to the chemical characteristics of the battery, the available capacity may vary with environmental conditions such as cold weather or overheating. Always use the unit in room temperature (0-40°C). It is not recommended for outdoor storage or in damp environments.
- If you are living off-grid in sub-zero conditions, it is recommended to keep the unit in an insulated cooler and connect it to a power source (solar panels). The natural heat generated will help keep the battery capacity at its highest.
- Do not place the unit in, on, or near heat sources, fabric material, or in direct sunlight. When recharging from solar, use a shelter to ensure cooling.
- Avoid short-circuiting the unit and keep it away from all metal objects.
- Handle the unit with care, avoiding impact from sharp objects or heavy knocking.
- Avoid damp or dusty places, water, or other liquids.
- This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliances by a person responsible for their safety.
- The battery pack inside is non-removable and non-disassemblable. The life-cycle for charged and discharged is over 500 times, but it will wear out eventually.
Storage and Downtime Maintenance
- To save energy, if outputting is done, remember to switch off the DC/AC power master and ensure the indicator goes off before unplugging your devices.
- Do not touch the device, the power cord, or any other connected cables with wet hands. If you notice any damage, cracks, breakage, or other abnormalities, do NOT continue to use the unit and contact your dealer or customer service center.
