Quick Start Assembly Instructions
- Remove all contents from the box.
- Attach the Agitator (B) to the top of the Core Engine (A) by aligning the plastic rod on the Core Engine (A) to the hole on the bottom of the Agitator (B) and pressing down until secure.
- Align the tabs on the Bottom Assembly (D) to the slots at the bottom of the Core Engine (A). Insert and turn clockwise to lock.
- Align the tabs on the Top Assembly (D) to the slots at the top of the Core Engine (A). Insert and turn clockwise to lock.
- Before plugging into the electric outlet, insert the A/C Adapter (C) into the back of the Core Engine (A).
Operating Instructions
Note: iPong should only be used with 40mm table tennis balls.
- Place the assembled iPong V300 on the table, close to the back end and along the middle line. Angle the projection hole to the desired left or right position on the table.
- Before turning on the iPong, ensure no table tennis balls are inside the core engine. Rotate the agitator manually so the round gap is not aligned with the ball entry hole to reduce jamming.
- Dispense table tennis balls into the top assembly (60-100 balls recommended).
- Press the power button and then the play/pause button ▶️ immediately. This allows time to adjust settings on the remote. Press play/pause ▶️ again to start playing.
Settings Customization
The iPong V300 uses an upper and lower wheel to control ball spin, speed, and trajectory.
- Topspin: Upper wheel spins faster than the lower wheel.
- Backspin: Lower wheel spins faster than the upper wheel.
- No Spin: Both wheels spin at the same speed.
Note: Due to varying conditions (ball size, dust, humidity, altitude, etc.), remote control settings may not be exact. Adjust as needed.
Settings Overview
Start with the iPong in pause mode. Use the plus ➕ and minus ➖ buttons to adjust settings.
Frequency Settings
Frequency controls the rate at which balls are shot out. Higher setting means more balls per minute (1=lowest, 8=highest).
Oscillation (Side-To-Side) Settings
Oscillation controls random ball placement. Higher setting means faster side-to-side motion (1=slowest, 8=fastest).
Memory Function
Save and recall favorite settings. Press pause, then memory to save. Press memory in play mode to recall.
Example Settings:
- Beginner Topspin: Place iPong 12" inward from the back edge. Set Topspin: "2", Backspin: "1".
- Topspin Settings: Place iPong at the back edge. Set Topspin: "3", Backspin: "1". For stronger topspin/distance, increase Topspin (e.g., 4:1, 5:1). Decrease Topspin if balls go off the table.
- Backspin Settings: Place iPong at the back edge. Set Topspin: "0", Backspin: "6". For stronger backspin/distance, increase Backspin (e.g., 0:7, 0:8). Decrease Backspin if balls go off the table.
Using the iPong Tilt Stand
The Tilt Stand is an elevation tool to change ball trajectory and increase shot variation. Three heights: 9mm, 17mm, or 26mm.
- For slower balls: Position iPong near the center of the table. Start with the lowest tilt stand position and adjust upward as needed.
- For fast backspin balls: Position iPong near the end of the table. Start with the highest tilt stand position and adjust downward as needed.
- Advanced (very fast topspin balls): Place tilt stand on the rear of the iPong. Position near the end or middle of the table. Start in the lowest position and adjust upward as needed.
Tip: If balls go into the net, go up in elevation. If balls go off the table, go down in elevation.
iPong Maintenance
- After each use, remove the power adapter.
- Clean balls after several uses as dust can affect function.
- Wipe the iPong after use and store in a box or bag to avoid dust.
- Clean the wheels often: Wet a clean cloth with water or alcohol and wipe the wheels.
- Clean the motor under the agitator: Disassemble the horn, gently pull the agitator up to remove it. Carefully remove dust or hair around the motor with a clean cloth.
FAQ / Troubleshooting Tips
- Topspin/Backspin settings not working as expected? Remember that equal Topspin and Backspin settings result in no spin. Refer to the Settings Customization section.
- iPong won't turn on? Ensure the A/C adapter is fully plugged in.
- Core engine not running? Ensure the A/C adapter is fully plugged in. Unplug the adapter, remove the agitator, and check for obstructions (dust, hair, pet dander). Remove obstructions, plug in, and try again.
- Rubber wheels not spinning? Ensure the A/C adapter is fully plugged in. Unplug, remove top/bottom assembly and front casing. Check for obstructions and remove them.
- Balls hitting the side of the projection hole? Ensure you are using correct 40mm table tennis balls, preferably plastic.
- Balls falling out of projection hole, not shooting? Ensure you are using correct 40mm table tennis balls, preferably plastic.
- Balls shooting at different angles? Ensure you are using correct 40mm table tennis balls, preferably plastic.
- Balls not shooting at a consistent speed? Ensure the A/C adapter is fully plugged in.
- Balls shooting off the end of the table? Ensure you are using correct 40mm table tennis balls. Try moving the iPong further back. Decrease Backspin and/or increase Topspin settings incrementally.
- Balls loaded but agitator not moving? Remove some balls; overloading can prevent rotation.
- Balls getting jammed? Ensure you are using correct 40mm table tennis balls. Maximum capacity is 100 balls (60-100 recommended). Avoid turning off the unit when the agitator gap is aligned with the ball entry hole.
- Balls jamming immediately after reloading? This can happen if Topspin/Backspin are at "0". Turn off, remove all balls, run the iPong empty with settings at "1" or higher, then reload.
- A ball is jammed or stuck? Unplug the iPong. Manually remove the ball or tip the unit upside down and shake gently.
- Agitator tab broken? The agitator is sensitive. Contact customer service for replacement.
- Core engine very loud? Power off and check for obstructions in wheel motors. Ensure the unit is on a level surface.
- Last few balls not shooting out? This indicates it's time to reload.
- Does the iPong require maintenance? No major maintenance, but keep wheels clean and free of dust/hair.
- Balls on the floor? Consider JOOLA's Table Tennis Ball Catch Net or Pickup Net (available at www.ipong.de).
