3. Operation Instructions

POWER/SLEEP (USING RSSI function)

POWER: A short press of the POWER button displays the clock. A second short press within 10 seconds turns the radio on. Alternatively, a double short press of the POWER button turns the radio on. If no buttons are operated for 10 seconds, the radio enters power-saving mode (LCD is not displayed). A long press of the POWER button while the radio is on turns it off.

SLEEP: After inserting the battery, while the radio is in clock state, long press the POWER button. The sleep symbol will appear on the top right corner of the LCD, and the sleep time can be selected (90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 seconds). Each press of the POWER button cycles through sleep times. After selecting the sleep time, the radio will turn on after approximately 1 second. The radio will automatically turn off when the selected sleep time is reached.

RSSI Indicator: On the power-on state, a short press of the POWER button displays "DB" on the LCD, indicating the Received Signal Strength. The sensitivity of the receiving station can be determined based on this parameter.

Note: If the sleep function is not required, press and hold the POWER button for a long time to turn off the radio and then turn it on again.

LOCK (Printed a lock symbol)

The LOCK function prevents accidental frequency conversion, shutdown, etc. On the clock state or power-on state, long press the LOCK button to lock the radio. When locked, no buttons will function. Long press the LOCK button again to cancel the lock function. If buttons are unresponsive, check if the radio is locked.

DC5V Micro USB Jack

This jack is for external power. Connect a DC 5V power supply using a USB cable to charge the radio. If the display is unclear or the battery symbol is flashing, plug in the external power supply. Charging takes approximately 3-4 hours. The battery symbol will be fully displayed when charging is complete.

3.5mm Earplug Jack

Connect earphones here for personal stereo listening without disturbing others.

Seven Section Telescopic Antenna

When listening to FM, SW, CB, AIR, and VHF bands, pull out the antenna to improve signal reception. When turning off the radio, close the antenna to prevent it from breaking.

LCD Display

The LCD display is convenient for users to view frequency points, band conversions, battery usage, volume adjustments, and other information.

VOL+ / VOL-

Adjusting Volume:

When in recall mode, pressing VOL+ or VOL- helps to select stored memory stations. After a short press of the MEMO button, CH1-CH50 will appear on the LCD. Then, use VOL+ or VOL- to search for the target preset recall number.

MEMO (Store and Recall Function)

Preset Store Operation:

  1. Use the TUNING+/- buttons to adjust to the target frequency.
  2. Long press the MEMO button. "CH01-CH50" will appear on the LCD, and the station address (e.g., "CH01") will flash.
  3. Press the VOL+ or VOL- buttons to select the desired station address.
  4. Short press the MEMO button again. The LCD will display "MEMO", and after 1 second, the station is successfully stored.

Example: To save FM 87.8MHz to CH01:

  1. Press TUNING+/- to tune to 87.8MHz.
  2. Long press MEMO. "CH01-CH50" appears.
  3. Use VOL+/- to select CH01.
  4. Short press MEMO again. "MEMO" appears, confirming the save.

Note: Only one frequency point can be stored per storage address.

Present Recall Function Operation: Short press the MEMO button. The LCD displays CH01-CH50 (memory station addresses). Short press VOL+ or VOL- to select the target memory station.

MODE (Mode Conversion of Each Band)

FM State: Insert the 3.5mm earplug. Short press the MODE button. The LCD will display "MONO" or "ST" (Stereo). Pressing MODE toggles between these two modes.

AM State: Short press the MODE button. The LCD will display either 520KHz or 522KHz. 520KHz indicates an AM step value of 10K. 522KHz indicates an AM step value of 9K. When the AM step value is 9K, the frequency range is 522-1710KHz. When the AM step value is 10K, the frequency range is 520-1720KHz.

Note: In the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and other North American and South American countries, the step value must be set to 10KHz. Other countries must use 9KHz.

SW State: The SW step value is 0.005MHz. Short press the MODE button to cycle through frequencies: 2.300/3.200/3.900/5.000/6.030/7.150/10.000/11.479/13.600/15.000/17.650/19.00/26.000.

AIR State: The step value is 5KHz/25KHz. Short press the MODE button to display "05k" or "25K".

VHF State: Toggles between Narrow band FM-N and Broadband FM-W. Short press the MODE button, and the LCD will display "FM-N" or "FM-W".

SET (Setting Time / Setting SQ Function)

Setting Time Operation:

  1. On clock state or when connected to external DC5V power, long press the SET button. The hour digits will flash.
  2. Use TUNING+/- to adjust the correct hour.
  3. Press SET again. The minute digits will flash.
  4. Use TUNING+/- to adjust the correct minutes.
  5. After setting the time, short press SET again or wait about two seconds. The radio will default to the adjusted time. The backlight will be on during this process.

Setting SQ (Squelch) Function:

In POWER-ON state, on CB and AIR bands, long press the SET button to operate the SQ function. Long press SET again to exchange between SQ-ON and SQ-OFF. After about 3 seconds, the radio returns to the default mode. "SQ ON" on the LCD indicates the squelch function is enabled, while "SQ OF" indicates it is closed.

BAND (Setting Alarm / Bands Exchange)

Setting Alarm Operation:

  1. On clock state, short press the BAND button. The alarm symbol "⏰" will appear on the LCD.
  2. Long press the SET button to set the alarm clock. The method is similar to setting the time.
  3. After long pressing SET, the hour digits flash. Use TUNING+/- to adjust the alarm hour.
  4. Short press SET. The minute digits flash. Use TUNING+/- to adjust the alarm minute.
  5. Wait about 1 second for the system to default the set time.
  6. If you press the SET button a third time, the LCD will display "rHd" or "bu2". These indicate two modes: automatic turn-on and alarm setting model.

Press TUNING+ / TUNING- on the right side of the radio to swap between "rHd" (automatic turn-on) and "bu2" (alarm model). When in alarm model, the radio will ring at the set alarm time. Press any button to stop the ring. The alarm will continue for 5 seconds if no button is pressed.

Power-on State, Bands Exchange

Turn on the radio. Short press the BAND button to switch between FM, AM, CB, AIR, VHF (VHF-W and VHF-N). Each short press searches for the target band.

Auto Scanning

Turn on the radio. Long press the BAND button. The radio will automatically search and store radio stations from low to high frequencies. The LCD will display "CH01-CH50", and the stored address number will change. After scanning is complete, press the MEMO button, then use VOL+ or VOL- to recall the stored stations.

TUNING+/- (Select Station +/-, Adjust Time +/- Function)

In power-on state, use the TUN+/TUN- buttons to select your target frequency.

A short press of TUN+/TUN- adds or reduces the frequency according to the system default step value. A long press searches for the frequency quickly. Releasing the TUN+/TUN- button while searching will stop the station search automatically when a signal is found.

In clock state, when setting the time, use the TUN+/TUN- buttons to adjust the correct time.

6. Orange Backlight

For convenient night use, the radio features an orange backlight. In the power-on state, pressing any button will turn on the backlight for 10 seconds.

7. Receiving TV Sound

The fundamental difference between TV and FM radio is that TV sound frequencies are odd multiples of 50KHz. Below are the audio points for several countries.

Special Note: Television sound for FM frequencies is more susceptible to environmental radio interference, has strong regional variations, and transmission distance limitations compared to other frequency bands. Adjacent region or city coverage may differ significantly.
