Safety Information
General Warnings:
- Read this manual carefully before starting or using the device. Always store the manual in the immediate vicinity of the device or its site of use.
- Failure to follow warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities if given supervision or instruction on safe use and understanding the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Specific Warnings:
- Keep children under 3 years away unless supervised.
- Children aged 3-8 years should only switch on/off if placed/installed correctly and supervised. They should not plug in, regulate, or clean the appliance.
- Do not use in small rooms if persons cannot leave independently or are not supervised.
- Do not use in potentially explosive rooms or areas.
- Do not use in aggressive atmosphere.
- Only position the device upright on firm ground.
- Let the device dry out after wet cleaning; do not operate when wet or with damp hands.
- Do not expose to directly squirting water.
- Never insert objects or limbs into the device.
- Do not cover the device during operation.
- Do not remove safety signs; keep them legible.
- Do not sit on the device.
- The appliance is not a toy; keep away from children and animals. Do not leave unattended during operation.
- Check accessories and connection parts for damage before each use. Do not use defective parts.
- Ensure electric cables outside the device are protected from damage (e.g., by animals). Never use if cables or connection are damaged.
- Mains connection must correspond to technical annex specifications.
- Insert mains plug into a properly fused mains socket.
- When using extension cables, ensure they are completely unrolled and avoid electrical overload.
- Before maintenance/repair, remove the mains plug, holding it while unplugging.
- Switch off and disconnect when not in use.
- Do not use if the mains plug or power cable is damaged; replace by manufacturer or qualified person.
- Observe minimum distances from walls/objects and storage/operating conditions (see Technical Annex).
- Maintain a safety distance of at least 1 m between the air outlet and combustible materials.
- Ensure air inlet and outlet are not obstructed.
- Do not place on combustible ground or high-pile carpets.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Allow the device to cool down before transport/maintenance.
- Do not use near bathtubs, shower trays, swimming pools, or other water containers (risk of electric shock).
- Do not use if dropped or visibly damaged.
- Do not use with programming devices, timers, or remote controls that automatically switch the device on (risk of fire if covered or incorrectly positioned).
Foreseeable Misuse:
- Do not place objects (e.g., clothing) on the device.
- Do not use near fuel, solvents, varnishes, or other flammable vapours.
- Do not use near swimming pools.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not use for heating in vehicles.
- Do not use near sinks, bathtubs, or other water containers.
- Never immerse the device in water.
- Do not place on wet or flooded ground.
- Any use other than intended is misuse.
- Do not make unauthorized modifications.
Personnel Qualifications: Users must be aware of dangers with electric devices in damp areas and have read/understood the instructions.
Symbols on the device: A symbol indicates it is prohibited to place objects (such as towels, clothes etc.) above or directly in front of the device to avoid overheating and fire hazards. ⚡️ (Warning of electrical voltage), ? Residual Risks:
- Electrical Voltage: Work on electrical components only by authorized specialists.
- Hot Surface: Parts can become very hot and cause burns.
- Improper Handling: Risk of burning and electric shock. Use only as intended.
- Untrained Use: Dangers can occur. Observe personnel qualifications.
- Not a Toy: Keep away from children.
- Risk of Suffocation: Do not leave packaging around; children may use it as a toy.
- Improper Installation: Risk of fire. Do not place on combustible ground or high-pile carpets.
- Covering: Risk of overheating and fire. Device must not be covered.
Behaviour in the event of an emergency: 1. Switch off. 2. Disconnect from mains (hold plug). 3. Do not reconnect defective devices.
Overheating Protection: The device has a safety thermostat that switches it off automatically if it overheats. Allow to cool down before investigating the cause.
Information about the Device
Device Description: The electric heater generates and distributes warm air in interior spaces using a heating element and a fan. It features an integrated thermostat for constant warm air flow and a time-delay thermostat for automatic rundown operation. Fan-only operation is also possible.

Transport and Storage
Note: Improper storage or transport can damage the device.
Transport: Fitted with a carry handle. Before transporting: switch off, unplug by holding the plug, do not drag by the cable, allow to cool down.
Storage: Before storing: unplug by holding the plug, allow to cool down. Store in a dry place, protected from frost and heat, upright, protected from dust and direct sunlight. Use a cover if necessary. Do not place other devices or objects on top.
Assembly and Start-up
Scope of Delivery:
- TDS 75 R: 1 x Electric heater, 1 x Carry handle, 1 x Manual.
- TDS 120 R: 1 x Electric heater, 2 x Wheel, 2 x Foot, 1 x Axle, 1 x Bar handle for transport, 8 x Screw, 10 x Washer, 2 x Nut, 2 x Safety split pin, 1 x Manual.
Unpacking: Open box, remove device, remove packaging, fully unwind power cable, checking for damage.
Assembly: Use suitable tools.
Mounting the transport handle (TDS 75 R): Attach handle using screws and washers.
Assembling the carriage (TDS 120 R): Attach carriage construction (wheels, bar handle, feet). Mount feet and axle using screws, secure axle with split pins. Attach wheels to axle ends with nuts and washers. Mount transport handle to feet using screws, washers, and nuts.
Operation
Start-up: Odours may occur initially. Observe minimum distances from walls/objects (Technical Annex).
General Operation: Avoid open doors and windows.
Control Panel:
- TDS 75 R: Features a rotary switch (19) for temperature setting and a selection switch (20) for heating levels (0: Off, : Ventilation only, : Heating level 1, : Heating level 2, : Heating level 3).
- TDS 120 R: Similar controls: rotary switch (19) for temperature and selection switch (20) for heating levels (0: Off, : Ventilation only, : Heating level 1, : Heating level 2).
Before Restarting: Check power cable condition. Set device upright and stable. Avoid tripping hazards with cables. Ensure extension cables are unrolled. Ensure no obstructions to airflow. Keep away from moisture/water.
Connecting the Power Cable: Insert mains plug into a fused socket. Guide cable along the back of the device.
Switching the device on: Set selection switch (20) to desired heating level.
Setting the room thermostat: Select desired temperature using rotary switch (19). The thermostat automatically controls room temperature, switching heating off when set value is exceeded and the fan continues to cool down the heater.
Shutdown: Switch off using selection switch (20) to position 0. Fan runs for approx. 3 minutes for rundown operation. Wait for fan to stop, then unplug by holding the plug. Allow to cool down. Clean and store.
Errors and Faults
Warning: Opening the device requires authorized specialists.
Troubleshooting:
- Device does not start: Check power connection, cable/plug for damage, on-site fusing, room temperature (thermostat might have switched off), motor (defective motor needs replacement), or room thermostat (defective thermostat needs replacement). Wait 10 minutes before restarting. If still not starting, have electrics checked.
- Device on, fan running, no heating: Check room temperature, overheating protection (see Safety), heating resistor (blown resistor needs replacement), or room thermostat (defective thermostat needs replacement).
- Fan not running: Check if device is switched on, power connection, cable/plug for damage, fan motor (defective motor needs replacement).
- Air current reduced: Check air inlet/outlet for obstructions and dirt. Observe minimum distances.
- Device loud or vibrates: Check if device is set up stably and upright.
Note: Wait at least 3 minutes after maintenance/repair before switching on.
Persistent Issues: Contact customer service or an authorized specialist/Trotec for repair.

Activities required before starting maintenance: Warnings regarding electrical voltage and opening the device apply.
Cleaning the housing: Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Protect electrical components from moisture. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Wipe dry.
