MGC SGM-1004S: 4 NAC Output Module with Built-in Synchronization
Description
The SGM-1004S Module is compatible with MGC fire alarm control panels including the FA-1000, FX-2000 Series, FleX-Net FX-2000N Series, FleX-Net FX-4000N Series, and FX-MNS-6000. It provides up to 4 Class A or B (Style Z or Y) Indicating Circuits, enabling synchronized NAC circuits. This offers flexibility and cost savings by increasing the number of synchronized NAC circuits per panel and reducing the need for separate sync modules and wiring.
Each of the four indicating circuits is rated at Regulated 24 VDC/FWR with a maximum of 1.7 Amps per circuit (5 Amps maximum per SGM-1004S). For special applications, it is rated at 33 VDC/FWR with a maximum of 2.1 Amps per circuit (5 Amps maximum per SGM-1004S). Circuits can be configured as Non-Silenceable (Steady) or Silenceable. Each circuit includes an individual trouble indicator and is power limited for use with limited energy cable. The SGM-1004S also features terminals for a suite isolator option (part number CSIS-202A1).

Applications
The SGM-1004S allows compatible fire alarm control panels to have synchronized NAC circuits. The maximum number of synchronized NAC circuits is determined by the panel's capacity for hosting adder modules. The module provides flexibility and cost savings by increasing the number of synchronized NAC circuits per panel while reducing the quantity of sync modules and wiring required.
Installation
The SGM-1004S consists of a PC board that mounts at the bottom of the chassis. The PC board connects via cables to the main chassis board. Labels are provided with each chassis. Removable terminal blocks facilitate easy connection of field wiring and servicing.

Wiring Diagram
The diagram illustrates the typical wiring for the SGM-1004S NAC Board. It shows four NAC outputs (NAC 1, NAC 2, NAC 3, NAC 4), each connectable to supervised NAC circuits. NAC 1 and NAC 3 are shown configured for CLASS B wiring, while NAC 2 and NAC 4 are configured for CLASS A wiring. The legend indicates that the wiring is for BELL, HORN OR STROBE devices, using a 3.9K 1/2W ELR (End of Line Resistor) as specified by S5434, Model MP-300, manufactured by Mircom.
