Getting Started

This guide provides instructions for setting up your Imou camera.

Part 1: Power On the Camera

Connect the camera to a power source. You can use a wireless or wired network connection. The camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing you to connect it to a PoE-enabled device (like a PoE switch) using an Ethernet cable for both power and data transmission.

Part 2: Get the Imou Life App

Download the Imou Life mobile application. You can scan the provided QR code [QR Code] or search for "Imou Life" in your device's app store. After downloading, create an account and log in.

Part 3: Set Up the Camera

Use the Imou Life app to scan the QR code located on the camera's body or on the cover of this guide. Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to complete the camera setup.

Visual indicator: The app shows an "Add Device" screen.

Part 4: Install the Camera

Ensure the mounting surface is robust enough to support at least three times the weight of the camera. For detailed installation steps, please refer to the full installation guide.

LED Status Indicators

Green Flashing	Ready to set up the device
Green Solid	Working properly
Green Flashing	Network disconnected
Red Solid	Failed to set up the device
Red Flashing	Booting
Green & Red Alternating	Updating firmware
Off	Device malfunction / Power off / LED turned off

Resetting the Camera

To reset the camera, press and hold the [Reset Button] for 10 seconds. The LED will turn solid red when the camera begins booting.
