Air Conditioner Safety
Your safety and the safety of others are very important. Always read and obey all safety messages.
Safety Alert Symbol: This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others. Safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word "DANGER" or "WARNING".
DANGER: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions.
WARNING: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't follow instructions.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
- Do not remove ground prong.
- Do not use an adapter.
- Do not use an extension cord.
- Unplug air conditioner before servicing.
- Use two or more people to move and install air conditioner.
Disposing of the Unit:
- Remove battery cells and dispose of them safely for recycling.
- Consult your dealer for disposal instructions. Improper handling of refrigerant can cause injury and environmental damage.
- Recycle or dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
- Never store or ship the air conditioner upside down or sideways.
- The appliance is not intended for use by unsupervised young children or infirm persons.
Installation Requirements
Tools and Parts:
Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, Saw, Pencil, Scissors, Cordless drill and 1/8" bit.
Parts supplied: Foam seal (A), Dummy coupling (B), Flexible exhaust hose (C), Window exhaust adapter (D), 1/2" screws (E), Wood screws (F), Window-lock bracket (G), Rain cover (H), Outer slider section (I), Inner slider section (J), Bolts (K), Nuts (L), Spring washers (M), Plain washers (N).
Location Requirements:
The flexible exhaust hose allows placement between 23 5/8" and 64 1/8" (60 cm and 163 cm) from the window or door. Portable air conditioners are designed for supplemental cooling.
Horizontal Slide Window Installation: Ensure at least 23 5/8" (60 cm) distance from the return air outlet to the wall or obstacles. Do not block the air outlet. Provide access to a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Vertical Slide Window Installation: Similar requirements as horizontal installation.
Electrical Requirements:
Connect to a 115V, 60 Hz, 15-amp grounded 3 prong outlet. Use of a time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. All wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes and be installed by a qualified electrician.
Power Supply Cord
The power supply cord has advanced electronics that sense leakage current. If the cord is crushed, power will be disconnected instantly.
To test your power supply cord:
- Plug into a grounded outlet.
- Press RESET (green light may turn on).
- Press TEST (listen for click; Reset button trips, green light may turn off).
- Press and release RESET (listen for click; Reset button latches, green light may turn on). The cord is ready.
Notes: The Reset button must be pushed in for proper operation. Replace the cord if it fails to trip or reset. Do not use the cord as an on/off switch. A damaged cord must be replaced with a new one from the manufacturer.
Installation Instructions
Unpack the Air Conditioner:
- Do not use sharp instruments, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners.
- Handle the air conditioner gently.
- Use two or more people to move and install the unit.
- Remove and dispose of/recycle packaging materials.
- Remove tape and glue residue with mild soap and water.
Install Exhaust Hose and Adapter:
- Roll the air conditioner to the selected location.
- Attach the dummy coupling to the flexible exhaust hose.
- Attach the window exhaust adapter to the flexible exhaust hose.
- Insert the dummy coupling into the slot on the back of the air conditioner and slide down to lock.
Window Installation:
- Insert the window exhaust adapter into the slot on the window slider kit.
- For casement windows, the slider kit may be installed vertically.
- Attach the rain cover to the window slider kit using provided bolts, washers, and nuts. Use the other 2 bolts, washers, and nuts in the unused holes to prevent moisture leakage.
- Open the window and measure the opening. If too narrow, remove the inner slider section. Cut the inner slider section to fit if necessary. Slide the inner slider section into the outer slider section.
- Place the window slider kit into the window, extending it to fit. Ensure the rain cover is on the outside.
- Insert 1/2" screws into the inner slider section.
- Close the window onto the window slider kit to secure.
Complete Installation:
- Place the window-lock bracket on the lower window and against the upper window sash.
- Drill a starter hole through the bracket.
- Attach the window-lock bracket to the window sash with wood screws.
- Insert the foam seal behind the top of the lower window sash and against the upper window glass.
- Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
- Press RESET on the power supply cord.
Portable Air Conditioner Use
Operating your portable air conditioner properly ensures the best results. The display shows the current room temperature. When changing modes, the compressor may stop for 3-5 minutes before restarting.
Important Notes:
- The air conditioner display shows the current room temperature.
- When changing modes, the compressor will stop for 3 to 5 minutes before restarting.
- In Cooling or Dry mode, the compressor and condenser fan stop when the room temperature reaches the set temperature.
- In case of a power failure, the unit will resume operation with the previous settings when power is restored.
Starting Your Portable Air Conditioner
Controls: POWER, MODE, FAN, TIMER, SLEEP, ION, SMART, SUPER, CLOCK, UP, DOWN, DIMMER.
Modes:
- Cool: Cools the room. Adjust fan speed (AUTO, HIGH, MID, LOW) and temperature.
- Dry: Dries the room. Fan runs on Low speed only. Not for cooling. Temperature can be adjusted slightly.
- Fan Only: Only the fan runs. Adjust fan speed. Auto fan speed is not available.
- Heat: Heats the room. Adjust fan speed and temperature. (Not available for cooling-only models).
- SUPER: Starts or stops fast cooling or heating. Sets fan to High and temperature to 64°F (18°C) for cooling, or 90°F (32°C) for heating.
- SMART: Automatically sets temperature and fan speed based on room temperature.
Fan Speed: Press FAN to select desired speed (AUTO, HIGH, MID, LOW). AUTO controls speed based on room temperature and settings.
Temperature: Use UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons to adjust temperature. To change between °C and °F, press UP and DOWN simultaneously.
Sleep Mode: Provides a more comfortable environment for sleep. Fan speed is automatically set to Low. The unit will stop operation automatically after 8 hours. In Cooling mode, temperature may increase slightly in the first hour. In Heating mode, temperature may decrease.
I FEEL: The remote control's built-in temperature sensor activates to provide maximum comfort.
DIMMER: Turns off the lights and display on the unit.
Using the Remote Control:
- Aim the remote control at the signal receptor. Operates up to 23' (7m).
- Insert 2 LR03 AAA batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries. Replace batteries when display dims or after 6 months.
- A clip on the back of the unit can store the remote control.
Clock Function
- Press CLOCK to set the time.
- Use UP/DOWN buttons to set the correct time.
- Press CLOCK again to confirm.
- The selected time will be displayed for 5 seconds, then the clock will show on the remote control LCD.
Timer On/Off: Set the timer to turn the unit on or off automatically at a specific time. Configure the clock first.
To turn on Timer ON: Press TIMER ON. "Timer On 12:00" flashes. Use UP/DOWN to set desired time. Press TIMER ON to confirm. A beep will sound, and the TIMER indicator will light up.
To cancel Timer On: Press TIMER ON again. A beep will sound, and the indicator will disappear.
Normal Sounds: Air movement from the fan, clicks from the thermostat, vibrations, and a high-pitched hum from the compressor.
Portable Air Conditioner Care
Draining the Air Conditioner:
- Unplug the unit.
- Move to a drain location or outside.
- Remove the primary drain cover and plug. Drain water completely.
- Reinstall the drain plug and cover.
- Plug in the unit.
Cleaning the Outside:
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove the air filter.
- Wipe the outside with a soft, damp cloth.
- Plug in and turn on the unit.
Cleaning the Air Filter:
- Unplug the unit.
- Open the filter panel door and remove the filter.
- Remove the tapping screw from the condenser air intake filter panel door and remove it.
- Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash with warm water and mild detergent. Do not use harsh chemicals or a dishwasher.
- Air dry the filter completely.
- Reinstall the filter and panel doors.
- Plug in and turn on the unit.
Storing After Use:
- Drain the water completely.
- Run the unit in Fan Only mode for approx. 12 hours to dry.
- Unplug the unit.
- Store the flexible exhaust hose, window kit, and remote control with the air conditioner in a clean, dry area.
- Clean the filter and the outside of the unit.
Troubleshooting
Air conditioner will not operate: Check power cord connection, ensure the power supply cord has not tripped (press RESET), check household fuse/circuit breaker, ensure ON/OFF button is pressed, check for power outage.
Air conditioner power supply cord trips: Check for electrical variations, overloading, overheating, or cord damage. Press RESET after correcting the issue.
Air conditioner seems to run too much: Ensure doors/windows are closed. Newer models may run longer but use less energy. Avoid heat-producing appliances or ensure the room is not heavily occupied.
Air conditioner runs for a short time only, but room is not cool: Lower the set temperature.
Error Codes: E5 indicates water full (drain the unit). E1/E2/E3/E4/EA require customer service.
Air conditioner functions but does not cool: Check if the filter is dirty, air outlet is blocked, or the set temperature is too high.
Air conditioner cycles on and off too much: Ensure the unit is properly sized for the room. Check if the filter is dirty or if there is excessive heat/moisture in the room. Ensure louvers are not blocked.

Warranty
Hisense USA Corp. warrants the product against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers repair or replacement at Hisense's discretion. It does not cover installation, misuse, abuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or products used outside the Contiguous United States.
Exclusions and Limitations: The warranty covers manufacturing defects in normal, noncommercial use. It does not cover consumer instruction, cosmetic damage, acts of nature, etc. The warranty is valid only in the Contiguous United States and applies only to the original consumer. Any unauthorized repairs void the warranty.
