Mounting the Rear Camera
Installation Location Recommendation
Redtiger recommends installing the rear camera outside the car, above the license plate. Installation inside the car may be affected by the windshield.
Installing Outside the Car
1. Tear off the 3M tape on the rear lens and paste it above the license plate.
Removing the Panel
Remove the inner panel of the trunk to expose the rear wiring compartment. Open the trunk and locate a sturdy inner panel covering the license plate area. Use a trim removal tool or thin device to pry it apart.
Routing the Cable
Use a trim removal tool to pop out tailgate trim, then run the cable from outside the car into the trunk.
Connecting Cables
Connect the rear camera's power cable to the extension cable. If you need to install a trigger cable to activate reversing guidelines, find the positive cable of the reversing lamp or consult a professional.
Installing Inside the Car
Step 1: Confirm Accessories
Verify you have: 1 mount bracket (2 black iron sheets), 4 screws (2 small, 2 large).
Step 2: Attach Bracket
Place an iron sheet over the rear camera, align with the hole, and screw it on.
Step 3: Secure Assembly
Join the two iron sheets together and tighten the screws.
Step 4: Final Mounting
Stick the bracket to the rear windshield using 3M glue.
Notes on Rear Camera Installation
Note:
- Installation outside the car provides a far better effect than inside.
- For RVs or pickup trucks, you can install the rear camera forward. Enable "Upside down of rear camera" and disable "Rear Cam" Mirror Image" in settings to adjust the image. A license plate bracket is also available upon request.
Mounting the GPS Module
How to Install the GPS
The GPS module has a front side that should face the sky. Tear off the protective paper to fix it.
Installation Location
Position 1: For optimal GPS signal reception, it is recommended to place the GPS module on the central console or near the edge of the front windshield, using double-sided tape after routing the wiring discreetly.
Redtiger recommends installing the GPS module at Position 1 for optimal use and convenience. Testing in other locations is also possible to find the most suitable spot.
Connecting and Activating GPS
(1) Install the GPS Antenna onto the camera. The GPS Antenna will begin searching for a GPS signal.
(2) Once the GPS is installed and a signal is received, the GPS icon will appear on the home screen, displaying direction and speed (requires "GPS Disp" to be enabled in settings).
