02. Installation
02.01. Dimensions
Diagrams illustrating the physical dimensions of the CCO2-S and CCO2-MOD sensors are provided. The CCO2-S unit measures approximately 114.30 mm in height and 71.12 mm in width. The CCO2-MOD unit has similar dimensions. Detailed measurements for mounting holes and component placement are shown, indicating specific dimensions like 27.96 mm, 14.02 mm, 2 x 4.47 mm, 14.56 mm, and 76.20 mm.
02.02. Cable Specifications and Mounting Location
The recommended cable is 0.50mm² shielded data cable. Mounting instructions include:
- Remove the screw at the bottom of the tab.
- Press tabs on the rear plate and lift the cover.
- Mount the rear plate 1.0 to 1.8 meters above the floor, away from direct airflow (diffusers), doorways, and external influences to ensure accurate CO2 readings.
- Route wires through the base hole and make connections, ensuring cable entry gaps are sealed.
- Secure the cover back to the rear plate.
02.03. DIP Switch Settings
To access DIP switches, remove the CO2 sensor cover. Diagrams show the switch locations for CCO2-S (Tri-Capacity and Hercules) and CCO2-MOD (VCC and Genesis models).
02.03.01. Tri-Capacity and Hercules
Each of the six switches can be set to ON or OFF to configure the output. Diagrams illustrate the settings for all six switches being ON and all six switches being OFF.
Switch Positions:
- DIP Switch Position 1 (CO₂ Output Selection): ON = Voltage Output, OFF = Current Output.
- DIP Switch Position 2 (Not Used): Must always be set to OFF.
DIP Switch Positions 3 and 4 (Current or Voltage Output Range Selection): These switches configure the output range based on Position 1. A table details the output ranges (e.g., 2-10V, 0-10V, 4-20mA) and corresponding switch settings. Specific notes refer to sections 02.04.04 and 02.04.03 for CG10K and Hercules/Tri-Capacity connections, respectively.
A diagram shows the DIP switch setting for a 4-20mA output, applicable to Tri-Capacity (CM100) and Hercules (PKV) units.
02.03.02. Variable Capacity Commercial and Genesis (PKV/CRV and PRV/CRV)
The CCO2-MOD features two DIP switches: SW2 (8-pin) for RS-485 address configuration and SW1 (4-pin) for hardware/software options.
SW2 is used for the RS-485 address. The default is 127, required for ActronAir board communication. To set the address to 127, all SW2 positions should be ON, except for position 1. A diagram shows how to calculate the address by summing the values of the ON switches (e.g., 64+32+16+8+4+2+1 = 127).
SW1 default settings are positions 1 and 2 ON, which are required for ActronAir Board communication. A diagram shows SW1 settings.
Auto Serial Configuration (AUT): This setting enables or disables automatic baud rate detection. If communication fails or serial configuration is incorrect (not 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit), this should be set to OFF for manual configuration. A table describes the Setting Value (ON/OFF) and its Description.
A diagram shows the DIP switch setting for a 0-10VDC output, applicable to CG10K or Tri-Capacity (uPC Controller) units. It notes that voltage divider terminal blocks are required for 0-10VDC operation with a uPC Controller and refers to section 02.04.04 for instructions.
02.04. Wiring Diagram
Detailed wiring diagrams are provided for different models:
- 02.04.01. Hercules Models: Shows connections between the CO2 sensor terminal block and the Hercules terminal block, including power, ground, 4-20mA output, and temperature sensor connections. It specifies cable requirements and notes that CO2 sensors are sold separately and not compatible with third-party controls.
- 02.04.02. Tri-Capacity Models - CM100: Illustrates the connection of the CO2 sensor to the Multi Input 2 terminal block on the Tri-Capacity unit. It includes a Multi Input Selection Table and specifies cable requirements.
- 02.04.03. Tri-Capacity Models - uPC: Details the connection of the CO2 sensor to Multi Input 1 or 2, with an emphasis on Multi Input 2. It highlights the requirement for voltage divider terminal blocks (ActronAir Part No. 2045-080) for 0-10V analogue input.
- 02.04.04. Tri-Cap 0-10VDC Voltage Divider Terminal Block - uPC: Provides step-by-step instructions for installing voltage divider terminal blocks, including removing existing blocks and connecting specific wires (e.g., 064-PK-010, 068-BR-010) to VIN and Ground terminals.
- 02.04.05. Variable Capacity Commercial and Genesis (PKV/CRV and PRV/CRV): Shows wiring diagrams for connecting CO2 sensors and optional humidity sensors to the controller, illustrating possible combinations of sensors.
