  • Do not vacuum wet surfaces, water, or any type of liquids, hot substances, very fine substances (plaster, cement, ash), sharp debris (glass), hazardous products (solvents, paint removers), aggressive products (acids, cleaners), or flammable and explosive products (petrol or alcohol-based).

Before First Use - Recommendations for Use

  • Your vacuum cleaner is an electrical appliance and should be used under normal operating conditions.
  • Check that your vacuum cleaner's voltage matches your domestic power supply.
  • Disconnect the appliance by unplugging the power cord (do not pull the cord): immediately after use, before changing accessories, and before any cleaning, maintenance, or filter replacement.
  • Important: The AC outlet should be protected by a fuse of at least 16 Amps. If the circuit breaker trips when the appliance is switched on, it may be due to other high-power electrical appliances being connected to the same circuit. This can be avoided by setting the appliance to a low power setting before switching it on, and then adjusting to a higher power.
  • Unwind the power cord completely before each use.
  • Do not jam the cord or allow it to rub against sharp edges.
  • If using an extension cord, ensure it is in perfect condition and suitable for your vacuum cleaner's power.
  • Some vacuum cleaners are equipped with a motor overheat protection device. In certain cases (e.g., when using the wand on chairs or sofas), this protection may trigger, causing the appliance to emit an unusual but harmless noise.
  • Ensure all filters are correctly in place.
  • Use only original Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex accessories.
  • If you have difficulty finding accessories or filters for this vacuum cleaner, contact Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex Customer Service.
  • Do not wash vacuum cleaner parts in the dishwasher.
  • For bagged vacuums: Never operate the vacuum cleaner without a bag and filtration system (filter casket*, filter*, foam*, microfilter*). Use only original Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex bags and filters.
  • For bagless vacuums: Never operate the vacuum cleaner without the filtration system (filter casket*, foam*, microfilter*, and filter*). Do not replace the foam and microfilter until they are completely dry. Use only original Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex filters.

Eco-Design Instructions

This vacuum cleaner is designed for general use.

  • For carpets: To achieve eco-design performance on carpets, use the dual position vacuum head with the brush retracted.
  • For hard floors with joints and grooves: Use either the nozzle for smooth floors with grooves (a) without the removable brush, or the dual position vacuum head with the brush retracted (not equipped with additional accessory, depending on model). The methods used are described in Directive 666/2013.
  • For delicate smooth floors (e.g., parquet, laminate, tiles): Use the nozzle for smooth floors with grooves and the removable brush (a+b), or the dual position vacuum head with the brush extended.

Troubleshooting

IMPORTANT: If your vacuum cleaner is operating poorly, switch it off using the ON/OFF pedal before performing any checks.

Repairs should only be performed by specialists using original spare parts. If a problem persists, take your vacuum cleaner to the nearest Approved Service Centre or contact Customer Services.

  • If your vacuum cleaner does not start: Check that the appliance is correctly plugged in.
  • If the suction attachment is difficult to move: Reduce power by opening the mechanical power control on the handle or moving the electronic power control switch to the MIN position. Ensure the nozzle position is suitable for the floor being vacuumed (brush retracted for carpets, extended for hard floors).
  • If the power cord does not wind up completely: Pull the cord out again and press the power cord rewind pedal.
  • If your vacuum cleaner stops during use: The thermal safety mechanism has triggered. Check the tube and hose for blockages, and ensure the bag and filters are not saturated. Allow the appliance to cool for 30 minutes before restarting.
  • Bagged Vacuums - Less suction, noise, or whistling: Partial blockage in accessory/hose (unblock). Bag full/saturated (replace/empty bag). Lid not closed properly (check bag/holder/EPA filter placement). Filters saturated (clean/change filtration system). Bag indicator red (bag saturated or filter system saturated). Lid not closing (check bag holder/bag/EPA filter/microfilter placement).
  • Bagless Vacuums - Less suction, noise, or whistling: Partial blockage (unblock). Filtration system saturated (clean/replace EPA filter, foam filter, microfilter). Dust compartment full (empty/wash). Lid not positioned correctly (close lid). Dust collector not fitted correctly (reposition). Air outlet grill fitted incorrectly (reposition). Microfilter/foam filter missing (replace). EPA filter/washable filter missing (replace). Lid not closing (check EPA filter casket/separator/dust box placement).
