Warranty Information

This appliance is for domestic use only. Misuse or use not conforming to instructions will void the warranty and release the brand from liability. Read instructions carefully before first use.

Safety Instructions

For your safety, this appliance complies with all existing standards and regulations.

  • Do not use if the power cord is damaged. The cord and rewinder must be replaced by an Approved Service Centre.
  • Never leave the vacuum on unsupervised.
  • Keep the nozzle or tube end away from eyes and ears.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and body parts away from openings and moving parts, especially the rotating brush.
  • Turn off the appliance before installing or uninstalling the rotating brush.
  • Do not vacuum wet surfaces, water, liquids, hot substances, ultra-fine substances (plaster, cement, ashes), large sharp debris (glass), hazardous products (solvents, abrasives), aggressive products (acids, cleaning products), or flammable/explosive products (oil or alcohol based).
  • Never immerse the appliance in water; do not spill water on it, and do not store it outdoors.
  • Do not use if dropped and showing visible damage or malfunctions.
  • For countries subject to EU regulations: May be used by children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities if trained and supervised, aware of risks. Children should not play with or clean/maintain the appliance unsupervised. Keep appliance and cord out of reach of children.
  • For other countries: Not intended for persons (including children) with reduced capabilities or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

Before First Use

Recommendations for use:

  • Your vacuum cleaner is an electrical appliance; use in normal operating conditions.
  • Check that the voltage matches your domestic power supply.
  • Disconnect by unplugging without pulling the cord: immediately after use, before changing accessories, before cleaning/maintenance/filter changes.
  • Important: AC outlet must be protected by a 16A fuse. If breaker trips, other high-power appliances may be connected. Avoid by setting low power first.
  • Unwind power cord completely before each use.
  • Do not jam or rub cord against sharp edges.
  • If using an extension cord, ensure it's in perfect condition and suited to the vacuum's power.
  • Some vacuums have overheating protection. This may trip (e.g., on sofas) causing unusual noise, which is not serious.
  • Check filters are in place.
  • Use only original Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex accessories.
  • Contact Rowenta/Tefal/Moulinex Customer Service for accessory/filter difficulties.
  • If bag vacuum: Do not operate without a bag or filtration system (filter casket, filter, foam, microfilter). Use original bags/filters.
  • If bagless vacuum: Do not operate without a filtration system (filter casket, foam, microfilter, filter). Do not insert foam/microfilter unless completely dry. Use original filters.

Energy Label Information

This vacuum cleaner is for general use. Models RH8011xx and RH8111xx are for hard floors.

To achieve energy efficiency and cleaning performance on carpets, use the two/three-position vacuum head with the brush retracted. (Diagram description: Shows a vacuum cleaner head with two positions for brush control: retracted 'a' and extended 'b', used for different floor types like carpets).

To achieve energy efficiency and cleaning performance on hard floors with joins and grooves, use the two/three-position vacuum head with the brush retracted. If not provided, use the softcare vacuum head with slits (a) without the removable row of bristles (b). (Diagram description: Shows a vacuum cleaner head with brush retracted 'a' and extended 'b' for hard floor cleaning, and a separate nozzle with slits 'a' and removable bristles 'b').

Values determined using methods in regulations 665/2013 and 666/2013.

For fragile smooth floors (parquet, laminate, tiles), use:

  • Smooth flooring nozzle with slits, with removable bristles (a+b).
  • Two/three-position vacuum head with the brush protruding.

Repair Service

IMPORTANT: If performance decreases, switch off before checking. Repairs by specialists only, using original parts. Contact nearest Approved Service Centre or Customer Services for persistent problems.

If your vacuum cleaner does not function:

  • Check it's plugged in correctly.

If the suction attachment is difficult to move:

  • Reduce power via control on butt or switch to MIN.
  • Ensure nozzle position matches floor: retracted brush for carpets/rugs, extended brush for parquet/smooth floors.

If the power cord does not wind up completely:

  • Cord is slow to wind: pull out again and press rewind pedal.

If your vacuum cleaner stops during use:

  • Thermal safety mechanism triggered. Check tube/hose for blockage. Check bag/filters are not saturated. Let cool for 30 minutes before restarting.

Troubleshooting

Vacuum cleaners with bag

If suction is poor, noisy, whistling, or no suction:

  • Accessory/hose partially blocked: unblock.
  • Bag full/saturated: replace bag or empty textile bag.
  • Lid not closed properly: check bag, holder, EPA filter casket placement and close lid.
  • Filters saturated: clean/change filtration system (EPA casket, washable EPA filter casket, microfilter).

If bag warning light is red:

  • Bag saturated: replace bag or empty textile bag.
  • Light remains red after replacement: filtration system saturated.

If the lid does not close:

  • Check bag, bag holder, EPA filter casket, or microfilter casket are correctly placed.

Bagless vacuum cleaner

If suction is poor, noisy, whistling, or no suction:

  • Accessory/hose partially blocked: unblock.
  • Filtration system saturated: clean/replace EPA filter casket, black foam filter, or microfilter.
  • Dust compartment full: empty and wash.
  • Vacuum lid not positioned correctly: close lid correctly.
  • Dust collector not fitted properly: reposition correctly.
  • Air outlet grill fitted incorrectly: reposition correctly.
  • Missing microfilter/foam filter: replace in air outlet grill.
  • Missing EPA filter/washable filter: replace in vacuum cleaner.

If the lid does not close:

  • Check EPA filter casket and separator are correctly repositioned.
  • Check dust box is well positioned in dust tray housing.
