Appearance

The Smart Power Strip features 6 individual smart outlets with control buttons and status LEDs. The SYS Wi-Fi, Grounded, and Protected LEDs change color to indicate status. The power strip includes:

  • 1. SYS Wi-Fi LED: Indicates Wi-Fi connection status (Orange: Rebooting; Blinking Orange/Green: Setup mode; Blinking Green: Searching for Wi-Fi; White: Connected to Wi-Fi).
  • 2. Grounded LED: Lit when the outlet is properly grounded.
  • 3. Protected LED: Lit when the device is under surge protection.
  • 4. Smart Outlets (1-6): Numbered from left to right, each outlet is independent and can be controlled via the Kasa app.
  • 5. LED of Smart Outlet: Lit when the corresponding smart outlet is on.
  • 6. Control Button (1-6): Press to turn the corresponding outlet on/off. Press and hold for 5s to re-enable setup mode. Press and hold for 10s to restore factory default settings.
  • 7. USB Ports: For charging devices (5V/2.4A each, 5V/4A total).
  • 8. Main Switch: Turns the entire power strip on or off.
  • Back Panel: Contains a RESET button.

Set Up Your Smart Power Strip

Follow these steps to set up your Smart Power Strip using the Kasa Smart app:

  1. Download and Install Kasa App: Go to Google Play or the Apple App Store, or scan the QR code to download the Kasa app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet.
  2. Log In or Sign Up with TP-Link ID: Open the app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have one, tap 'Create Account' and follow the app's guidance.
  3. Add Device: Tap the '+' button in the Kasa app, select 'Smart Power Strip', and follow the step-by-step app instructions to complete the setup. The app interface shows options to add various Kasa devices like Smart Plugs, Smart Power Strips, Smart Switches, and Smart 3-Way Switches.

Main Device Controls

After setup, the Kasa app's Home Page displays the status of all added devices. You can manage each of the 6 smart outlets of the HS300 individually.

Kasa App Interface

The app provides a 'Home Page' view listing your smart plugs and their on/off status, and a 'Device Status' screen for detailed control and management of individual outlets.

Configure Your Smart Power Strip

Within the Kasa app's 'Device Status' page, you can configure various settings for your smart outlets:

  • Set Schedule: Create custom schedules to automatically turn outlets on or off at specific times.
  • Preset Away Mode: Set the Away Mode to have your smart outlet randomly turn on/off during a specified period, simulating occupancy.
  • Set Timer: Configure a timer for outlets to turn on or off automatically after a set duration.
  • Check Usage: View and track the energy consumption of connected devices, showing current runtime, total runtime, and daily averages.
  • Device Settings: Access and change various settings for your smart outlets, including renaming, assigning icons, and enabling remote control via voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Create Scenes

A scene is a preset group of smart devices that can be programmed, customized, and activated simultaneously with a single tap from your smartphone or tablet. Scenes allow you to easily set your mood, activity, or automate actions for special occasions.

Discover Kasa

Integrate your Kasa Smart Power Strip with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, and other smart home platforms like Nest for a hands-free experience. This allows for voice control and automated actions based on your presence (e.g., arriving home or leaving).

To set up these integrations, navigate to 'Add Device' > 'WORKS WITH KASA' in the Kasa app and select the desired service (e.g., Nest Home and Away, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant) for detailed instructions.
