Introduction and Environmental Requirements
This manual provides instructions for the quick installation of the Growatt APX 5.0~30.0P-S2 battery system. Ensure the following environmental conditions are met:
- Maximum Temperature: +50°C
- Minimum Temperature: -10°C
- Relative Humidity: +5% to +95%
Recommended installation tools include M6 screws.

Installation Environment Notes
Build a sun and rain shade for modules to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and rain.
Floor Installation with Base
Installation Location Requirements:
- Ensure a minimum clearance of 300mm around the installation area.
- Vertical clearance requirement: 2300mm.
- Horizontal clearance requirement: 500-600mm.
Note: For floor installation with a base, the maximum stack number of batteries is six. If the battery count exceeds four, it is recommended to stack them in two lines.
Installation Procedure:

- Install the connecting pieces on both sides of the base and tighten the two screws.
- Install the anti-tipping plate on both sides and tighten the two screws.
- Place the Battery Module onto the base, ensuring it is level.
- Secure the module by tightening the screws.
Module Stacking Procedure:
- Loosen two screws on the module handle, then move the handle up on both sides.
- Tighten the two screws to fix the battery modules together.
- Install connecting pieces on both sides and tighten the screws.
- Secure the stacked modules to the wall if necessary.
Wall-Mounted Installation
Installation Location Requirements:
- Ensure a minimum clearance of 300mm around the installation area.
- Vertical clearance requirement: 2300mm.
- Horizontal clearance requirement: 500-600mm.
Note: The number of wall-mount installations should not exceed five. The wall's weight capacity must exceed 280kg.

- Use an install-location card to mark alignment points on the wall.
- Drill mounting holes (Dia 8.0mm, Depth 45-50mm) on the wall.
- Install the M6 explosive screws into the drilled holes.
- Install the wall bracket onto the wall using the M6 explosive screws.
- Place the Battery Module onto the wall bracket, ensuring it is level.
- Install the anti-tipping plate on both sides and tighten the two screws.
- Install the connecting pieces on both sides and tighten the two screws.
- Secure the module to the wall bracket.
Module Fixing Procedure:
- Loosen two screws on the module handle, then move the handle up on both sides.
- Tighten the two screws to fix the battery and power modules.
Wiring and Connections
APX 98034-P2 (Power Module) Connection End Face Introduction:
The connection end face includes terminals for:
- BAT-: Battery negative terminal to PCS
- BAT N: Battery neutral terminal to PCS
- BAT+: Battery positive terminal to PCS
- INV: Inverter communication to PCS
- COM: Communication port
- RS485_B(B): RS485 communication B signal
- RS485_A(A): RS485 communication A signal
- BMU: Battery module communication to battery (Link-in) module
- Module+: Battery module positive terminal to battery (B+) module
- Module-: Battery module negative terminal to battery (B-) module
- USB: USB terminal
APX 5.0P-B1 (Battery Module) Connection End Face Introduction:
The connection end face includes terminals for:
- Link-in: Communication link-in to another battery (Link-out) or power module (BMU).
- Link-out: Communication link-out to another battery (Link-in) module.
- B+: Battery positive terminal to another battery (B+) module.
- B-: Battery negative terminal to another battery (B-) module.
- USB: USB terminal.
Battery Capacity Expansion:
The battery system supports power and capacity expansion. Two power control modules can be connected in parallel. One power control module supports a maximum of four battery expansion modules.

Wiring Connection Diagram:
Connect the battery system to the PCS using the appropriate cables. The connection sequence involves ground cable, communication cable, and power cable.
Note: It is not recommended to install a DC circuit breaker between the battery system and the PCS. If a DC circuit breaker is installed, its rated working voltage must be greater than 1000V and its rated working current greater than 63A. Do not operate the DC circuit breaker with power on, as this may damage the equipment.
Routing Cables:
Route cables out of the designated cable holes on the APX 98034-P2 trim covers.

Terminal and Trim-cover Installation
Power Terminal Connection:
Connect the battery side wire harness to the corresponding terminals. Press the indicated position on the terminal before disconnecting to prevent damage.
Install Trim-cover:
Install the trim covers after all connections are made.
Key Operation
Power On:
- Turn on the DC Switch.
- Press the start key for more than 5 seconds.
System Off:
- Turn off the DC Switch.
- Wait for more than 90 seconds.
Note: When multiple battery systems are connected in parallel, pressing the start key on one module is sufficient to start the entire system.
