Yorkville PSA26/PSA28 Powered Line Array Speakers
Owner's Manual
Introduction
The Paraline series offers premium powered line array speakers with integrated amplifiers. They are designed for easy setup, simplicity of use, essential features, and high output in compact cabinets.
Configuration
The PSA26 and PSA28 can be used in ground stack or flown configurations. When flown, up to twelve enclosures can be connected in a vertical array using the integrated 3-point rigging hardware.
Control Panel
All controls are local and must be adjusted on each connected enclosure. Controls do not affect the signal at the Main Out jack.
1. Main In / Main Out Jacks
Input and output jacks are connected in parallel. To link multiple cabinets, connect a line-level signal to the Main In jack of the first enclosure, then connect the Main Out to the Main In of the next cabinet. Enclosures must be powered on for audio to pass from the Main Out jack.
2. Gain Control
Sets the enclosure's output level to balance volume across the system. The indicator light above the Gain knob shows signal activity (green), limiting (orange), and clipping (red). Levels should be set so the LED is primarily green during use, and the red clipping indicator does not illuminate when the Gain control is at 12:00.
3. w/SUB Switch
Activates a 100 Hz high-pass filter, recommended when using the enclosure with a subwoofer. The switch ring illuminates when active.
4. HF Boost Switch
Activates a 2 dB boost at 8 kHz to enhance high-end clarity for distant audience areas. The switch ring illuminates when active.
5. Nearfield Switch
Reduces the horn's output level. Recommended for enclosures in the curved segment of arrays of four or more speakers, typically aimed at audiences closest to the stage. The switch ring illuminates when active.
6. Array Size Selection
Provides EQ compensation to counteract low-frequency buildup from multiple enclosures. Set based on the total number of enclosures in the vertical array: 0-3 (off), 4-6 (mild), 7-9 (moderate), 10-12 (heavy).
Mounting and Environmental Features
Stand Mounting Adapter
Enclosures feature 35 mm (1 3/8") adapters for use with the Yorkville SW-TUBEHD mounting pole. A maximum of two top enclosures can be used together on the SW-TUBEHD with a subwoofer as the base. For tripod use, use stands specifically designed for line array enclosures to prevent tipping. Ensure any base is on a flat, level surface and observe weight limits and maximum enclosure size/number.
Flying Rig
Refer to the supplemental Rigging Manual.
IP54 Rating
PSA26 and PSA28 enclosures are IP54 rated for outdoor use, protected against dust and splashing water. They are not protected against high-pressure water jets or submersion. For safe outdoor use, ensure powerCON® or XLR connections are fully inserted and protective covers/gaskets for unused connectors are seated correctly. Use Neutrik-branded connectors for IP54 rating. Ambient temperatures should be between 0° and 45° Celsius (32° to 113° Fahrenheit).
Power
Features locking powerCON® connectors for power input and pass-through, allowing daisy-chaining. Each unit includes a 12-foot powerCON® cable. A shorter cable like the Yorkville PSACABLELOOP can be used for connecting multiple units. A maximum of four PSA26 or three PSA28 can be connected on a single 15A circuit. For subwoofer use on a 15A circuit, the combined total amperage should not exceed 12A. For larger configurations, powering subwoofers separately is recommended. The power connector is rated for outdoor use and is IP54 rated when a power cable is connected or the cap is closed. Outdoor installations require mains receptacles to follow outdoor installation code and feature GFCI protection.
Convenience Power Receptacle
A convenience outlet allows multiple units to share a single power cord, minimizing wiring and improving safety. Always inspect cords and plugs before use. Do not use damaged cords or outlets. Route cords away from traffic. Never break off the third prong on a plug. Keep cords away from heat, water, and oil. Avoid tying cords in tight knots. Be aware of unusually warm outlets or cords, which may indicate unsafe wiring.

Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the signal flow for the Paraline PSA26/PSA28 powered speakers. The input signal enters via the Main In jack, which is buffered to the Main Out. Controls like w/SUB, HF Boost, Nearfield, and Array Size are processed by the DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The Level control adjusts the overall output. The DSP then routes the signal to the LF (Low Frequency) and HF (High Frequency) amplifiers, which drive the respective speaker drivers.
