Product Care Information

Battery charge

Charge the battery using the provided USB cable with any of the following power supplies:

A full charge takes approximately 1-2 hours. Avoid letting the battery completely deplete before charging. It is best to charge the battery as needed, but not more than once a week. Battery percentage can be viewed via the Acaia apps.

Note: Using a fast-charging block or hub delivering over 5V at 1A may damage the Acaia scale's circuit board.

Calibration

Follow these steps for calibration:

  1. Turn on scale: Turn on the Acaia scale.
  2. Tap T button: Ensure the scale is in weighing mode and the unit is set to 'gram'. Tap the 'T' button rapidly.
  3. See CAL display: Continue tapping the 'T' button until 'CAL' is shown on the display.
  4. Place a weight: Place a 100 g, 500 g, or 1000 g weight on the scale. Wait until the display shows '_End_'. Calibration is now complete.

Sleep Timer Setting [SLEEP ]

  1. Sleep Timer settings can also be configured in the Acaia apps.
  2. The number indicates the time before the scale automatically powers off. For example, when 10 is selected, the scale powers off after 10 minutes of idle time if disconnected from mobile devices.

Zero Tracking Setting [trAcE]

  1. Zero Tracking automatically maintains the zero indication within set limits.
  2. OFF: Disabling Zero Tracking is not recommended as the zero indication can drift with temperature changes.
  3. 0.5 d ~ 3 d: For standard resolution, each division is 0.1 g; 3 d = 0.3 g. With Zero Tracking set to 3 d, initial weights between ± 0.3 g on the weighing pan are gradually zeroed out.
  4. 2 d is recommended for the Acaia Lunar.

Key Sound Setting [bEEP ]

  1. Key Sound settings can also be configured in the Acaia apps.
  2. Enable or disable the beeping sound using this function.

Zero Range Setting [ O.rAnGE]

  1. The Zero Range setting determines the range for which the tare button executes zero operation instead of tare.
  2. When Zero Range is set to 2, the zero-setting range is 2% of capacity (± 40 g for Acaia Lunar). Weights within ± 40 g are zeroed out; weights outside this range are tared.
  3. If Zero Range is set to 100, the zero-setting range is 100% of capacity (± 2 kg for Acaia Lunar). Zero operation is executed for any tare button press within this range.

Notice: Zero operation ignores weight and displays 0, while tare operation deducts weight from the result. Zero operation does not increase scale capacity.

Weighing Filter Setting [Filt.]

  1. The Weighing Filter Setting determines the response speed to weight and the weighing value. A larger number provides a more stable but slower result. The LED display shows the current filter setting.
  2. Press the Tare button to change the parameter.

Default Unit Setting [ Unit]

  1. The Default Weighing Unit is set to grams if [ g ] is selected and ounces if [ oz ] is selected.

Weighing Resolution Setting [rESOL]

  1. The default Weighing Resolution is set to [ dEFAUL ], with a division of 0.1 g / 0.002 oz.
  2. Tap the Tare button to switch between [ DEFAUL ] and [ hi Gh ] resolution.
  3. In high resolution, the division is 0.01 g / 0.0005 oz. The default display shows [ 0.00 ] for grams and [ 0.0000 ] for ounces in Weighing Mode.

Note: With high Weighing Resolution, the default display in Dual Display Mode and Auto Start Modes shows [ 0:00 0.00 ].

  2. ON: Weighing Mode is enabled.
  3. OFF: Weighing Mode is disabled.

Bluetooth Setup Setting [bt_SEt ]

  1. OFF: Bluetooth is disabled. No Bluetooth connection is allowed.
  2. ON: Bluetooth is enabled. The scale allows Bluetooth connection to Acaia apps.

Battery Saving [bAtt SAvE]

  1. Save up to 20% battery by dimming the display after a period of inactivity. Brightness returns to normal when objects are detected on the scale.
  2. The number indicates the time before the scale enters battery saving mode.
  3. Tap the Tare button to cycle through options.

Pre-Infusion Time Out [PrE_inFu ]

  1. Determines when the scale times out in all three Auto-Start modes. This setting is useful for long pre-infusion times and resolves timeouts that occur with slow pre-infusion.
  2. The number indicates the time in seconds before the scale resets if no espresso flow or weight is detected.

Auto-Start Sensitivity [ SENSE ]

  1. Minimum weight is decreased for enhanced sensitivity, ideal for slower espresso shots in droplet icon modes. Stability depends on environmental noise. Previous firmware initiated the timer at approximately 0.6 g into an espresso shot.
  2. The number indicates the sensitivity of flow detection in droplet icon modes. Smaller values mean higher sensitivity but are recommended only for stable environments.

Auto-Reset [Auto_rES]

  1. After a cup is removed, the timer automatically resets. This allows users to pull successive espresso shots quickly in the three Auto-Start modes.
  2. The number indicates the timeout value for timer reset after a cup is removed.

Reset To Default Setting [ rESEt.d]

  1. Select [ YES ] to reset all settings to their default values.
  2. Press and hold the Tare button for 1 second until [ SLEEP ] is shown on the LED to reset all settings to default.
