1 Hardware Installation
If you access the Internet by ADSL, please follow steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 in order. If you access the Internet by residential broadband, please follow steps 2, 3, and 4 to connect the WAN port of your router directly with the residential broadband.

Ports Description
Port | Function |

DC IN | Used for connecting the power adapter. |
ON/OFF | Used for power on or off the router. |
1/2/3/4 LAN | Used for connecting the router to a local PC. Light on when LAN port is successfully connected. Light blinks while transmitting or receiving data. |
WAN | Used for connecting the router to the Internet. Light on when WAN port connected successfully. Light blinks while transmitting or receiving data. |
Reset/WPS | Reset: Press the button for about 5~8 seconds to restore factory settings. WPS: Press the button for about 1~3 seconds to enable the router WPS function. |
LED Indicators
Indicator | Description |
---|---|
POWER | Light on when router is powered on. |
CPU | Light is on when the system is working. |
WIFI | The indicator light is on when Wi-Fi is enabled. |
WAN | Light on when WAN port connected successfully. Light blinking while transmitting or receiving data. |
1/2/3/4 LAN | Light on when the LAN port successful connected. Light blinking while transmitting or receiving data. |
Notes on Installation
- Please disconnect the power adapter and all cables during thunderstorm weather.
- Keep away from heat sources and ensure good ventilation.
- Pay attention to waterproofing and moisture-proofing during storage, transportation, and operation.
- The power adapter must be original or approved by TOTOLINK.
- Place the router on a flat surface.
2 Set Up PC
Configure your PC's network settings to obtain an IP address and DNS server address automatically.
For Windows Vista/7 Operating System
Follow these steps:
- Click Start ➔ Control Panel ➔ Network and Internet ➔ Network Connection.
- Right-click 'Local Area Connection' and choose 'Properties'.
- Double-click 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'.
- Select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'. Click OK, then click OK again.
For Windows 8 Operating System
Follow these steps:
- Click Start ➔ Control Panel ➔ Network and Sharing Center ➔ Change adapter setting.
- Right-click 'Ethernet' and choose 'Properties'.
- Double-click 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'.
- Select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'. Click OK, then click OK again.
3 Set Up Router
Please set up the router following these steps:
- Run any Web browser.
- Type
192.168.1.1
in the web browser address bar and press Enter. - Enter the default User Name ('admin') and Password ('admin'), then click LOGIN.
- The 'Easy Setup' interface will appear.
- Choose the WAN Access Type (e.g., PPPoE, Dynamic IP, Static IP) and enter the parameters provided by your Internet Service Provider. For PPPoE, you will need to enter your username and password.
- Wireless Settings: You can change or retain your SSID (wireless network name). For encryption, WPA2 Mixed type is selected with a default Wi-Fi password. You can choose to change it or not.
- IPTV Settings: By default, IPTV is disabled. If you enable this function, please enter the VLAN ID and choose the correct IPTV port. Then click 'Apply' to save the settings.
- Wait for a while; the Internet connection should be successful. Click 'Finish'.
- The router’s Status interface will display the connection type and the IP address & DNS you have obtained.
- Try any website to test the Internet. For example, type
www.totolink.net
.
Note: After setting the Pre-Shared Key, remember your SSID and Pre-Shared Key to connect your wireless LAN.

When connecting a new Wi-Fi device for the first time:
- On your device, go to Settings ➔ Wi-Fi.
- Select 'TOTOLINK N300RT' and enter the Wi-Fi password shown on the product label.
- Once connected, the web page of TOTOLINK N300RT should pop up automatically.
4 FAQ
How to reset the router to default settings?
- Ensure the router's power is on.
- Press and hold the RST-WPS button for approximately 5-8 seconds.
- Release the button when all router LEDs flash quickly. The router has now been reset to default settings.
Forget the password?
Please reset your router to default settings first, and then set a new password. The default IP is 192.168.1.1
, the default User Name is admin
, and the default Password is admin
.
Where could I find the default Wi-Fi password of the device?
Generally, a product label with the Wi-Fi password is stuck on the front side of the device. Alternatively, you can find it by navigating to Wireless ➔ WPS Settings ➔ Current Key Info ➔ Key in the router's interface. If your router has been reset to factory default settings, use the default Wi-Fi password to connect wirelessly.
