1 Description
This programmable thermostat is designed to control electric heating systems, including electric baseboard heaters, radiant ceilings, radiant floors, convectors, and fan-forced heaters.
It is not suitable for the following applications:
- Resistive loads exceeding 16.7 A
- Resistive loads below 2 A
- Systems controlled by contactors or relays (inductive loads)
- Central heating systems
Supplied Parts:
- One (1) thermostat
- Two (2) 6-32 screws
- Two (2) solderless connectors
2 Installation
WARNING: TURN OFF POWER TO THE HEATING SYSTEM AT THE MAIN POWER PANEL TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK. INSTALLATION MUST BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
Ensure all cables and connections comply with local electrical codes. Use special CO/ALR solderless connectors for aluminum conductors.
Mount the thermostat on an electrical box, approximately 5 feet (1.5 meters) high, on an interior wall facing the heater. Avoid locations with air drafts, dead air spots, or direct sunlight. Do not install on walls concealing chimney or stove pipes.
The thermostat wires are not polarized; either wire can connect to the load or power supply.
Wiring:
- Connect the thermostat wires to the line wires and load wires using solderless connectors for copper wires.
- 2-wire installation
- 4-wire installation
- Push any excess wire back into the electrical box.
Note: If necessary, configure the thermostat (see Section 3) before re-installing the front component.
Return power to the heating system.
3 Configuration
Configuration switches are located on the back of the thermostat. Factory settings are indicated in the table below:
Switch | Setting | Factory Default |
---|---|---|
SW1 Early Start | Off / On | Off |
SW2 Display format | °C / 24-hour / °F / 12-hour | °C / 24-hour |
SW3 Cycle length | Short / Long | Short |
SW4 Keypad lock | Off / On | Off |
Early Start: Enables the thermostat to calculate the optimal start time for heating in Automatic mode to reach the desired temperature by the set time. It re-assesses the start time daily based on previous performance.
Cycle Length: Short cycles are recommended for better temperature control. Long cycles are required for fan-forced heaters; the word 'FAN' will display when long cycles are selected.
Keypad Lock: When locked, temperature adjustment buttons only allow viewing the setpoint.

7 Schedule
The schedule allows for 4 periods per day (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep). You can program specific times for each period, or skip periods if they are not needed (e.g., for weekends).
Comfort ([Comfort Icon]
) temperature is used for periods 1 and 3; Economy ([Economy Icon]
) temperature is used for periods 2 and 4.
You can set a different schedule for each day of the week.
Default Schedule Example:
Period | Description | Setting |
---|---|---|
1 | Wake | 6:00 AM |
2 | Leave | 8:00 AM |
3 | Return | 6:00 PM |
4 | Sleep | 10:00 PM |
(This schedule repeats Monday through Friday. Weekends may have different settings or be skipped.)
To modify the schedule:
- Press
Pgm
to enter programming mode. Period 1 is selected. - Press
Day

8 Power Outage
During a power outage, 'LP' (Low Power) appears for the first minute, then the screen goes blank. Settings are retained in memory.
If a power failure exceeds 4 hours, the clock must be reset, and the Daylight Savings Time function may need to be re-enabled.
When power is restored, the thermostat will resume the mode active before the outage.
9 Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
Thermostat is hot | Normal operation. Housing may reach 35-40°C (95-104°F). |
'LO' displayed | Measured temperature is below display range; heating is active. |
'HI' displayed | Measured temperature is above display range. |
Incorrect temperature displayed | Check for drafts or if the protective screen sticker has not been removed. |
Incorrect time displayed | The thermostat was without power for over 4 hours. |
Temperature does not change per schedule | Ensure thermostat is in Automatic mode. Verify schedule and clock settings. |
'LP' on screen or blank screen (no outage) | The heater's thermal circuit breaker may have tripped due to overheating (e.g., obstruction) or a defect. |
Display is dim during heating | The heating system's minimum load may be too low for the thermostat's rating. |
Settings cannot be changed | Settings are locked (see Section 3). |
