Accessory Installation
Door Limit & Magnetic Reed Switches: Mars offers switches with NEMA 1, 4X, and 7 ratings for automatic on/off control based on door position. Installation diagrams illustrate various switch types and mounting methods for different door styles (swing, sliding, roll-up).
Diagrams show typical installations of door limit switches and magnetic reed switches on doors and frames, including wiring to junction boxes.
Bracket Installation: Various mounting brackets are available, including Side Extension Plates, Adjustable Mounting Brackets, and Extended Wall Mounting Brackets, to accommodate different doorway widths and door types (e.g., roll-up doors, sectional doors). Top mounting brackets are also available for overhead installations.
Diagrams illustrate bracket installations for different door types and mounting scenarios, showing components like extension plates, adjustable brackets, and threaded rods.
Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manual
General Safety: Emphasizes using the product as intended, ensuring qualified personnel perform installation, and adhering to all safety precautions to prevent electric shock, injury from moving parts, or other hazards. Always disconnect power before servicing.
Receiving & Inspection: Check for shipping damage upon delivery and notify the carrier.
Unpacking: Verify all parts and components.
Installation:
- Mounting: Typically overhead above doors, flush with the ceiling. Extended wall mounting brackets are available.
- Tandem units require specific spacing (max 6" between units).
- Wiring must be internal and per NEC/local codes.
- Ensure proper motor rotation for three-phase units.
- Adjust discharge nozzle vanes to 10-15° outward.
Start-Up: Perform checks on installation security, wiring, voltage, components, air supply, filters, and then power on. For heated units, follow specific supplement instructions. Verify blower wheel rotation for three-phase units.
Maintenance: Routine cleaning (recommended every six months) is crucial for performance. Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a damp cloth with mild soap or degreaser. Motors are permanently lubricated.
Special Applications: Considerations for outdoor and freezer/cooler installations are noted. VFDs are recommended for freezer applications.
