Handling the Remote Controller
Location of the Remote Controller
Keep the remote controller within 8 meters of the indoor unit's receiver for optimal signal transmission. Ensure the controller can transmit signals without obstruction. Obstructions may cause a time lag of up to 15 minutes for timer operations.
Cautions for Handling
- Ensure curtains, doors, or other materials do not block signals between the remote and the indoor unit.
- Prevent liquid spills into the remote controller.
- Do not expose the remote controller to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- If the indoor unit's infrared receiver is exposed to direct sunlight, the air conditioner may not function properly. Use curtains to shield the receiver.
- If other electrical appliances react to the remote controller, move those appliances or consult a dealer.
Replacing Batteries
The remote control uses two R03/LR03 dry batteries.
- Slide the battery compartment cover off.
- Replace old batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) is observed.
- Reattach the cover by sliding it back into place.
After replacing batteries, it is recommended to set the remote controller's clock.
Setting the Clock
Setting the clock is necessary for the remote controller to function correctly, especially for timer operations. The clock display is active even when the air conditioner is off.
Initial Setting of the Clock
- After inserting batteries, the clock display will show "12:00".
- Press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds; the time will begin to flash.
- Use the TEMP/TIME button: press `+` to advance time by one minute (or 10 minutes when held), press `-` to move time backward by one minute (or 10 minutes when held).
- Once the correct time is displayed, press the CLOCK button again, or release the `+`/`-` buttons and wait 5 seconds. The time will stop flashing and the clock will start operating.
Readjusting the Clock
To change the time after initial setting, press the CLOCK button for about 3 seconds until the display flashes, then follow steps 1 and 2 of the initial setting.
Note: The clock must be set before the AUTO-TIMER feature will operate. Clock accuracy is within 15 seconds per day.
Caution: Static electricity or high voltage can reset the clock. If the clock displays "12:00" (flashing), readjust it before use.
Operation Modes
Automatic Operation
In AUTO mode, the air conditioner automatically selects cooling, heating (if applicable), or fan-only operation based on the selected temperature and the current room temperature. Once set, these conditions are saved in the unit's memory.
To Start:
- Ensure the unit is plugged in and powered. The OPERATION indicator on the indoor unit will flash.
- Press the MODE button to select AUTO.
- Use the TEMP/TIME button to set the desired temperature (typically between 21°C/70°F and 28°C/83°F).
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.
To Stop: Press the ON/OFF button again.
If AUTO mode is not comfortable, manual adjustments can be made. Fan speed is automatically controlled in AUTO mode.
Cooling/Heating/Fan Only Operation
To Start:
- Ensure the unit is plugged in and powered. The OPERATION indicator on the indoor unit will flash.
- Press the MODE button to select COOL, HEAT (if available), or FAN ONLY.
- Use the TEMP/TIME button to set the desired temperature (typically between 21°C/70°F and 28°C/83°F).
- Press the FAN SPEED button to select the fan speed: AUTO, LOW (///), MED (//////), or HIGH (/////////).
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.
To Stop: Press the ON/OFF button again.
Note: For FAN ONLY mode, temperature control is not applicable. Only steps 1, 3, and 4 are needed.
Drying Operation
To Start:
- Ensure the unit is plugged in and powered. The OPERATION indicator on the indoor unit will flash.
- Press the MODE button to select DRY.
- Use the TEMP/TIME button to set the desired temperature (between 21°C/70°F and 28°C/83°F).
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.
To Stop: Press the ON/OFF button again.
Note: Fan speed cannot be adjusted in AUTO and DRY modes.
Timer Operation
The timer allows you to set the air conditioner to turn ON or OFF automatically.
Setting Timer ON or Timer OFF
- Press the TIMER button. The display will show "0.0" and the TIMER ON or TIMER OFF indicator will flash.
- Use the TEMP/TIME button to set the desired time. Increments are 0.5 hours up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. The selected time registers after a few seconds.
- After setting, ensure the TIMER indicator on the indoor unit display is illuminated.
Canceling Timer Settings
Press the CANCEL button to cancel any active timer setting.
Changing Timer Settings
Repeat steps 1-3 to change existing timer settings.
Cautions:
- The remote controller automatically transmits timer signals at the specified time. Keep the remote in a location where it can transmit signals properly.
- The effective operation time set by the remote controller is limited to 24 hours.

Example: Start in 5 hours, stop in 8 hours.
- Press the TIMER button; TIMER ON displays and the time flashes.
- Use TEMP/TIME to set "5.0" for TIMER ON.
- Press the TIMER button again to display TIMER OFF and its time.
- Use TEMP/TIME to set "8.0" for TIMER OFF.
- Wait 3 seconds; the TIMER OFF time stops flashing, and the function is activated.
General Cautions
- When replacing batteries, do not use old or different types of batteries, as this may cause malfunction.
- If the remote controller is not used for several weeks or more, remove the batteries to prevent leakage damage.
- Battery life is approximately half a year under normal use. Replace batteries when the unit no longer beeps upon receiving a signal or the transmission indicator fails to light.
- Ensure there are no barriers between the remote controller and the indoor unit's receiver for proper operation.
- Keep the remote controller away from all liquids.
- Protect the remote controller from high temperatures and radiation.
- Keep the indoor unit's receiver out of direct sunlight to prevent malfunction.
- Keep the controller away from Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) from other household appliances.
Note on Button Design and Functionality:
- Button designs may vary slightly from the model purchased; the actual shape prevails.
- If a referenced button is missing on your remote, the corresponding function is not available.
- In case of discrepancies between remote control illustrations and the USER'S MANUAL, the USER'S MANUAL description takes precedence.
