Precaution

Thank you for choosing the AC08 camcorder. Please carefully read this manual before using it and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

This user manual refers to the latest information. It quotes captured screen displays and graphics to introduce the digital camera through detailed and direct methods. Due to system updates and product batches, the captured screen displays and graphics indicated in the manual may differ from the actual camera received.

Camera Maintenance

  1. When not using the camera for some time, please keep it in a dry and cool place, avoiding direct sunlight.
  2. Use protective cases to avoid scratches on the lens and screen.
  3. Please clean the lens with soft clothes or tissue; DO NOT use organic solvent to clean the lens.
  4. Avoid dropping or bumping the camera.
  5. The camera will get warmer while working, which is normal.
  6. Working temperature: -20°C to 60°C. It is forbidden to use in environments below -20°C and above 60°C.
  7. The AC08 records video with a high bit rate. To ensure normal function, please use a high-speed memory card. The writing speed should be at least 10MB/second; UHS 3 cards are recommended.

Button Function and Interfaces

The camcorder features various buttons and ports. A diagram shows the top and side views of the device.

  • 1. LCD: The display screen.
  • 2. External Flash mount: For attaching an external flash.
  • 3. Zoom: Controls zoom in/out.
  • 4. Photo: Button to take a photo.
  • 5. Charging LED Indicator: Indicates charging status.
  • 6. Recording LED Indicator: Indicates recording status.
  • 7. MIC Port: For external microphone input.
  • 8. Record Button: Starts/stops video recording.
  • 9. HDMI Port: For connecting to an external display.
  • 10. USB Port: For data transfer and charging.
  • 11. MIC: Built-in microphone.
  • 12. Speaker: For audio output.
  • 13. Power: Turns the camera on/off.
  • 14. Mode/OK Button: Navigates menus and confirms selections.
  • 15. Menu Button: Opens/closes the settings menu.
  • 16. Down Button: Navigates down in menus.
  • 17. Up Button: Navigates up in menus.
  • 18. Lens: The camera lens.
  • 19. Wristband hole: For mounting a wrist strap.
  • 20. Screw hole: For mounting the device onto a tripod.
  • 21. Battery: Compartment for the battery.
  • 22. Battery cover: Opens to access the battery and SD card.
  • 23. Micro SD card: Slot for inserting a Micro SD card.

Indicator Lights

UP Button1. In the menu, select a function and an option.

Record Button1. In standby state of recording mode, press to start recording.
2. In camera mode, press to switch to video mode.
3. In playback mode, press to start playing the video; while playing, press to stop playing.
Photo Button1. In photo mode, press to take a photo.
2. In video mode, press to switch to photo mode.
Zoom Button1. Move the zoom button right to zoom in.
2. Move the zoom button left to zoom out.
3. In the menu, toggle left/right to select functions and options.
4. In playback mode, toggle left/right to select photo and video files.

HOW TO START

A. Charge the Li-ion battery

  1. Use a 5V/2A standard USB adapter with a Micro USB cable or connect the camera to the computer to charge.
  2. It usually takes 1-2 hours to charge the battery fully.

B. How to use memory card

  1. The camera uses Micro SD card storage, with a maximum support of 128GB. For normal functions, use a high-speed memory card; UHS 3 memory card is recommended.
  2. Before using the camera, please format the memory card on the computer.
  3. The camera does not support hot-swappable memory cards; please shut down before inserting or removing the memory card.
  4. Insert the card into the slot until it is fully inserted.
  5. To remove the memory card, gently press the edge of the card until it pops out.

C. Turn On/Off

  1. Turn on: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the boot animation appears.
  2. Shut down: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the shutdown animation appears.
  3. Automatic shutdown: The camera will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity (e.g., 3 minutes).
  4. Low battery level: When the battery is very low, the battery icon will be blank. Please charge the camera promptly to avoid automatic shutdown.

Video Mode

The Video Mode screen displays various indicators: Record icon (1), Date (2), Time (3), Image stabilization (4), Micro SD Card status (5), Recording indicator (6), Battery icon (7), Zoom icon (8), Total recordable time (9), Recorded time (10), Resolution (11), and Exposure value (12).

Video Mode Setup Menu Section

The Video Mode Setup menu allows adjustment of:

  • Rec Resolution: Options include 4K 30FPS, 2.7K 30 FPS, 1080P 60FPS, 1080P 30FPS, 720P 120FPS, 720P 60FPS, 720P 30FPS. Higher resolution provides clearer video.
  • EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization): ON/OFF. Supports image stabilization for smoother shooting during movement (walking, riding, vehicle use).
  • White Balance: Options include Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescence. Adjusts color balance for different scenes to improve image effects. 'Auto' mode automatically switches based on the scene.
  • Exposure Setting: Adjusts the EV value from -2 to +2 according to the ambient brightness.
  • Metering Mode: Options include Average, Center, Spot, Matrix Metering. Choose based on user needs and brightness for different image effects.
  • Sharpness: High/Middle/Low. Higher sharpness increases clarity but may also increase noise.
  • Video Quality Recording: High/Middle/Low. Higher quality provides better clarity and larger file sizes.
  • ISO: Auto/100 to 6400. Adjusts sensitivity for brightness. 'Auto' mode automatically adjusts sensitivity.
  • Time Watermark: ON/OFF. Adds a time watermark to videos.
  • Rec Audio: ON/OFF. Turns recording audio on or off.

Photo Mode

The Photo Mode screen displays: Photo mode indicator (1), Date (2), Time (3), Battery icon (4), Zoom icon (5), Number of pictures taken/Maximum number of pictures that can be taken (6), Resolution (7), and Exposure value (8).

Photo setting

The Photo setting menu allows adjustment of:

  • Pixel inset: Options include 48M, 30M, 24M, 20M, 12M, 8M, 5M, 3M. Higher pixels result in higher resolution.
  • White balance: Options include Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescence. Adjusts color balance for different scenes. 'Auto' mode automatically switches based on the scene.
  • Exposure Setting: Adjusts the EV value from -2 to +2 according to the ambient brightness.
  • Metering Mode: Options include Average, Center, Spot, Matrix Metering. Choose based on user needs and brightness for different image effects.
  • Sharpness: High/Middle/Low. Higher sharpness increases clarity but may also increase noise.
  • Long Exposure: Auto/2s/5s/10s/15s/20s/30s. Used for capturing movement trajectories in low light.
  • ISO: Auto/100 to 6400. Adjusts sensitivity for brightness. 'Auto' mode automatically adjusts sensitivity.
  • Time Watermark: ON/OFF. Adds a time watermark to photos.

Navigation menu

The Navigation menu presents various shooting modes in a grid layout: Video, Slowly, Loop, Lapse, Photo, Auto, Burst, Timer, PlayBack.

Files Delete

The Files Delete screen prompts 'Delete this file?' with 'Confirm' and 'Cancel' options. Users select a video/photo file using up/down buttons and press the menu button to delete.

Working mode

Illustrations show how to adjust the camcorder. One shows a hand adjusting a lever, labeled 'Adjust'. Another shows a hand pressing a button on the side for 'Photo' mode, and a hand pressing a button on the top for 'Video' mode.

Loop recording

  1. Press OK/MODE to enter mode navigation.
  2. Select loop recording mode.
  3. Set the video segment duration (e.g., 2min/3min/5min).
  4. Recording will generate videos with the set segment duration.
  5. Note: When the memory card is full, the camera will not overwrite old videos.

Time-lapse video

  1. Press OK/MODE to enter mode navigation.
  2. Select Time-lapse video.
  3. Set the time-lapse video recording interval (e.g., 0.5s/1s/5s/10s).
  4. In time-lapse mode, the camera generates a video that is dozens of times shorter than the recorded video time based on the shooting interval. For example, a 1-second video output requires 30 seconds of shooting time if the interval is set to 1S.

Slowly Mode

The maximum supported slowdown factor is 8x.

Timer Photo

After setting the timer, press the photo button. The camera will take a photo when the set countdown is reached.

Burst Photo

Camera takes multiple photos in 1 second.

Auto Photo

After setting the shooting interval, press the shooting button. The camera will continuously take photos until the battery power is exhausted or the memory card capacity is reached.

Connect to the Wi-Fi.

How to use the APP?

Step 1: Download the APP. Search for "DV KING4K" in the mobile store or scan the QR code.

The app is available on iOS and Android.

Step 2: In the system menu, turn on the WIFI function.

Step 3: Find and connect to the camera's WIFI (e.g., "4K_WIFI") in your mobile's WIFI list.

Step 4: Open the APP and click to connect to the camera.

Step 5: Enter the real-time screen and start shooting.

Note: After installing the APP, you may need to grant permissions like Wi-Fi connection and GPS positioning when opening it for the first time.

How to use the webcam feature

  1. Use the MINI USB cable to connect the camera to the computer.
  2. When the computer recognizes the camera, it will automatically download and install the camera driver.
  3. On the camera screen, select "Webcam Mode" from the options: Disk Mode/Charge Mode/Webcam Mode.
  4. Open recording/chat/live broadcast software (e.g., OBS, Youtube, Facebook, AMCap, Skype) and use the AC08 camera as a webcam. System support includes WIN7/WIN10/MAC.
  5. Note: An additional microphone may be required when using the camera as a webcam on some platforms.

Frequently Q&A

Q: The camera does not turn on

A: 1. Check the battery status and fully charge the battery before using the camera.

2. Use an external power supply with a specification of DC 5V/2A to power the camera. Long press the "Power" button to check whether the work indicator is on.

Q: The camera crashed during use.

A: If this happens occasionally, it is mainly due to the working environment or habits in which the camera is used. If this happens very frequently, please check the memory card speed. The AC08 camcorder records ultra-high-definition video, so a high-speed memory card is required. Please make sure you are using a high-speed memory card.

Q: Video playback is not smooth, red and blue stripes appear in the video

A: Make sure to use a high-speed card (U3 card). The memory size of the card must be at least 8GB. Before using the camera, format the memory card first.

Q: My recorded video is divided into several files

A: The video output format of this camera is MP4. We noticed that many video editing software cannot edit files over 3.2G, so we use 3.2G as a file for your convenience.

Q: My camera image is not as good as expected

A: Please use the camera in a brightly lit environment. If you want a better pixel experience, please press the "MENU" button, select "Resolution", select "48M". If you want a better video resolution, press the "MENU" button, select "Movie Size", select "4K 30FPS".
