Epson L14150 Installation Guide
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing your Epson L14150 printer.
Important Information
Before using this product, please read these instructions and the safety instructions in the online User's Guide.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Do not use the Epson® product near water.
- Keep this guide readily available.
- Avoid using a telephone during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.
- Do not use a telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
- Caution: To reduce the risk of fire, use only a No. 26 AWG or larger telecommunication line cord.
1. Unpack Everything
- Remove all protective material from the product.
- Lift the scanner unit until it locks into place, and remove all protective material from inside the product.
Caution: Do not touch the flat white cable or the ink tubes and their translucent caps.
Note: Do not open the ink bottles until you are ready to fill the tanks. The ink bottles are vacuum-sealed to maintain quality.
2. Fill the Tanks
Warning: Keep ink bottles out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink.
Caution: This product requires careful handling of ink. If ink spills, clean the area immediately with a damp cloth to prevent permanent stains. If ink gets on your clothes or belongings, it may stain.
Notes:
- Epson cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of third-party ink.
- Use the ink bottle included with the printer to install the product. Some ink is used to charge the print head. These bottles will print a lower number of pages compared to replacement bottles.
- Open the ink tank unit cover, then open the black ink cover.
- Unpack the black ink bottle (BK). Hold the ink bottle upright and carefully twist off the bottle cap to remove it.
Caution: Do not shake or squeeze the ink bottles. Do not touch the top of the ink bottle after removing the cap.
- Insert the ink bottle into the ink charging port.

Note: Ink flows into the tank and automatically stops when the ink reaches the top line. If ink does not flow from the bottle, remove and re-insert the bottle.
Note: Wait until the ink fills the tank. Do not squeeze the bottle.
- When the tank is full, remove the ink bottle and close the cover firmly. Store the remaining ink; you will need it later.
Note: Do not leave the ink bottle inserted or it may be damaged or the ink may leak.
- Close the ink tank unit cover.
- Repeat the previous steps for the other colors.
Caution: After installation, periodically check the ink levels to ensure they are not below the lower lines. Prolonged use when any of the levels are below a lower line may damage the product. See the online User's Guide for refilling instructions.
- Close the ink tank cover.
- Lift the scanner unit slightly and then lower it. When the scanner unit locks, lift it again and lower it completely.
Note: The included ink bottles were created for reliable printer setup and cannot be resold. After setup, the remaining ink is available for printing.
- Connect the power cord to the back of the product and to an electrical outlet.
Caution: Do not connect it to your computer yet.
- Turn on the power by opening the control panel and pressing the power button.
Note: If an error message appears, turn off the product and make sure no protective material has been left inside the product.
- Select your language, country, date, and time.
Note: You can change these settings later using the product's control panel. For more information, see your online User's Guide.
Follow steps 12 and 13 to continue filling the ink.
- When the message prompting you to see the Installation Guide poster appears on the LCD, press and hold the help button for 5 seconds.
- When the ink confirmation message appears on the LCD, select Done to start charging the ink. Ink charging takes approximately 10 minutes.
Caution: Do not disconnect or turn off the product, lift the scanner unit, or load paper while the product is charging, or you will waste ink.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust print quality.
Note: You need to load paper before adjusting print quality. See the "Load Paper" section on the back of this poster for details.
- If there is remaining ink, repeat steps 1 to 9 to finish filling the ink tanks, and then select Close on the LCD.
Note: Replace the caps on the bottles before discarding the bottles.
3. Load Paper
Refer to the online User's Guide for information on loading capacity, available paper types and sizes, loading envelopes, and using the rear paper feeder or the automatic document feeder.
- Make sure the product is not charging ink, then open the front paper tray and remove the tray.
- Slide the side guides completely outward.
- Place the paper with the shiny or printable side facing down.
Note: Make sure the paper is loaded against the front edge guide and does not extend beyond the edge of the tray.
- Slide the side guides against the paper, but do not overtighten. Close the front of the tray.
- Hold the paper tray flat and insert it completely.
- Pull out the output tray.
- Select the paper settings on the product's control panel.
4. Connect the Fax Line
Connect the phone cord to a wall phone jack and to the LINE port on your product. See the online User's Guide for more information.
Select Next to configure the fax, or select Set Up Later to configure it later.
5. Install the Software
Note: If you are using a Mac or if your computer does not have a CD/DVD drive, you will need an internet connection to obtain the product software.
- Make sure the product is NOT CONNECTED to the computer.
- Windows: If the Add Hardware Wizard screen appears, click Cancel and disconnect the USB cable. Insert the product CD (Windows only) or download and run the product software package. Visit www.epson.com.br/suporte/L14150 to get the latest software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on your computer to run the installation program.
- When the screen asking you to Select your connection appears, select one of the following options:
- Wireless connection: In most cases, the software installation program attempts to automatically configure your wireless connection. If the setup is unsuccessful, you may need to enter your network name (SSID) and password.
- Direct USB connection: Make sure you have the USB cable available.
- Wired network connection: Make sure you have an Ethernet cable (not included).
Printing from a Mobile Device
Connect wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Print documents and photos from across the room or around the world:
- Print directly from your Android device (v4.4 or later)*. Simply connect your printer and device to the same network and tap the action icon to select the print option.
- Print directly from your smartphone or tablet using iOS or Android™™ with Epson iPrint™. Simply connect your printer and device to the same network and tap the action icon to select the print option.

Problems?
Network configuration failed.
- Print a network connection report to identify network problems and solutions. See the online User's Guide for instructions.
- Make sure you select the correct network name (SSID).
- Restart your router (turn it off and then on again), then try connecting to it again.
- The printer can only connect to a network that supports 2.4 GHz. If your router offers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections, make sure the 2.4 GHz connection is enabled.
- If you see a firewall alert message, click Unblock or Allow to let the configuration continue.
- If your network has security enabled, make sure you enter the network password (WEP key or WPA password) correctly. Make sure you enter your password in the correct box.
Incorrect lines or colors in printouts
Perform a nozzle check to see if there are gaps in the printout. Then, clean the print head if necessary. See the online User's Guide for more information.
The product display is dark.
Make sure your product is turned on and tap the LCD to wake it from sleep mode.
Could not find my product after connecting using the USB cable.
Make sure the product is turned on and securely connected, as shown.
