A. Login
If the login screen is displayed during operations, enter the following login user name and password:
Login User Name: A
Login Password: B
Example User Names/Passwords for models:
- ECOSYS PA4500cx: -4500
- ECOSYS PA4000cx: -4000
- ECOSYS PA3500cx: -3500
B. Preface
This guide (A) explains only the basic operations of the machine. For more information, refer to the operation guide (B) downloaded from the Kyocera website.
C. Unpacking
The included components may differ depending on the country or region.
D. Setting up the Toner Container
Diagram shows steps to insert the toner container into the printer.
E. Connect Cable
Connect the Network cable (10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T) and the USB cable (USB 2.0) to the printer.

F. Loading Paper
Diagrams show how to load paper into the paper tray and the printer's paper feed mechanism.
G. Connect Power Cord

H. Power On
When turning on the main power switch for the first time, the machine runs the Startup Wizard to set the following:
- Language > Setup (1/3)
Follow the instructions on the operation panel.
I. Install Drivers and Utilities
After accessing the URL https://kyocera.info/, install the drivers and utilities based on the on-screen instructions.
J. Cancelling a Job
To cancel a job:
- Select the job you want to cancel from the "Job Cancel List".
- Press [Yes] to confirm cancellation.

K. Private Printing
From a PC
To activate private printing from a PC, set items No. 1 and 2 on the screen.

From the Operation Panel
To activate private printing from the operation panel:
- Select the document.
- Select the user of the document.
- Select the document to print or delete.

L. Troubleshooting
If an error occurs, an error message will appear on the screen. The "Attention" indicator on the operation panel will light up or flash.
Follow the on-screen instructions to clear the error. For details, refer to the Operation Guide.
M. Clearing Paper Jams
Follow these steps to clear paper jams from various locations in the printer.
Section A: Front/Output Tray Area
Diagrams show removing jammed paper from the output tray and front access area.
- Open the front cover.
- Gently pull out jammed paper from the front output area.
- Close the front cover.
Section B: Paper Tray Area
Diagrams show removing jammed paper from the paper tray and its insertion point.
- Pull out the paper tray.
- Remove jammed paper from the tray.
- If paper is jammed inside the printer where the tray was, carefully remove it.
Section C: Internal Area (e.g., Toner/Drum Access)
Diagrams show accessing internal components and removing jammed paper.
- Open the toner cover.
- Remove the toner cartridge.
- Carefully pull out any jammed paper from the internal area.
- Reinstall the toner cartridge and close the cover.
Section D: Rear Area
Diagrams show accessing the rear of the printer and removing jammed paper.
- Open the rear cover.
- Gently pull out jammed paper from the rear.
- Close the rear cover.
Section E: Duplex Unit Area
Diagrams show accessing the duplex unit and removing jammed paper.
- Open the duplex unit cover.
- Carefully remove any jammed paper from the duplex unit.
- Close the duplex unit cover.
Section F: ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) Area
Diagrams show opening the ADF cover and removing jammed paper.
- Open the ADF cover.
- Gently pull out jammed paper from the ADF.
- Close the ADF cover.
Section G: Scanner Unit Area
Diagrams show accessing the scanner unit and removing jammed paper.
- Lift the scanner unit.
- Carefully remove any jammed paper from the scanner area.
- Lower the scanner unit.
