Component Access and Removal

This section explains how to access and remove components from Wolf Pro Series ventilation products. Procedures are arranged to simulate the order in which components might need to be removed to gain access to other components. Referencing other removal procedures listed in this section may be necessary.

NOTE: Before continuing, please take note of the WARNINGS and CAUTIONS below.

CAUTION: Metal edges may be sharp. Use caution when servicing the unit to avoid personal injury.

Filter Removal

NOTE: See the CAUTION at the beginning of this section.

Slide the filter upward against the spring retainer until the filter is clear of the bottom. Pull the bottom of the filter forward and out to remove the filter from the hood.

Remove the right and left side filters by sliding them toward the center of the hood and repeating the removal procedure. (See Figure 3-1)

Grease Tray Removal

Carefully lift the grease tray up and out of the bottom rail. Use caution not to spill any grease that may have accumulated in the tray. (See Figure 3-2)

Side Spacer Removal

Use a Phillips screwdriver through the filter opening to remove the side spacer mounting screws. Slide the side spacer toward the center to remove it. (See Figure 3-3)

Switch Bezel Removal

Gently pry the front of the bezel, and push it toward the rear of the hood to disengage the plastic clips securing the bezel. Rotate the bezel downward to remove it. (See Figure 3-4)

Light and Fan Switch Removal

Once the switch bezel has been removed, the light and fan switches may be removed. Disconnect the wire connectors from the switch being removed. Remove the control knob by pulling. Remove the nut securing the switch to the bezel. (See Figure 3-5)

Light Socket Removal (Model W2418)

With the baffles, grease tray, and spacers removed, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the light shroud to the enclosure. (See Figure 3-8)

For access to the wiring and lights, slide the shroud down the slide supports toward the rear (See Figure 3-9).

Reach behind the top partition, and press the metal clips on the light socket. Push downward to disengage the socket from the light holder. Disconnect the wire connectors from the socket. (See Figure 3-10)

Light Socket Removal (Model 13418)

Loosen the front lower shroud by removing the screws securing it to the hood. (See Figure 3-11)

NOTE: The top portion of the shroud is attached to the hood using two-sided tape. If necessary, replace this tape after installing the new light socket.

Carefully pull the top of the shroud downward to release it from the two-sided tape holding it in place. Reach behind the shroud, and press the metal clips on the light socket. Push downward to disengage the socket from the light holder. Disconnect the wire connectors from the socket. (See Figure 3-11)
