The AQQA aquarium power-driven biochemical sponge filter is a type of hang-on filter that is ideal for all types of aquarium tanks and fish species.

1. PRODUCT FEATURES

• Enhanced Efficiency and Durability: The sponges' double ribbing shape, crafted from premium materials, provides a larger surface area for beneficial bacteria to thrive. This design ensures crystal-clear aquarium water and also helps eliminate peculiar odors.
• Mechanical and Biological Filtration: This filter features two compartments equipped with ceramic beads and biochemical sponges. Both components are easily replaceable.
• Increase Dissolved Oxygen and Cultivate Beneficial Bacteria: The ceramic beads filtration media effectively removes harmful substances while increasing dissolved oxygen levels.
• Retractable Outlet Pipe: It is easily adjustable to change the height of the air outlet, allowing it to meet your specific requirements.
• Easy to Set Up and Clean: This sponge filter is simple to install, and all parts, including the sponge and ceramic beads, are easy to clean. Additionally, you can replace the ceramic beads with other bio-filter media.
• Suitable for shrimp, betta, tropical fish, planted tanks, and more.

Note: The AQ173-5W model does not include a filter box. Please clean the filter sponge regularly based on your aquarium's condition. It is recommended to clean it every 2 to 3 weeks.

5. IMPORTANT SAFETY CAUTIONS

• Please operate the equipment at the rated voltage and frequency as indicated on the rating label and user manual.
• A residual current device rated 10mA or 30mA must be installed on the main power supply.
• The power cord cannot be replaced. If the power cord or plug shows signs of wear, damage, or aging, please stop using this filter immediately. Please do not attempt to shorten or unplug the power cord. Failure to comply with these rules may result in damage to the filter.
• If an abnormal smell or noise is detected from the filter, please unplug it immediately and check for the cause.
• Ensure your hands and the plug are dry when plugging or unplugging the filter. Do not plug or unplug the filter with wet hands, as this may result in an electric shock.
• Unplug the filter before installing or cleaning it. Do not pull the power cord suddenly when unplugging; instead, hold the plug gently and remove it from the socket.
• If it suffers a severe impact, check for damage. If there is any breakage, stop using it and dispose of it.
• Do not let the filter run dry, as this will damage the rotor and will cause overheating of the motor.
• Do not operate or place the filter in a freezing environment.
• Always keep the filtering part from being clogged. Otherwise, the flow rate will decrease, and the impeller will stop working.
• Do not use the filter in flammable or corrosive liquids. The filter should be operated in an environment less than 104 °F (40 °C).

6. DISPOSAL

Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary. This product must not be disposed of together with the domestic waste. This product has to be disposed of in an authorized place for recycling electrical and electronic appliances. By collecting and recycling waste, you help save natural resources, and make sure the product is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

7. AQQA LIMITED MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY

AQQA offers the end user a manufacturer warranty of 2 years from the date of sale if the product was purchased from an AQQA®-authorised specialist dealer. Retain the receipt for any future warranty claim. Products are guaranteed by AQQA® Aquatic Supplies to the original purchaser against defective material and workmanship under normal use for a period up to 2 years from the date of the original purchase through an Authorized Dealer. Refer to the User Manual included with your product for specific warranty details.

Products have no warranty if:

1. The product has been serviced, modified or tampered with by anyone other than AQQA® Aquatic Supplies.
2. The product has been abused or damaged (including broken or cracked bulbs), and/or.
3. The product has been transported without proper packaging.
4. The product was purchased from an Unauthorized Reseller.

WARRANTY LIABILITY DISCLAIMER

In no event will AQQA® be liable for any consequential or incidental damages, including but not limited to, lost aquatic life, personal injury, property damage, equipment damage, lost profits, lost wages, lost savings, lost income, etc., arising out of the use of any AQQA® products.

1.0. Terms and Conditions of Warranty.

• 1.1. AQQA® warrants to the purchaser, for 2 years from date of original purchase through an Authorized AQQA® Reseller, to repair or replace parts where fault is found due to defective materials or faulty workmanship and where goods do not operate in accordance with the instructions.
• 1.2. All claims for repair or replacement must be made at place of purchase.
• 1.3. Only the direct purchaser is entitled to warranty claims against AQQA, and these are not transferable without AQQA's consent.
• 1.4. The original and dated Proof of Purchase (receipt) must be supplied with all goods claims. Please also provide this Guarantee where possible.
• 1.5. Wear parts (e.g.: seals, suction devices, axes, pump wheels, light sources, pH electrodes, filter media, such as filter cartridges, as well as UVC burners), glass damage and the opening of the product, as well as structural changes or the use of non-AQQA® original parts are excluded from the guarantee.
• 1.6. All goods subject to claim under Guarantee should be prepared for transportation in the original packaging or other comparable packaging which offers the same degree of protection and AQQA® must incur no costs from the shipment.
• 1.7. Where claims on inspection reveal goods are in normal working order, AQQA® will request reimbursement of all reasonable costs incurred.
• 1.8. Warranty claims do not exist in the case of only insignificant deviations from the agreed or customary condition or usability, e.g. insignificant deviations in colour, dimensions and/or quality or performance characteristics of the products.
• 1.9. AQQA's warranty obligation extends only to the delivery of newly manufactured products. Unless otherwise agreed, used products are sold as seen, excluding any warranty.
