Aldes CP 2A GALVA D125/200: Acoustic and Aerodynamic T-Junction
The CP 2A GALVA D125/200 is a T-junction designed to connect vertical collector networks and horizontal networks, enhancing acoustics and aerodynamics in ventilation systems. It ensures accessibility to vertical and horizontal ducts.
Product Highlights
- Exclusive CP2A design (ALDES patent): reduces fan consumption.
- 35% lower pressure drop compared to a standard CP.
- Improved acoustic attenuation: 7dB(A) reduction in fan noise (3dB(A) better than standard CP).
Product Description
The acoustic and aerodynamic T-junction is a galvanized steel ventilation accessory that joins vertical collector ducts and horizontal networks. It complies with DTU 68.1 and 68.2 standards, providing accessibility to vertical columns and horizontal networks. This component is specifically designed for columns that exit into attics or terraces, where sealing is done before the T-junction is installed. The CP2A features a stop ring on its body to keep the cap stable and minimize leaks. Its aerodynamic characteristics reduce the required fan depression, potentially allowing for the selection of a less powerful, quieter, and more energy-efficient fan.
Application Domains
Residential collective housing, new construction, renovation, tertiary buildings.
Installation
- Easy accessory mounting through push-fit connections: ducts are female, accessories are male.
- Sealing achieved with mastic and/or perforated tape.
- Fixing to the duct with self-drilling screws (4 to 6 depending on diameter).
- For installations where sealing is done after T-junction installation, use a CPT or CPT2A.
- Installation with a Terrace Penetration Sleeve: FT.
Reference Argument

Performance Curves
Comparison of pressure drops between CP and CP2A
Graph showing pressure drop (Pa) on the y-axis and air velocity (m/s) on the x-axis. Two lines are plotted: 'CP standard' and 'CP2A'. The CP2A line shows significantly lower pressure drops across all velocities compared to the CP standard line.
The acoustic attenuation of the CP2A is due to two phenomena:
- Acoustic expansion due to the shape of the CP; this expansion primarily attenuates frequencies below 500 Hz.
- High-density acoustic foam in the CP2A; this foam primarily attenuates frequencies above 500 Hz.
Therefore, for low frequencies, the CP2A complements passive sound traps.
