Installation
This section details the steps for installing the EDECOA hybrid inverter.
Description
The EDECOA EM-302A is an all-in-one unit featuring a 6200W pure sine wave inverter, an 80A battery charger, and a 110A MPPT charge controller. It offers configurable input voltage ranges via an LCD screen or Wi-Fi module, adjustable battery charging current, and selectable solar/AC charger priority. The inverter includes a multiple protection system with automatic restart during AC recovery and a cold start function to optimize battery performance.
Important Considerations:
- Off-Grid Operation: This is an off-grid inverter. It cannot compensate for excess energy generated to the electric company. Excess energy is stored in the batteries.
- Grid-Tied vs. Off-Grid: The hybrid inverter can be installed even without a grid connection, provided a battery is always connected.
- PV Input Voltage Range: The inverter has a PV input voltage range of 55-450 Vdc. If a voltage lower than 55 Vdc is connected, the inverter will not detect the installation.
- Calculating Solar Panels: To calculate the number of panels needed, consider the maximum supply voltage (Vmp). For example, 34.89 Vmp * 2 panels = 69.78 Vdc. It is recommended to install one additional solar panel to account for voltage loss.
Accessories Included:
- 1m x 25mm² positive cable
- 1m x 25mm² negative cable
Important Note on Powering On:
All inverters are shipped with the power button in the OFF position. Ensure the inverter is turned ON after installation. The LCD display will illuminate when PV load is detected, regardless of the button's position, which might cause confusion.
System Diagram:

Connection Example:
Shows a typical setup with multiple solar panels connected in series to the inverter, which is then connected to batteries and utility power.
