ADP Installation, Care & Maintenance Guide
This guide provides essential information for the installation, care, and warranty of your ADP bathroom products. Please read carefully before proceeding.
Prior to Installation Checklist
It is crucial that installation is performed by a qualified tradesperson to a professional standard. Inspect all products thoroughly before installation to ensure they are correct and undamaged. Claims for damage or incorrect items will not be accepted after installation.
Note: The installer is responsible for making any necessary adjustments to doors and drawers after installation.
For further instructions, visit www.adpaustralia.com.au/installation-warranty.
1. Check Products For Any Damages
Within 48 hours of receiving your goods, unpack and inspect your ADP product for any freight damages or incorrect items. Contact your place of purchase to report any issues. No claims for damages will be accepted after installation. Fixing screws/bolts are not supplied.
2. Positioning & Ventilation
Plan your bathroom furniture placement carefully. Ensure furniture is at least 300mm away from wet areas. While materials are moisture-resistant, they are not waterproof. Avoid direct exposure to shower spray. Adequate bathroom ventilation is essential to prevent moisture build-up, which can lead to dampness, mould, and deterioration of materials. Water damage is not covered under ADP Warranty.
Tip: Good ventilation is important to prevent mould & moisture build-up. ?️
3. Check for Support Beams
Wall-hung furniture and basins require fixing to support beams fitted between studs for solid wall backing. If necessary, install additional support noggins at the desired height before sheeting the wall. Ensure the total width of the support noggin exceeds the vanity width.
4. Check for Plumb Walls & Level Floors
Ensure walls are plumb and straight, and floors are level. Installing on non-plumb walls or uneven floors can lead to doors not operating correctly, misalignment, or basins not sitting level, causing water pooling or drainage issues.
If walls or floors are not plumb, use packing to ensure the vanity sits correctly. Floor-standing vanities must be on a level floor or packed to be level and true. Fixing to a bowed wall can twist the cabinet and crack benchtops due to stress.
5. Check Plumbing Positions
Align plumbing positions with product interior configurations, noting clearances behind drawers for water supply fittings. Consult an electrician for any electrical fittings.
Important Tips
- Ensure all tiles extend behind and beneath bathroom furniture. Tiling within furniture is not recommended due to moisture and mould build-up, which can damage materials and void the warranty.
- Seal all areas where the cabinet/top meets the wall and/or floor using a neutral cure silicone.
- Seal all edges where the vanity top meets the cabinet, wall, or surrounding furniture with a continuous bead of silicone.
- Installers must make any adjustments to doors/drawers after installation as movement during transport or installation can cause misalignment.
Vanity Installation
Which Vanity solution do you have?
- Standard Vanity: See page 5 for installation steps.
- Against Wall or Between Walls: Requires a filler, wide filler, or infill panel. Follow steps on page 6.
Standard Vanity Installation
1. Location
After completing the Prior to Installation Checklist, mark the vanity's position, factoring in the top/basin thickness for correct height. Ensure you mark support beam positions for wall-hung units.
2. Preparing the Cabinet
Remove doors and drawers. Measure for plumbing locations and drill holes in the back panel and/or base using an appropriate hole saw. Pre-drill screw locations for wall fastening.
3. Leveling
For wall-hung vanities, use a level support/noggin. For floor-mount vanities, pack the unit to ensure it is level and square. Position the vanity over pipes and secure with a single screw in the center to hold it in place. Check that the vanity is completely level.
4. Securing the Cabinet
Fasten the cabinet securely to the wall through the back using appropriate screws/bolts at the top and bottom. Space horizontal fixings evenly, maximum 300mm apart. For the bottom, start fixings no further than 100mm from each end and no higher than 50mm from the base panel. Use appropriately sized hollow wall anchors if studs cannot be located. Ensure fixings clear water/electrical services.
5. Remove Transportation Blocks
Once the cabinet is secured, carefully remove transportation blocks from the underside of the cabinet (a chisel is recommended).
6. Fix Top / Basin
Apply a continuous bead of non-acidic silicone to the top four edges of the vanity and at the back where the top meets the wall. Position the top with equal overhang on each side, ensuring it is level. If using a separate basin, position and seal it to the top/cabinet with silicone. Seal any visible gaps between the cabinet, top, and basin.
7. Sealing
Apply non-acidic silicone to all edges where the vanity top and cabinet meet the wall and floor. This is crucial as materials are water-resistant, not waterproof. Gap sealant can be used where the unit meets tiled surfaces.
Note: See page 8 for finishing steps.
Against Wall or Between Walls Vanity Installation
1. Measure Your Space
For 'Against Wall' installation, measure the distance needed from the wall to clear obstructions. For 'Between Walls' installation, measure the space between walls A and B to ensure cabinet dimensions are correct. Check door and drawer openings for clearance with heated towel rails or walls.
2. Go to Page 4
Follow steps 1 to 5 of the Standard Vanity Installation.
3. Measure Your Filler/Infill Gap
Remove doors/drawers. Measure the gap between the cabinet and the wall at the top and bottom, accounting for out-of-square walls. Repeat for both sides if the cabinet is between walls.
4. Mark Your Filler/Infill Panel
Your filler/infill panel is typically 100mm x 16mm. You may need to plane it to fit the gap or account for non-plumb walls. Mark the measured gap sizes onto the front edge of the filler panel and scribe a line down the entire length.
5. Plane Down the Panel
Set up the filler panel face down and use an electric planer to plane it down to the scribed line.
6. Pre-Drill Holes
Pre-drill holes through the end panel of your carcass at the top and bottom. Repeat for both sides if the cabinet is between walls.
7. Secure the Filler/Infill Panels
Place the panels into the gaps, ensuring they are flush with the cabinet or door front. Secure panels by screwing through the pre-drilled holes.
Wide Infill Panels: Use a wide infill panel when a drawer needs clearance from an architrave or obstruction like a towel rail.
Note: See page 8 for finishing steps.
Detachable Kickboard Installation
1. Join Side Panels
Join each side panel with the rear panel. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to fasten cam-locks clockwise into pre-drilled holes.
2. Join Front Panel
Attach and fasten the front panel to each side panel, ensuring all cam-locks are fastened. Cam-locks should point directly up on the front and rear panels.
3. Attach Centre Support (For Larger Units)
For units 1200mm and larger, insert the supplied centre support panel and secure all cams.
4. Remove Blocks & Join Kickboard to Vanity
Carefully lay the vanity unit on its back on a flat surface and remove transportation blocks from the underside. Using the pre-drilled holes at the base, insert cam-locks at the top of the kickboard and fasten to the vanity unit. Cam-locks should point up on the front and rear panels.
Finishing Steps
Adjust Doors & Drawers
Install drawers and doors back onto the cabinet and make adjustments to align them correctly. Refer to pages 8-13 for detailed instructions. The installer is responsible for these adjustments.
Reminder: Do not forget to remove transportation blocks from the underside of the cabinet!
Cleaning
Clean all building residue from the cabinet. Dry any spillage or leakage of water on or inside the cabinet during installation. Ensure drawer runners are free of debris, as this can affect operation. Refer to page 14 for care and maintenance.
Fitting an Overflow
Note: All plumbing components must be installed by a licensed plumber.
Small Basin Setup: Pre-assemble overflow kits and fit to the basin before mounting. Align flange and elbow carefully, insert fully, and rotate to eliminate low points and kinks. Ensure the hose does not obstruct basin placement. Aligning the overflow kit flange with waste overflow holes is critical for preventing leaks. An ADP Universal Plug & Waste is required; failure to use it may void the warranty. See page 12 for Universal Plug & Waste instructions.
Large Basin Setup: Similar to small basins, ensure proper alignment and avoid kinks. Use an ADP Universal Plug & Waste.
Fitting Above Counter Basins
Note: Consider future basin replacement when fixing and sealing. Limit silicone application to allow for easier removal without damaging benchtops.
Apply 20mm silicone dots to hold the basin in place, using a maximum of 3 fixing points. Do NOT apply a full bed of silicone. Once the basin is in position and plumbing is complete, apply a bead of silicone around the edge to seal and fix it in place.
Mirrored Shaving Cabinet Installation
Note: Consult an electrician before installing lights or powerpoints. If the cabinet has easy link brackets, follow instructions on page 7.
1. Position Cabinet & Level
Place the cabinet on a flat surface and remove mirrored doors, placing them on a soft surface with mirrors facing up. Locate support beams, position the unit, and check that all sides are level. Mark the cabinet's position on all four corners.
2. Securing the Cabinet
Securely fasten the cabinet to the wall through the back using appropriate screws/bolts at the top and bottom. Space horizontal fixings evenly, maximum 300mm apart. Use hollow wall anchors if studs cannot be located.
3. Sealing
Apply non-acidic silicone to all edges where the cabinet meets the wall. Gap sealant can be used for tiled surfaces.
4. Adjust Doors
Install doors back onto the cabinet and make adjustments for correct alignment. Refer to page 13 for instructions. The installer is responsible for these adjustments.
Option: Recessing a Mirrored Shaving Cabinet
Cut a hole in the wall 4mm larger than the cabinet carcass. Position and secure the cabinet in the cutout, ensuring sufficient nogging for top and bottom fixing. The cabinet carcass should protrude a minimum of 20mm from the wall (including tiles) to allow for a finger pull on the door.
Tallboy & Ensemble Installation
Note: If the cabinet has easy link brackets, follow the Easy Link Bracket Installation Instructions at the bottom of the page.
1. Position Cabinet & Level
Remove all doors and drawers. Position the unit in the desired location and check that all sides are level. Mark the position of the top of the cabinet.
2. Securing the Cabinet
Securely fasten the cabinet to the wall through the back using appropriate screws/bolts at the top and bottom. Space horizontal fixings evenly, maximum 300mm apart. Use hollow wall anchors if studs cannot be located.
3. Sealing
Apply non-acidic silicone to all edges where the cabinet meets the wall and floor. Gap sealant can be used for tiled surfaces.
4. Adjust Doors & Drawers
Install drawers and doors back onto the cabinet and make adjustments for correct alignment. Refer to pages 8-13 for instructions.

Bathroom Ventilation
Let's talk bathroom ventilation
Good bathroom ventilation saves money and keeps your family healthy by preventing mould. This guide covers essential ventilation information.
Scan to watch a quick 3-minute video with top bathroom care and maintenance tips!
Why ventilation is so important
Proper ventilation is crucial for preventing moisture build-up, which is the primary cause of failure in wet area products like vanities and mirrors. Good ventilation minimizes bacteria growth, prevents mould and mildew, and improves respiratory health.
Signs of poor ventilation
- Black spotting on mirrors (caused by steam/humidity).
- Paint flaking on ceilings or bubbling on fixtures.
- Furniture swelling.
- Evidence of mould or mildew.
How to achieve good ventilation
The best indicator of sufficient ventilation is a mirror that doesn't steam up and dry tiled walls. Use an exhaust fan correctly sized for the space (approx. 50 cfm per toilet/shower/bath) that exhausts air outdoors. Run the fan every time water is used and for 15 minutes after showering. Opening a bathroom window daily also helps keep the bathroom fresh and mould-free.
