MAINTENANCE
NOZZLE MAINTENANCE
SELF-CLEANING BRUSHROLL
If hair wraps around the brushroll, continue vacuuming on Carpet/Low Pile setting on a bare floor, low-pile carpet, or small area rug. This allows the self-cleaning brushroll to remove hair wrap and send it to the dust cup. If you run over a hard or sharp object, or notice a noise change, check for blockages or objects caught in the brushroll. If fibers remain wrapped after continued use, clear them from the brushroll.
Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrate debris related to the brushroll. One shows "DEBRIS WRAPPED AROUND BRUSHROLL" and advises to clean off any debris. The other shows "DEBRIS IN NOZZLE HOSE" and instructs to open nozzle locks with a coin to clear blockages.
CORD MAINTENANCE
- DO NOT pull or carry vacuum cleaner by the cord or use the cord as a handle.
- DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord; grasp the plug, not the cord.
- DO NOT close the door on the cord.
- DO NOT pull the cord around sharp corners.
- DO NOT leave the cord near heated surfaces.
To minimize the risk of power cord damage, DO NOT run the vacuum over the power cord. If this occurs, immediately shut off power and remove the cord from the brushroll or nozzle.
CHECKING FOR BLOCKAGES
Diagram Description: A series of diagrams illustrate how to check for blockages in different parts of the vacuum:
- HOSE BLOCKAGES: Detach hose from vacuum pod; check hose and opening on back of pod.
- WAND BLOCKAGES: Detach wand from floor nozzle and handle; check both ends.
- NOZZLE BLOCKAGES: Check the opening at the top of the nozzle.
- HANDLE/HOSE BLOCKAGES: Detach handle from wand and hose from vacuum pod; check openings.
- DUST CUP BLOCKAGES: Detach dust cup from vacuum pod; empty dust cup, remove debris from lint screen, and check for blockages.

TROUBLESHOOTING
- Power cord caught in brushroll or floor nozzle:
- DO NOT run vacuum over the power cord. If this occurs, immediately shut off power and remove the cord from the brushroll or nozzle. Inspect cord and plug for damage before use. Store cord securely.
- Vacuum is not picking up debris. No suction or light suction:
- Check filters for cleaning needs. Empty dust cup if full. Check hose, connections, nozzle, wand, pod, and accessories for blockages and clear them. If hair, string, or carpet fibers are wrapped around the brushroll, continue cleaning to allow the self-cleaning brushroll to remove them; if fibers remain, clear them manually.
- Vacuum lifts area rugs:
- Ensure Power/Surface switch is set to Hard Floor (setting I). Suction is powerful; take care with delicate rugs. To minimize suction, slide Suction Control to MIN.
- Brushroll does not spin:
- If Brushroll Indicator Light turns red, turn off and unplug the vacuum. Remove pod from floor nozzle and clear any blockages. Reconnect nozzle, plug in, and turn on. With power on, recline the handle to automatically turn on the brushroll. Ensure Power/Surface switch is set to Carpet (position II) for brushroll to spin.
- Vacuum turns off on its own or indicator light flashes red:
- The vacuum may be overheating; the thermostat will automatically turn off the motor. To restart: 1. Turn vacuum off and unplug it. 2. Empty dust cup and clean filters. 3. Check for blockages in hose, accessories, and inlet openings. 4. Allow unit to cool for at least 60 minutes. 5. Plug in vacuum and turn it on.
