Installation Guide

Follow these steps for installation:

1. Step 1: Rotate the buckle base to detach it from the main fixture.
2. Step 2: Position the buckle base on the ceiling. Drill holes, connect the live and neutral wires from your home's wiring to the light's wires, and then secure the base with screws.
   • Wire connection: After turning off power, strip approximately 1-1.5 cm of insulation from the ends of the ceiling light wires and your home's wires. Align the wires (live and neutral from the light do not need specific assignment to house wires) and twist them together securely using the provided wire nuts. Ensure the connection is firm by gently tugging.
3. Step 3: Mount the ceiling light by rotating it clockwise onto the secured buckle base until it locks into place.

Surplife App Setup

To control your smart ceiling light, download and set up the Surplife APP:

1. Download APP: Scan the provided QR code or search for "Surplife" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Add Device:
   1. Open the Surplife APP and navigate to the Home page. Tap the "Add Device" button or the "+" icon in the top right corner.
   2. Keep your mobile phone close to the device you wish to add. The app will automatically search for nearby devices.
   3. Select the device you want to add from the list. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Wait for the device to be added.
   4. Once added, assign a name to your device (e.g., "Living Room Light") and tap "Next".
   5. Select the room where the device is located and tap "Done".

Remote Control Usage

The smart ceiling light can be controlled via a 2.4G dual-mode remote control (sold separately).

Remote Functions:

• On/Off Button: Controls the power state of the light.
• Brightness/Speed Buttons: Adjust brightness or speed for dynamic modes.
• Static Color Buttons: Select from a range of static colors.
• Color Temperature Buttons: Adjust between warm white and cool white.
• Built-in Modes: Access pre-set scenes like "Night Light" or dynamic color cycling.
• 60-Second Timer: Automatically turns off the light after 60 seconds.

Pairing and Unpairing Remotes:

• Pairing (A): With the light powered on, immediately (within 3 seconds) long-press the remote's power button for 5 seconds. The light will slowly flash 3 times to confirm successful pairing.
• Unpairing (B): With the light powered on, immediately (within 3 seconds) long-press the remote's power-off button for 5 seconds. The light will quickly flash 3 times to confirm successful unpairing.

Control Modes:

• Multi-to-One Control: A single Surplife smart light can be paired with multiple remote controls, allowing individual control from each remote (up to 16 remotes per light).
• One-to-Many Control: A single remote control can be paired with multiple Surplife smart lights for simultaneous control, with no limit on the number of lights.

Factory Reset

To reset the ceiling light to its factory default settings:

1. Ensure the device is powered off.
2. Turn the light on, then off. Repeat this cycle 5 times, with a 3-5 second interval between each on/off action.
3. Upon successful reset, the light will flash for a few seconds and then remain steadily on. The device should then appear in the "Add Device" list in the Surplife app. If not, try restarting your Wi-Fi and waiting for the app to refresh.

Voice Assistant Integration

Control your Surplife smart ceiling light using voice commands with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Connecting to Google Assistant (via Google Home App)

Ensure you are logged into your Surplife account. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Home app and tap the "+" icon in the top left corner.
2. Tap "Set up device", then select "Works with Google".
3. Search for "Surplife" and select the found service.
4. You will be redirected to the Surplife login page. Enter your Surplife account credentials and log in.
5. After successful account linking, your devices will appear on the Google Home app's main screen.

Supported Google Assistant Voice Commands:

• Turn on <lightname>
• Dim <lightname>
• Brighten <lightname>
• Set <lightname> to [50%]
• Dim/Brighten <lightname> by [50%]
• Turn <lightname> [color]
• Turn on/off all the lights

Google Home Color Control:

You can set colors using commands like:

• Blue, Crimson, Cyan, Fuchsia, Gold, Green, Lavender, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Salmon, SkyBlue, Teal, Turquoise, Violet, Yellow.

Scene Control:

Activate scenes with commands like:

• Hey Google activate {scenename}
• Hey Google turn on {scenename}

Connecting to Amazon Alexa (via Alexa App)

Ensure you are logged into your Surplife account. You can link your account via the Alexa app or the Surplife app.

Method 1: Via Alexa App Binding

1. In the Alexa app, add your smart device and give it a name. Ensure the device is online.
2. Open the Amazon Alexa app, tap "More" (usually bottom right), then "Skills & Games". Tap the search icon.
3. Search for "Surplife" and select "ENABLE TO USE".
4. Enter your Surplife app account and password, then tap "DISCOVER DEVICES".
5. Once your account is successfully linked, your devices will be synchronized and available under the "Devices" menu in Alexa.

Method 2: Via Surplife App Quick Binding

1. Open the Surplife app, go to the "Profile" page, and tap "Alexa" under "Third-Party Voice Services".
2. You will be redirected to the Alexa quick binding page. Select "Sign In With Amazon".
3. Tap "Link" to connect your Surplife account to Alexa and wait for the binding process to complete.
4. After successful linking, you can control your devices directly through Alexa.

Supported Amazon Alexa Voice Commands:

• Alexa, set [lightname] to [0-100]%
• Alexa, turn [lightname] on/off
• Alexa, dim/brighten [lightname]
• Alexa, increase/decrease [lightname]
• Alexa, set the [lightname] light to red
• Alexa, change the [lightname] to the color blue
• For RGBW lights (warm white): Alexa, set the [lightname] to warm white
• For CCT or RGBCW lights (color temperature): Alexa, make the [lightname] warm white, Alexa, change the [lightname] to the cool white, Alexa, set the [lightname] to daylight
