Safety Precautions

CAUTION: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to local rules and regulations.

CAUTION: Do not cover ventilation openings. This unit is not intended to be used on soft surfaces (like bedding, blankets etc.).

Install the unit so that the power cord can be unplugged from the wall socket immediately in the event of trouble.

Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire or the like, for a long time.

Water Resistance:

• The unit is not waterproof. If water or foreign matter enters the unit, it may result in fire or electric shock. Stop use immediately and consult your nearest Sony dealer if this occurs.
• Be careful that the unit does not fall into a sink or container filled with water.
• Avoid using the unit in the rain or snow, or in humid locations.
• Avoid touching the unit with wet hands.
• The cap plays a very important role in maintaining water resistance. Ensure the cap is closed completely when using the unit.

Magnetism: This unit is not anti-magnetic. Keep objects susceptible to magnetism (e.g., recorded tapes, watches, cash cards, credit cards with magnetic coding) away from the unit.

Power Cord: The supplied AC power cord is designed exclusively for this unit and should not be used with other devices. Grip the plug when unplugging; never pull the cord itself.

Placement: Avoid locations subject to high temperatures, direct sunlight, heat sources, or inside a closed vehicle. Place the unit on a flat, level surface to prevent it from falling.

Medical Devices: This product contains magnets that may interfere with pacemakers or other medical devices. Consult your doctor before use if you use such a device.

Operation and Care

Voice Guidance: The voice guidance for this unit is only available in English.

Cleaning: If the surface becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth or a cloth lightly dampened with water or lukewarm water and well wrung. Do not use detergent, thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc.

Batteries (for Microphone):

• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for a long time.
• Check battery orientation (+ and -) if the wireless microphone does not turn on.
• Use batteries within their recommended use-by date for optimal performance.

Touch Sensor: Put your fingertip directly onto the touch sensor for operations. Do not operate with wet hands.

Lighting Function: If the unit's light is too bright, turn up room lights or turn off the lighting function. To carry the speaker while powered on, turn off the light.

Caster Wheels: If sand, dust, grass, or lint adheres to the caster wheels' axles, they may malfunction.
