Installation Walkthrough
Step 1: Access Rear Taillights
Inside the trunk, locate and remove one plastic rivet. Gently remove the trunk liner to access the rear taillights. On top of each taillight, locate and remove two plastic trunk stops, one on each side.
Step 2: Remove Taillights and Fascia Screw
On each side, locate and remove two nuts using an 8mm socket to remove the taillight. Unplug the electrical harness and gently remove the taillight. Set the taillight aside for reinstallation. Remove the exposed fascia screw on each side using a 10mm socket.
Step 3: Remove Fascia and Underbody Panel
To remove the rear fascia, locate and remove six plastic rivets along the wheel well (three on each side). To remove the underbody panel, locate and remove seven fasteners using a 10mm socket and one plastic rivet. Set aside for reinstallation.
Step 4: Remove Rear Fascia
Gently remove the rear fascia starting from the outside, releasing press-in tabs along the top portion of the fascia. Unclip the electrical harness and set the rear fascia aside for reinstallation.
Step 5: Remove Trim, Bumper Beam, and Plates
Locate and remove five fasteners from the rear plastic trim using a 10mm socket. To remove the bumper beam, locate and remove six nuts (three on each side) using a 15mm socket. Set aside the hardware and bumper beam for reinstallation. To remove the bumper beam plates, locate and remove eight nuts (four on each side) using a 15mm socket. Return the bumper beam plates to the owner.
Step 6: Assemble Rear Bumper and Hitch
Use 7/16 hardware to assemble the rear bumper and hitch. Raise the assembly into position using vehicle studs to align it on the rear of the vehicle. Use the hardware removed in Step 5 to secure the hitch to the vehicle. Torque M10 hardware to 45 ft-lbs. Note: Use nylon washers to avoid hitch-vehicle contact.
Step 7: Torque Hardware
Torque 7/16 hardware to 60 ft-lbs. Note: Use nylon washers to avoid hitch-vehicle contact.
Step 8: Trim Underbody Panel
Trim the rear underbody panel using the Trim Diagram as a reference. Note: All dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to trimming. The diagram indicates dimensions of 3.50 inches and 3.00 inches for trimming.
Step 9: Reinstall Components
Reinstall the underbody panel and rear fascia using Steps 1-5 in reverse order.
Installation Complete
The installation is now complete.
