This Quick Reference Guide is designed to help you learn about the features that will enhance your enjoyment of your Hyundai Elantra. For more detailed information, please refer to your vehicle's Owner's Manual. Always prioritize safety; read and understand the safety information in your Owner's Manual.

• Blue Link (pages 24-25): Assist with creating a MyHyundai.com account and Blue Link enrollment. Show the Blue Link Users Manual and Voice Commands/Quick Tip Card. Encourage customers to press the Blue Link button after enrollment to initiate the Welcome Call.

Getting Started

Remote Keyless Entry

Remote Key

• Lock: Press once.
• Unlock: Press twice for all doors.
• Trunk Unlock: Press and hold.
• Panic: Press and hold.

Smart Key

• Driver's door lock/unlock: Smart key must be within range.
• Press: Once unlocks driver door; Twice unlocks all doors; Third press locks all doors.

Mechanical Key Removal/Reinstallation

• Remove: Press and hold the release button (A) and remove the key.
• Reinstall: Put the key into the hole and push until a click sound is heard.

Engine Start/Stop Button

With the ignition OFF, press the engine start/stop button:

• Once for Accessory (ACC) Mode.
• Twice for ON Mode.
• Three times for OFF Mode.

To start the engine, press the start/stop button while:

• Automatic Transmission: Depressing the brake pedal.
• Manual Transmission: Depressing the clutch and brake pedals.

To shut the engine OFF, shift to:

• Automatic Transmission: P (Park) and press the start/stop button.
• Manual Transmission: Select 1st gear or Neutral, apply the parking brake, and press the start/stop button.

Emergency situations:

• Shut off engine while driving: Press the engine start/stop button for more than 3 seconds or press it 3 times consecutively within 3 seconds.
• Restart engine while driving: Press the engine start/stop button with the shift lever in N (Neutral) or P (Park) and apply the brake pedal.

Front Seat Adjustment (Manual)

• Forward and backward.
• Seat cushion height (for driver's seat).
• Seatback angle.

Front Seat Adjustment (Power)

• Forward and backward.
• Seat cushion height (for driver's seat).
• Seatback angle.
• Lumbar support.

Headrest Adjustment

Height adjustment: Pull up on headrest to raise. Press the lock knob while pushing down on the headrest to lower.

Seat Belt Adjustment (Front seat)

• Pull up to raise.
• Press button and push down to lower.

Features and Controls

Steering Wheel Adjustment

Allows adjustment for Tilt and Telescopic motion. Pull the lever downward, set the angle and distance, then push the lever upward. Ensure the lever is locked into place before driving.

Warning: Never adjust the steering wheel while driving. You may lose steering control and cause severe personal injury, death, or accidents.

Fuel Filler Lid

Pull up to open. After adding fuel, always reinstall the fuel cap onto the filler neck by rotating it clockwise until it clicks once. Failure to do this may result in the Check Engine Light illuminating.

Check the engine oil regularly between recommended oil changes.

Driver's Main Controls

• Window Auto Down/Up (driver's side only): Press and pull past detent to fully open or close window.
• Outside Rearview Mirrors: Move center switch to Left or Right. Adjust mirror by pressing directional arrows. In Reverse, mirrors rotate down for curb visibility if switch is in L or R position.
• Power Window Lock Switch: Disables power window switches on passenger doors. Press switch in to lock; press again to unlock.
• Central Door Lock Switch: Locks all doors when pressed in; unlocks all doors when pressed out.

Headlights and Fog Lights

• Auto Light: Headlight, Parking light.
• DRL OFF: Daytime Running Lights Off.
• Escort Function: Headlights may stay on for 30 seconds after exiting and locking the vehicle. Press remote lock button twice to turn headlights off.
• Turn Signals: Indicate direction.
• Flashing Headlights: High beam activation.
• Fog Light: Front fog light activation.

Wiper and Washer

• Pull to spray and wipe.
• MIST: Single wipe.
• OFF: Off.
• INT: Intermittent wipe. Adjust time.
• LO: Normal wiper speed.
• HI: Fast wiper speed.

Sunroof

• Sliding: Press switch rearward to open (past detent for full open). Press switch forward to close (past detent for full close).
• Tilting: Press switch up to tilt open. Push switch forward or pull switch down to close.

Interior Lights

• Map Lamp: Push the lens to turn on/off.
• Rear Room Lamp: Controlled by switch.
• Switch Positions: ON (Map and room lamps on), DOOR (Map and room lamps on when any door is open except trunk), OFF (Lights stay off unless individually turned on).

Instrument Cluster

Displays include Speedometer, Tachometer, Engine temperature gauge, Fuel gauge, Turn signal indicators, and Automatic/Manual transmission shift indicators.

Instrument Panel Illumination

Push the control switch up or down to adjust brightness.

Trip Computer

Press the TRIP button to select functions: Trip A/B, Range, Average fuel consumption, Elapsed time, Average speed.

Climate Control (Manual)

Features include Mode selection buttons, Front windshield defroster button, Air conditioning button, Fan speed control knob, Rear window defroster button, Air intake control button, Temperature control knob, and MAX A/C button.

• Defrosting/Defogging: Press front windshield defrost, set temperature to warmest, and fan speed to highest. Keep interior windshield clean for better visibility. Select outside air intake whenever possible.
• Mode Selection: Face Level, Bi-Level, Floor Level, Floor & Defrost Level, Defrost Level.
• Rear Window Defroster: Press to activate/deactivate.

Climate Control (Automatic)

Features include Front windshield defroster button, Temperature control button, AUTO button, Mode selection button, OFF button, Passenger temperature control button, Dual temperature control setting button, and Fan speed control knob.

• Defrosting/Defogging: Similar to manual, press front defrost, set warmest temperature, highest fan speed.
• Mode Selection: Face Level, Bi-Level, Floor Level, Floor & Defrost Level, Defrost Level.
• Rear Window Defroster: Press to activate/deactivate.
• Automatic Heating and Cooling: Press AUTO button and set desired temperature. System automatically controls mode, fan speed, air intake, and A/C.

Steering Wheel Functions

Cruise Control

• To set speed: Press CRUISE button, accelerate to desired speed (above 25 mph), press SET- button.
• To accelerate/decelerate: Press RES+ button up to increase speed; press SET- button down to decrease speed.
• To cancel: Press CANCEL button, depress brake pedal, or press CRUISE button.

Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM)

Controls steering effort. Pressing the button scrolls through modes: Comfort (Light), Normal, Sport (Heavy).

Multimedia

Audio Control

• Volume: Raise or lower speaker volume.
• Seek/Preset: Change station.
• Mode: Change audio source.
• Mute: Mute sound.

Bluetooth Control

• Volume: Raise or lower speaker volume.
• Mute: Mute microphone during a call.
• Talk: Activates voice recognition.
• Call: Places and transfers calls. Press and hold to redial.
• End: Ends calls or cancels functions.

Bluetooth Operational Tips

Difficulty hearing may occur when Bluetooth volume is high, driving on rough roads with windows down, or when the air conditioning fan is at max speed. Keep Bluetooth volume low to reduce distortion and echo.

Voice Recognition Tips

Operate phones without taking eyes off the road. Performance may be affected by open windows, HVAC system, tunnels, or rough roads. Refer to Owner's Manual for complete commands.

Bluetooth Phone Pairing

Pairing tutorials, phone compatibility, and operational tips can be found via QR codes or at www.hyundaiusa.com/bluetooth.

Phone setup (pairing phone) with Audio:

1. Push the PHONE button.
2. Select "Phone" by rotating TUNE knob, then press to select.
3. Select "Pair" by rotating TUNE knob, then press to select.
4. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
5. Select "ELANTRA" on your mobile phone from the Bluetooth list.
6. Input passkey displayed on screen if applicable.
7. If prompted for phonebook access, check "Always allow" or "Don't ask again".

Phone setup (pairing phone) with Navigation:

1. Press the call button.
2. Press "YES" on the PHONE screen, then press "Connections".
3. Press "Add New" to pair a new mobile phone.
4. Enable Bluetooth on your phone. Input the passkey displayed (initial passkey is 0000).
5. If prompted for phonebook access, check "Always allow" or "Don't ask again".

Note: Vehicle must be in Park to complete pairing process.

Blue Link Telematic System

Press the button for access to voice-response menu of services. Options include "Main Menu" or direct selection of menu items. In-car commands include New Destination, Service Link, Roadside Assistance, Valet Alert, Help, and Cancel.

Remote Door Unlock/Lock (Blue Link Mobile App)

Download the Blue Link mobile app from Apple App Store or Google Play. Lock or unlock doors remotely via the app, by dialing a toll-free number, or using the owner's website.

• To use this feature, you must have a Blue Link Personal Identification Number (PIN).
• To create or change your PIN, log on to www.MyHyundai.com.

To Activate Remote Door Unlock/Lock:

• By Blue Link Mobile App: Select DOOR UNLOCK or DOOR LOCK. Enter your Blue Link PIN.
• By Phone: Dial toll-free 1-855-2BLUEINK.
• By Website: Log on to www.MyHyundai.com, click "My Blue Link", select Remote Door Unlock/Lock. Input your Blue Link PIN.

Standard Radio

• Tuning/Listening: Press Radio, rotate TUNE knob to desired channel.
• Setting Preset Memory Buttons (FM/AM/XM): Press and hold preset button (1-6) until audible beep.
• Adjusting Sound Control: Press SETUP, select "Audio", adjust Bass/Mid/Tre/Fad/Bal.
• Adjusting Brightness (Type B Only): Press SETUP, select "Display", select "Brightness".

Navigation

• Tuning/Listening to Channels: Press FM/AM or SAT, press TUNE button.
• Setting Preset Memory Buttons (FM/AM/XM): Press and hold preset button (1-6) until audible beep.
• Adjusting Sound Control: Enter SETUP menu, press button, use on-screen arrows to adjust.
• Selecting Track Through Search (CD/USB Mode): Press TUNE button to search, press ENTER to select.

Navigation Map

Press MAP button to display map position. Refer to Digital Navigation System User's Manual for details.

Navigation Destination Menu

Press DEST button to display destination menu:

• Favorites: Store favorite places.
• Address: Search destinations by state, city, street.
• Previous Destinations: Search and select previous destinations.
• POI (Point of Interest): Search for nearby POIs (Gas station, Restaurants, Emergency facilities).
• POI Name: Search POIs by name.
• Gas Station: Search for gas stations.
• Restaurants: Search for restaurants.
• Emergency: Search for emergency-related facilities.
• My Places: List of saved My Places.
• Phone Number: Search destinations by entering POI phone number.
• Intersection: Search destinations by selecting street intersections.
• Exit/Entrance: Search destinations by searching for expressway exits and entrances.
• Coordinates: Search destinations by entering latitude and longitude.

AUX, USB and iPod Port

Use the jack to connect an external audio device and listen through the vehicle's audio system speakers. Connect Apple-supplied USB cable to the USB port to operate iPod.

Seat Warmer

• Front seat: Push desired button to warm seat (OFF, HIGH, LOW).
• Rear seat: Push button to warm seat. Push again to turn off.

Clock Adjustment

• Standard Radio: Hour (H button) advances time by one hour. Minute (M button) advances time by one minute. Press H and M buttons simultaneously for over 5 seconds to toggle between 12- and 24-hour formats.
• Navigation: Press INFO/SETUP button, select SETUP, select Clock.

Automatic Transmission

Shift lever positions: P (Park), R (Reverse), N (Neutral), D (Drive). Depress brake pedal when shifting. Sport mode: Move shift lever from D to the left gate. Move lever forward (+) to upshift or rearward (-) to downshift.

Manual Transmission

Shifting into Reverse: Depress clutch pedal fully, ensure shifter is in Neutral. Press the reverse lock-out button and move shift lever left and forward into Reverse. Release clutch slowly.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

• Low Tire Pressure Indicator: Illuminates if one or more tires is significantly under-inflated.
• TPMS Malfunction Indicator: Blinks for approximately one minute then remains illuminated if there is a system malfunction. Have the system checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.

Note: Tire pressure may vary in colder temperatures causing the low tire pressure light to illuminate.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Helps maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. To turn ESC off, press the button (indicator illuminates). To turn ESC on, press again. System defaults to ON at start.

Active ECO System

• Automatic Transmission: Press Active ECO button to activate. Vehicle acceleration, gear shift points, and A/C performance are reduced for fuel efficiency. LED on button and ECO indicator illuminate.
• Manual Transmission: ECO symbol is displayed with current gear position, suggesting upshift or downshift for fuel efficiency.

To improve fuel efficiency:

• Drive smoothly and accelerate at a moderate rate.
• Avoid heavy accelerations.
• Maintain steady cruising speed.
• Adjust speed to traffic conditions and avoid speed changes.
• Avoid unnecessary braking.
• Keep tires inflated to recommended pressure.
• Do not idle the engine longer than necessary.

Rearview Camera

Activates when ignition is ON and shift lever is in R (Reverse). Displays image on rearview display.

Tire Mobility Kit

Setup:

1. Remove speed restriction label from sealant bottle and place on steering wheel.
2. Ensure compressor is OFF.
3. Screw compressor hose onto sealant bottle connector.
4. Insert sealant bottle into compressor housing.
5. Screw filling hose onto tire's valve stem.
6. Insert compressor power plug into vehicle's power outlet.
7. Turn ignition to ON or press Engine Start/Stop button twice.

Inflate Tire:

1. Switch ON compressor, run for approx. 5 minutes.
2. Switch OFF compressor, check pressure is over 32 psi. If not, puncture is too large; contact Hyundai Roadside Assistance.
3. Remove filling hose, compressor hose, and power plug.

Drive Vehicle:

Drive for approximately 6 miles or 10 minutes, no faster than 50 mph.

Recheck Tire Pressure:

1. Screw compressor hose directly to tire valve.
2. Insert compressor power plug into vehicle's power outlet.
3. Adjust to recommended tire pressure (on driver side door jam placard).
4. To increase pressure: Switch ON compressor.
5. To check pressure: Briefly switch OFF compressor.
6. To reduce pressure: Loosen knob on gauge. Tighten knob to set pressure.

Child-Protector Rear Door Lock

Insert key into hole and turn to Lock (allows opening rear door handle only from outside) or Unlock (allows opening from inside and outside).

Rear Seat Folding

Instructions for folding rear seats are typically found in the Owner's Manual.
