Visual Description: The controller is shown attached to a Mars Hydro inline duct fan, a cylindrical ventilation unit. The controller features a digital display showing current temperature, humidity, fan speed, and operational mode.
Controller Interface and Buttons
The controller features several key components:
- MODE BUTTON [Mode Button]: Cycles through available modes (ON MODE, OFF MODE, AUTO MODE, ALARM SETTING, TIMER MODE). A long press returns to the previous mode.
- UP BUTTON [Up Button] / DOWN BUTTON [Down Button]: Adjusts settings in any mode.
- LEAF BUTTON [Leaf Button]: Wakes the screen or locks/unlocks the controller when held for three seconds.
- PROBE TEMP/HUMIDITY: Displays current temperature and humidity measured by the connected sensor probe. If the probe is not connected properly, "---" is displayed.
- CONTROLLER MODE: Indicates the current operating mode.
- ALERT ICONS [Alert Icons]: Displays status such as alarms and screen lock.
- FAN SPEED: Shows the current fan speed or the speed it should be running at.
- SETTING [Setting]: Displays the value set for the current mode.
Mode Settings
Press the [Mode Button] to cycle through the following modes:
- ON MODE: Fans run continuously at a set speed, which also serves as the maximum speed in AUTO MODE.
- OFF MODE: Fans remain off. In this mode, [Up Button]/[Down Button] adjust display brightness (Settings: 1, 2, 3, A3). Setting A3 offers auto-dimming after 30 seconds of inactivity. Holding both buttons simultaneously switches between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
- AUTO MODE: The controller manages fan speed based on four programmable triggers: [High Temp], [Low Temp], [High Humid], and [Low Humid].
- ALARM SETTING: Configures alarms for [High Temp], [Low Temp], [High Humid], and [Low Humid] conditions.
- TIMER MODE: Fans run at the speed set in ON MODE for a user-defined duration. The timer counts down, and fans stop when it reaches zero. The countdown pauses if no buttons are pressed for 3 seconds and resumes when returning to TIMER MODE.
Detailed Mode Operations
AUTO MODE Triggers
[High Temp] Trigger: Set a high temperature threshold. Fans activate and gradually increase speed if the measured temperature exceeds the set point. Fans slow down and stop when the temperature drops below the set point. The trigger can be turned off by holding [Up Button] and [Down Button] simultaneously (display shows [OFF]). This trigger can operate even when other AUTO MODE triggers are being set. The setting method for [Low Temp], [High Humid], and [Low Humid] is consistent with [High Temp].
ALARM SETTING Triggers
[High Humid] Alarm: Set a high humidity threshold. If measured humidity exceeds this value, an alarm triggers, and the fan runs at maximum speed, overriding other settings. The alarm can be turned off by holding [Up Button] and [Down Button] simultaneously (display shows [OFF]). This alarm requires the controller to be in AUTO, ON, or TIMER mode to activate. The setting method for [Low Temp], [High Humid], and [Low Humid] alarms is consistent with [High Temp] alarms.
Important Notes and Alerts
Initial Setup: ⚠️ When using the controller for the first time, please remove the white tape attached to the metal probe.
Controller Lock: To prevent accidental setting changes, press and hold the [Leaf Button] for three or more seconds. While locked, only the ECO display is accessible by pressing the [Leaf Button]. Holding the [Leaf Button] for three or more seconds unlocks the controller.
[Temp Alarm Alert Icon]: This icon flashes when a set high or low temperature alarm is triggered.
[Humid Alarm Alert Icon]: This icon flashes when a set high or low humidity alarm is triggered.
