Connecting Your MagniFi Mini to Your TV
Step 1a: Check your TV's HDMI input.
Is there an HDMI input jack on your TV labeled "ARC"?
If YES: Use the provided HDMI cable to connect the sound bar to the TV's HDMI ARC port. (Note: Your TV MUST have an HDMI ARC input to use HDMI connection.)
If NO: Use the provided Optical cable to connect the sound bar to the TV's Optical output.
Step 1b: Alternative connection if no HDMI ARC or Optical input is available.
If your TV lacks HDMI ARC or optical output, connect the sound bar to the TV using the provided AUX cable. (Note: Only HDMI and optical inputs support Dolby 5.1 decoding.)
Initial Setup

Remote Battery Installation: Insert the provided AAA batteries into the remote control.

Connect Sound Bar Power: Connect the sound bar power cord to an AC outlet. A red LED on the front of the sound bar will pulse, indicating boot up.

Position and Connect Subwoofer: Place the subwoofer and connect its power cord to an AC outlet. For best performance, position the subwoofer on the same wall as the TV.
Subwoofer Pairing Note: The sound bar and wireless subwoofer are preset to work together. If the subwoofer loses its audio signal, re-establish the connection by following these steps:
- Turn on the sound bar. Simultaneously press and hold the Bluetooth button ⚙️ and the Source button ➔ on the sound bar for 3 seconds.
- Press and hold the SYNC button on the back of the subwoofer for 3 seconds.
- A green LED on the subwoofer will flash faster as it connects to the sound bar. The LED will turn solid green when connected.

Turn on Sound Bar: Press the Power button ⏻ on the sound bar or remote. Ensure TV internal speakers are turned off when using optical and AUX inputs.
Remote Control Overview
The remote control allows you to manage various functions:

- Master Volume: Adjust volume up (+) or down (-)
- VoiceAdjust: Isolate and adjust dialogue volume up (+) or down (-)

- Sound Modes: Movie Mode ?, Music Mode ?, Sport Mode ?♂️
- Night Effect ?: Reduces bass and volume dynamics for low-volume listening.
- Bass Control: Adjust bass volume up (+) or down (-)

WIFI LED: Indicates Wi-Fi connection status (Solid for connected, Flashing for not connected).
Sound Bar LEDs
A vertical row of LED lights on the sound bar provides status indications for source, volume, and listening modes. These include indicators for HDMI (TV ARC), OPT, AUX, Bluetooth ⚙️, Google Cast, ON ⏻, Night Effect ?, and Dolby Content ?.
Using Your TV or Cable/Satellite Remote (IR only) to Control the MagniFi Mini
You can program your MagniFi Mini to respond to your existing TV or cable IR remote. Follow these steps:
- Enter Learn Mode: Press and hold the Source button ➔ on the sound bar for 5 seconds until you hear a tone and the lights pulse.
- Select Command on Sound Bar: Press the button on the MagniFi Mini remote (or sound bar) for the command you wish to program (e.g., Volume Up).
- Program TV Remote Button: Press and release the corresponding button on your TV/Cable/Satellite remote repeatedly until you hear a two-note ascending tone, indicating the command has been learned. Ensure at least 1 second between button presses on your remote.
- Repeat for Other Commands: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to program other commands like Volume Down, Mute, and Power.
- Exit Learn Mode: Press and hold the Source button ➔ on the sound bar for 5 seconds to save all learned commands.
Note: A descending tone indicates a failed learning attempt. The system will exit learn mode after 1 minute of inactivity, saving any learned commands.
Optimizing Your Listening Experience
Bass Control
Easily adjust bass volume for more or less impact. Use the '+' button for 'More Bass' and the '-' button for 'Less Bass'. The 'DEFAULT LEVEL' is indicated.
VoiceAdjust™
Isolate and adjust the voice channel level to reproduce clear, crisp dialogue. Use the '+' button for 'Louder Voice' and the '-' button for 'Softer Voice'. The 'DEFAULT LEVEL' is indicated.
Listening Modes
- Movie Mode ?: Enhances audio reproduction in TV and movies.
- Music Mode ?: Enhances audio for music playback or TV/movies with prominent music.
- Sport Mode ?♂️: Enhances audio for sporting events, news, and talk shows.
- Night Effect ?: Reduces bass and volume dynamics while improving voice intelligibility for low-volume listening.
Music Services
How to Set Up Google Cast™
- Power on the sound bar.
- From your phone, tablet, or computer, visit chromecast.com/setup.
- Download the Google Home app. Click on the 'devices' tab within the app and select 'MagniFi Mini'. Follow the in-app setup instructions.
- When streaming with Google Cast, a white LED will appear on the sound bar.
To hear your TV again: When finished using Google Cast, press the Source button ➔ on the sound bar or remote (select TV ARC, OPT, or AUX as needed).
How to Set Up Bluetooth®
- To enable Bluetooth ⚙️, press the Bluetooth button on the sound bar. A blue LED will slowly pulse.
- On your phone, tablet, or computer, go to the Bluetooth devices section and select "Polk MagniFi Mini". The LED will turn solid blue when Bluetooth is connected.
Note: To take control when another device is connected, press the Bluetooth button ⚙️. To hear your TV again, press the Source button ➔ on the sound bar or remote (select TV ARC, OPT, or AUX).

FCC Statement
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement
This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment and should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.
FCC RF Warning
This equipment must be installed and operated according to provided instructions, ensuring antenna(s) provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and are not co-located with other antennas or transmitters. End-users and installers must be provided with antenna installation instructions and operating conditions for RF exposure compliance.
IC RF Radiation Exposure Statement
This device complies with Canada's portable RF exposure limit for an uncontrolled environment. Further RF exposure reduction can be achieved by keeping the product as far as possible from the user body or setting the device to a lower output power if available.
Canada, Industry Canada (IC) Notices
This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003. To reduce potential radio interference, antenna type and gain should be chosen such that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that permitted for successful communication. This device complies with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). It must not cause interference and must accept any interference received.
Radio Frequency (RF) Exposure Information
The radiated output power of the Wireless Device is below Industry Canada (IC) radio frequency exposure limits. The Wireless Device should be used to minimize potential human contact during normal operation. This device has also been evaluated and shown compliant with IC RF Exposure limits under mobile exposure conditions (antennas are greater than 20cm from a person's body).
Important Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all instructions. Do not use near water, clean only with a dry cloth, and do not block ventilation openings. Avoid installation near heat sources. Do not defeat the safety purpose of polarized or grounding-type plugs. Protect the power cord from damage. Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories. Use only with specified carts, stands, or tables. Unplug during lightning storms or long periods of disuse. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not expose to rain or moisture. The AC inlet is used as the disconnect device. Do not open the equipment to reduce the risk of electrical shock. No naked flame sources should be placed on the apparatus.
EU Compliance Information
This product is eligible to bear the CE mark and conforms to various European Union directives, including Low Voltage, EMC, RoHS, WEEE, Eco-Design, REACH, and R&TTE.
Polk declares that the MagniFi Mini Soundbar & Sub is in compliance with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC, adhering to standards such as EN 300 328, EN 301 489, and EN 62479.
1-Year Limited Warranty
Polk Audio warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the original retail purchase date, under normal use. Polk will, at its option, repair or replace defective products. If the model is unavailable, Polk may replace it with a current model of equal or greater value.

You will need to provide proof of purchase (original receipt or bill of sale) identifying you as the original purchaser and confirming purchase from an authorized Polk retailer. Ship the product, prepaid and insured, to Polk Audio, 1 Viper Way, Vista, CA 92081. Risk of loss or damage in transit is borne by the purchaser.
Warranty Limitations: This warranty is non-transferable and does not apply to products modified, used contrary to intended purpose, altered, or purchased from unauthorized dealers. It is void if the serial number is altered or missing, or if damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, or improper service. Cosmetic damage, paint damage, and consequential damages are not covered.
Polk does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. External conditions beyond Polk's control may affect performance. Polk may offer access to third-party content, but disclaims warranties for such content.
Legal Rights: This warranty grants specific legal rights, which may vary by state. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of incidental/consequential damages. Polk's maximum liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.
