Installation Guide
Main Components
- Double Wide Light Strips: Flexible LED strips designed for underbody illumination.
- AURA Control Box: The central unit that manages power and light patterns.
- Y-Splitters: Connectors used to branch out the wiring from the control box to multiple light strips.
- Hand Held Remote: A remote control for selecting colors, patterns, and brightness.
- Keychain Remote: A compact version of the remote control.
- Various Extension Wires: Cables to extend the reach of the light strips and control box.
- Power Harness with On/Off Switch: Connects the kit to the golf cart's power source and includes a main power switch.
Installation
Step 1: Planning and Layout
Decide where to position the light strips on your golf cart. Ensure that the wiring from the strips will reach the desired location for the control box.
Example Wiring Diagram Description:
The diagram illustrates a typical installation setup. The golf cart battery is connected to the control box via a fuse and the power harness. The control box then distributes power to multiple light strips through Y-splitters and extension wires. An auxiliary wire is shown, which can be connected to the golf cart's brake light wire to activate a specific lighting effect when the brakes are applied.
Aux Wiring for Brake Light: Connecting the auxiliary wire to the positive (+) wire of the brake light will cause the lights to sync with the brake light when the brake is engaged. The default color for this effect is red.
Step 2: Secure the Control Box
Mount the AURA control box in a secure, dry location using the provided Velcro or zip ties. It is crucial to protect the control box from moisture as it is not waterproof.
Step 3: Secure Light Strips and Wiring
Use the provided zip ties to neatly route and secure all wiring, ensuring it is kept away from moving parts of the golf cart. For the LED connectors, it is important to use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape to protect them from moisture and ensure their longevity.
Step 4: Select Colors and Patterns
Use the included E-Z Remote or Keychain Remote to customize your lighting experience. The remote allows for:
- Dimmer Control: Adjust the overall brightness of the lights.
- On/Off Switch: Turn the lighting kit on or off.
- Color Selection: Choose from various static colors and dynamic modes.
Remote Functions Overview:
- Single-Color Strobe: Cycle through colors and adjust strobe speed using the "Dimmer" buttons.
- Multi-Color Fade: Smoothly transition between colors and adjust fade speed using the "Dimmer" buttons.
- Multi-Color Cycle: Cycle through colors at adjustable speeds using the "Dimmer" buttons.
Specific Remote Buttons:
- A (ON/OFF): Powers the unit on or off.
- B (Color Selector): Selects from 16 different solid colors.
- C (Dimmer Up/Down): Adjusts brightness in 4 levels.
- D (Disable): Disables a specific function or mode.
