Prefix and Suffix Configuration

Hide Prefix or Suffix Digits: Characters at the start, middle, or end of a barcode can be hidden. After scanning the relevant hide barcode, scan a two-digit hexadecimal number for the length to hide (e.g., 04 for 4 characters).

  • Hide Barcode Start Chars: [Barcode: $SCAN#5]
  • Hide Barcode Middle Chars: [Barcode: $SCAN#7]
  • Hide Barcode Middle Char Start: [Barcode: $SCAN#6]
  • Hide Barcode End Chars: [Barcode: $SCAN#8]

Output Format: Scan one of the eight barcodes to change the scan data transmission format.

  • Default output format: [Barcode: $DATA#0]
  • Enable Prefix output: [Barcode: $DATA#2]
  • Enable Suffix output: [Barcode: $DATA#1]

To Hide Chars of Barcode Start/Middle/End:

Procedures:

  1. Scan the appropriate "Hide Barcode" symbol (Start, Middle Start, Middle length, End).
  2. Determine the hex value for the length to hide (e.g., 4 chars = 0,4; 12 chars = 0,C).
  3. Scan the 2-digit hex value from the "Numeric Bar Codes" section.
  4. Scan the desired "Output Format" barcode to enable or cancel the hide function.

Custom Prefix and Suffix

Up to 20 prefixes and 20 suffixes can be added for data editing. Set these by scanning double-digit hexadecimal numbers corresponding to ASCII values (refer to Table 1 and Numeric Bar Codes).

To Add a Prefix or Suffix:

  1. Scan the command barcode for "Add Prefix" or "Add Suffix".
  2. Find the prefix/suffix hex value in the ASCII Chart.
  3. Scan the 2-digit hex value from the "Numeric Bar Codes" section.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all desired prefixes/suffixes.
  5. Scan an "Output Format" barcode to enable or disable prefix/suffix output.
  • Add Prefix: [Barcode: $SCAN#2]
  • Clear All Prefix: [Barcode: $SCAN#4]
  • Add Suffix: [Barcode: $SCAN#1]
  • Clear All Suffix: [Barcode: $SCAN#3]

Numeric Bar Codes

Used for entering hex values for prefixes and suffixes. Examples include:

[Barcodes: $NO#0, $NO#1, $NO#2, $NO#3, $NO#4, $NO#5, $NO#6, $NO#7, $NO#8, $NO#9, $NO#A, $NO#B, $NO#C, $NO#D, $NO#E, $NO#F]

Example: Add "A" and "B" as prefixes and "!" as suffix

  1. Scan "Add Prefix" [Barcode: $SCAN#2].
  2. Prefix hex values: A="4","1"; B="4","2". Scan these from Numeric Bar Codes.
  3. Scan "Enable Prefix output" [Barcode: $DATA#2].
  4. Scan "Add Suffix" [Barcode: $SCAN#1].
  5. Suffix hex value: !="2","1". Scan these from Numeric Bar Codes.
  6. Scan "Enable Suffix output" [Barcode: $DATA#1].
  7. Result: AB123456789!

Example: Add "Ctrl+P" as suffix

  1. Scan "Add Suffix" [Barcode: $SCAN#1].
  2. Suffix hex values for Ctrl+P: "9","7","5","0". Scan these from Numeric Bar Codes.
  3. Scan "Enable Suffix output" [Barcode: $DATA#1].
  4. Scan "Keyboard Ctrl Combination Key" [Barcode].
  5. Scan the barcode 123456789.
