Functions and Operations
1.1 General Signals
[—] and [ V.MI ]: Squelch signals, are different, and used to mute the noise.
[—] and [ EXIT ]: Noise suppression, used to reduce noise.
1.2 Channel Mode Switching
[—] and [ A ]: Switch to frequency/channel. Long press [ A ]: Enter Menu.
[—] and [ V ]: Switch to channel mode. Long press [ V ]: Enter Frequency mode.
1.3 Radio and Hand-MIC Functions and Operations

1.4 Frequency Changing and Repeater Frequency Setting
In Frequency Mode, rotate the Frequency/Channel knob to change frequency. To set repeater offset, press [ A ] or [ V ] to select the desired offset direction (e.g., + or -). Press [ A ] or [ V ] to confirm.
1.5 Frequency/Channel Scanning
[—] and [ P1 ]: Press the P1 key to start scanning. The radio will scan through programmed channels or frequencies. Press P1 again to stop scanning.
1.6 Squelch Level Setting
[—] and [ P2 ]: Press the P2 key to adjust the squelch level. Rotate the knob to select a level from 1 (most sensitive) to 9 (least sensitive). Press P2 to confirm.
1.7 TX Power Setting
[—] and [ P3 ]: Press the P3 key to switch between High and Low TX power. Press P3 to confirm.
1.8 VOX Function
[—] and [ P3 ]: Press the P3 key to enter VOX setting. Rotate the knob to select the VOX sensitivity level (0-9). Press P3 to confirm.
1.9 Channel Storage
In Frequency Mode, set the desired frequency and parameters. Press [ A ] or [ V ] to enter Menu. Navigate to 'Channel Store'. Select a channel number and press [ A ] or [ V ] to save.
1.10 Channel Delete
In Channel Mode, select the channel to delete. Press [ A ] or [ V ] to enter Menu. Navigate to 'Channel Delete'. Select the channel and press [ A ] or [ V ] to confirm deletion.
1.11 Keypad Lock
[—] and [ EXIT ]: Long press the EXIT key to lock or unlock the keypad. A lock icon will appear on the display when locked.
1.12 Monitor Function
[—] and [ P1 ]: Long press the P1 key to activate the Monitor function, which opens the squelch to hear weak signals.
1.13 Squelch Tail Elimination (STE)
[—] and [ V.MI ]: Access STE settings via the Menu. Select ON or OFF to enable or disable the squelch tail elimination feature.
1.14 Busy Channel Lockout (BCLO)
[—] and [ EXIT ]: Access BCLO settings via the Menu. Select ON or OFF. When ON, the radio will not transmit if the channel is busy.
1.15 CTCSS/DCS Code Setting
[—] and [ A ]: Enter Menu. Navigate to 'CTCSS/DCS'. Select the desired code from the list. Press [ A ] or [ V ] to confirm.
1.16 DTMF Function
[—] and [ V.MI ]: Access DTMF settings via the Menu. Configure DTMF speed, code, and other parameters as needed.
1.17 Remote Control Function
[—] and [ EXIT ]: Access Remote Control settings via the Menu. Configure remote control functions such as remote kill, remote stun, and remote revive.
1.18 Emergency Alarm
[—] and [ P1 ]: Long press the P1 key to activate the Emergency Alarm function. This sends an alarm signal to other radios.
1.19 NOAA Weather Radio
[—] and [ V ]: Press the V key to switch to NOAA weather radio mode. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the desired NOAA channel.
1.20 GPS (Optional)
If your device is equipped with GPS, it can transmit location data. Access GPS settings via the Menu to configure GPS parameters, such as transmission interval and coordinate format.

1.21 Programming Software
To program the radio with custom settings, frequencies, and channel names, connect the radio to a computer using the programming cable and use the dedicated Radtel programming software. Refer to the software's help documentation for detailed instructions.
1.22 Resetting the Radio
To reset the radio to factory default settings, access the Menu. Navigate to 'Reset'. Select 'All Reset' and confirm. Warning: This will erase all user-programmed data.
1.23 Firmware Update
Periodically, firmware updates may be available from Radtel. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update to update your radio's software.
1.24 Troubleshooting
No Power: Ensure the battery is charged and properly connected. Check the power switch and volume knob.
No Transmission: Check if the PTT key is pressed. Verify the antenna is connected. Ensure the channel is not busy (BCLO enabled).
Poor Audio Quality: Check microphone connection. Adjust volume. Ensure the squelch level is appropriate.
Radio Not Responding: Try resetting the radio. If the issue persists, contact Radtel support.
