Important Information

• A Phillips head screwdriver is required for assembly.
• Do not use power tools for assembly.

Assembly Steps

Step 1: Unpack and Prepare

• Unpack all components from the packaging.
• Locate the fabric cover for the storage compartment.

Step 2: Attach Fabric Cover

• Attach the fabric cover to the storage compartment lid using the 4 clips provided. Ensure it is securely fastened.

Step 3: Secure Storage Compartment Lid

• Lift the storage compartment lid and secure it in the open position, ensuring the mechanism is fully extended.

Step 4: Attach First Backrest Panel

• Position the first backrest panel.
• Insert 2 long dowels/rods (part 108116) into the designated holes on the main frame, aligning them with the backrest panel.

Step 5: Slide Backrest Panel into Place

• Carefully slide the first backrest panel onto the dowels/rods, ensuring it sits flush against the main frame.

Step 6: Secure First Backrest Panel

• Secure the first backrest panel using 4 long screws/bolts (part 100033) with their corresponding nuts/caps (part 104864).
• Use the leveling tool (part 121030) to ensure a 5mm gap between the panel and the frame for proper alignment.
• Tighten the screws using the long L-shaped bracket/tool (part 108490).

Step 7: Attach Large L-shaped Brackets (First Section)

• Attach the 2 large L-shaped brackets (part 122464) to the frame.
• Secure them using 2 short screws/bolts (part 105102) and tighten with the L-shaped Allen key (part 100092).

Step 8: Stand Unit Upright

• With assistance, carefully stand the assembled section of the sofa upright.

Step 9: Attach Second Backrest Panel

• Position the second backrest panel.
• Insert 2 long dowels/rods (part 108116) into the designated holes on the main frame, aligning them with the second backrest panel.

Step 10: Slide Second Backrest Panel into Place

• Carefully slide the second backrest panel onto the dowels/rods, ensuring it sits flush against the main frame.

Step 11: Secure Second Backrest Panel

• Secure the second backrest panel using 4 long screws/bolts (part 100033) with their corresponding nuts/caps (part 104864).
• Use the leveling tool (part 121030) to ensure a 5mm gap between the panel and the frame for proper alignment.
• Tighten the screws using the long L-shaped bracket/tool (part 108490).

Step 12: Attach Large L-shaped Brackets (Second Section)

• Attach the remaining 2 large L-shaped brackets (part 122464) to the frame.
• Secure them using 2 short screws/bolts (part 105102) and tighten with the L-shaped Allen key (part 100092).

Step 13: Attach Conical Feet/Legs

• Attach the 7 large conical feet/legs (part 128865) to the underside of the sofa base.

Step 14: Attach Small L-shaped Brackets

• Attach the 2 small L-shaped brackets (part 128857) to the designated points on the sofa frame.
• Secure them using 2 small screws (part 118878) and tighten with the small L-shaped Allen key (part 100006).

Step 15: Attach Caster Wheel Assemblies

• Attach the 4 caster wheel assemblies (part 111401) to the pull-out section of the sofa bed.
• Secure each caster with 4 small screws (part 109566).

Step 16: Attach Cylindrical Pins

• Attach the 2 small cylindrical pins (part 117363) to the pull-out section of the sofa bed.
• Secure each pin with 2 small screws (part 109566).

Step 17: Insert Pull-Out Bed Mechanism

• Carefully insert the assembled pull-out bed mechanism into the main sofa frame. Ensure it slides smoothly into place.

Step 18: Place Cushions

• Place the 3 back cushions onto the sofa.

Using Your FRIHETEN Sofa Bed

Converting to a Bed:

1. Remove the back cushions.
2. Pull out the underframe section from beneath the sofa.
3. Lower the backrests to create a flat sleeping surface.
4. Adjust cushions as needed to form a comfortable bed.

Converting to a Sofa:

1. Lift the backrests back into their upright position.
2. Push the underframe section back into the sofa.
3. Place the back cushions back onto the sofa.
