IMPROPER USE

By improper use, we mean using the machine for uses which it was not specifically designed for, such as:

ERRONEOUS USE

By erroneous use, we mean the use of our machine without respect for the guidelines contained in the instruction and maintenance manual. Lack of respect for these guidelines can represent a risk of injury to both the operator and those persons nearby as well as a risk of serious damage to the machine itself.

Erroneous use, therefore, can constitute unsecured connections (including those of accessories supplied as optional extras), not using original spare parts, repairs undertaken by unauthorised or unqualified personnel, use of the machine for purposes it was not designed for (see improper use), lack of proper maintenance and use of the electrical power supply cable or the high-pressure tube to drag or haul the machine around.

Precautions

Before activating the high pressure cleaner, make certain that the water pressure and flow supply is correct (Pressure: min. 1 Bar – Max 8 Bar. Flow/Volume is greater that the pump flow); operating the machine with insufficient / no water supply can serious damage to the machine's waterproofing systems.

Following Transport and delivery, make sure that the pump oil housing transport plug is replaced with the breather plug. This is essential to ensure that air in the pump crankcase can expand and contract during operation.

To safeguard the security of the operator and of the machine, avoid making modifications to the machine without the written consent of the manufacturer.

If you notice any damage to the machine, do not use the machine and immediately inform the your supplier or an authorised technician.

During use, avoid covering the machine: if you consider it necessary to protect the machine, do it in such a way as to allow air to circulate freely in order to cool the pump, motor and engine.

In the event of a long pause / break during work from using the machine, turn off the machine and release the residual pressure.

The maintenance of this machine requires the use of a qualified person who, as well as having knowledge of this instruction manual, should be equally familiar with general safety guidelines as well as those measures specific to this machine.

For matters of repair, maintenance and tuning, we always recommend that you refer to a dealer or authorised technician.

Pre-Use Steps

Before using your V-TUF industrial pressure washer, it's essential to familiarise yourself with its operation and safety precautions. Here are some pre-use instructions:

  1. Check oil level and colour of oil: The oil level should be halfway up the sight glass. If the oil is milky, it means that oil is mixed with water.
  2. Ensure all unions, QR couplings are fastened and secure:
  3. Remove Pump Oil Transport plug from the pump and replace it with the breather plug: If the pressure is run with the transport plug, the increased pressure in the crank case will blow the seals when the temperature rises.
  4. Read the Manual: Always read the manufacturer's manual thoroughly before operating the pressure washer. It contains important information regarding setup, operation, maintenance, and safety precautions specific to your model.
  5. Inspect the Equipment: Inspect the pressure washer for any visible damage or signs of wear. Check hoses, connectors, nozzles, and the power cord for any damage. Do not use the pressure washer if you find any issues; repair or replace damaged parts before operation.
  6. Power Source: Ensure the pressure washer is connected to a suitable power source as specified in the manual. Use a grounded outlet and avoid using extension cords unless approved for outdoor and heavy-duty use.
  7. Water Supply: Connect the pressure washer to a clean water supply with adequate flow & pressure.
  8. Choose the Correct Nozzle: Select the appropriate nozzle for the cleaning task. Different nozzles produce varying spray patterns and pressures. Refer to the manual for guidance on which nozzle to use for specific cleaning applications.
  9. Familiarise with Controls: Familiarize yourself with the pressure washer's controls, including the on/off switch, trigger gun, pressure adjustment, and detergent settings.

MAINTENANCE

Regular Cleaning:

  1. Inspect Hoses and Connections: Periodically inspect hoses, connectors, and fittings for signs of wear, damage, or leaks. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately to prevent accidents or loss of pressure.
  2. Check Water Inlet Filter: Inspect and clean the water inlet filter to prevent blockages and ensure proper water flow to the pressure washer. Remove any debris or sediment from the filter and rinse thoroughly.
  3. Lubricate Moving Parts: Lubricate moving parts, such as trigger guns, wands, and swivels, as recommended by the manufacturer. Use lubricants suitable for high-pressure applications to ensure smooth operation and prevent premature wear.
  4. Examine Nozzles: Inspect the nozzles for signs of wear, damage, or blockages. Clean or replace any clogged nozzles, and ensure they are securely attached to the wand. Use the appropriate nozzle for the desired spray pattern and pressure.
  5. Check Pump Oil Level: If your pressure washer is equipped with an oil-lubricated pump, regularly check the oil level according to the manufacturer's instructions. Top up or change the pump oil as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  6. Inspect Electrical Components: If applicable, inspect the power cord, plug, and electrical connections for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any maintenance on electrical components.
  7. Store Properly: When not in use, store the pressure washer in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Protect it from extreme temperatures, moisture, and sunlight. Coil hoses neatly to prevent kinks and tangles.
  8. Schedule Professional Servicing: Consider scheduling regular professional servicing for your electric industrial pressure washer, especially if it is used frequently or in demanding environments. A qualified technician can perform thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of the equipment.

By following these maintenance instructions, you can prolong the life of your V-TUF industrial pressure washer and ensure reliable performance for years to come. Regular maintenance helps prevent breakdowns, reduces repair costs, and ensures safe operation. If you encounter any issues or have questions about maintenance procedures, consult the manufacturer's manual or seek assistance from a qualified technician.

IDENTIFICATION DATA

The position of the identification data of the machine

1) Identification of the machine according to EU directives.

[Image description: Two images of the V-TUF pressure washer, showing its overall structure, wheels, hose, and lance.]

ATTENTION:

Check that your VTUF240 high pressure washer has been provided with these identification details, if they have not been provided please inform your local dealer immediately.

Machines which have not been provided with these details MUST NOT BE USED, and should be considered anonymous and potentially dangerous.

It is obligatory that you ensure that the data label is always attached to the machine and clearly legible.

In case of damage, loss or illegibility, you should submit a written request to the manufacturer who will then provide you with a new one.

USE WITH CHEMICAL PRODUCTS

Turn the pressure washer off, put the relevant chemical nozzle head in the end of the lance, drop the chemical pick up into the chemical container. Turn the machine on and apply the chemical.

[Image description: A lance with various nozzle attachments shown. The nozzles are labeled with angles: 0°, 15°, 25°, 40°, and 'chem'. Icons above the lance suggest protective gear: a helmet, eye protection, gloves, and a suit.]

Best Practice for chemical application

When the pressure washer is detergent mode, pull the trigger and wait for the chemical to come through before applying the chemical to the surface.

Apply the chemical in horizontal overlapping stripes starting from the bottom and working up to the top of the object.

Flush Chemical out of the system with fresh water before storage.

Important Advice on Detergent Use

To safeguard the environment, we advise that only authorised detergents are used, that the recommendations of use and dosage are observed on the product labels, that detergent is used sparingly and remember that use of inappropriate detergent, as well as damaging the environment can damage the hot water cleaner as well as the objects being cleaned.

USE DETERGENTS WHICH ARE OVER 90% BIODEGRADEABLE.

Before sprinkling detergent over varnished areas with delicate colours, make sure that the surfaces to be treated are not hot, that the detergent has not dried and that the concentration of water / detergent is correct.

IMPORTANT: Rinse well.

Upon completion of operation, shut down the machine then squeeze the pistol lever until the residual water pressure has been expelled.

[Image description: Four bottles of V-TUF cleaning detergents: VTC120 (Wash & Shine), VTC620 (Wash & Wax), VTC320 (TFR), and VDG (D-GREEN).]

VTC120, VTC620,VTC320: Apply and then rinse well (do not allow to dry on surface). A good method is applying from the bottom up and rinse from the top down.

VDG (D-GREEN): Rinse off heavy soiling then apply and leave to dry (do not rinse off)

Detergent NOT suitable to be applied through pressure washers:

VTC520: This must not be used on painted surfaces and can only be pre-sprayed through a hand sprayer or painted on whilst wearing with hand protection and then can be rinsed off with a pressure washer.

LUBRICATION OF THE PUMP

For the models VTUF240 we recommend: V-TUF Pressure Lube PL500

You should change the oil after the first 50 hours of use, and after each subsequent 500 hours of operation.

[Image description: A bottle of V-TUF Pressure Lube PL500.]
