SpeedyBee Quick Start Manual
ARM & Modes
The quadcopter is pre-configured for switch or radio functions. Access the 'Modes' tab within the SpeedyBee App to test each function. A function activates when its corresponding yellow cursor is moved within the set range.
Available Modes:
- ARM: Controls the arming state of the motors.
- ANGLE: Enables Angle mode for stable flight.
- HORIZON: Enables Horizon mode.
- BEEPERON: Activates the beeper function.
- LED LOW: Controls the low LED setting.
The diagram shows a quadcopter from above, with motors labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4 in a clockwise arrangement, and an arrow indicating forward direction from motor 1 towards the front. ? Motor direction is reversed. To revert to default, disconnect BetaFlight, power on the drone.
DJI O3 Air Unit Binding
Ensure all devices are updated to the latest firmware versions before proceeding with linking.
The air unit must be linked to the goggles first, followed by the remote controller.
- Power on the air unit, goggles, and remote controller.
- Press the link button on the air unit and then on the goggles. The air unit's linking status indicator will blink red, and the goggles will beep continuously.
- Maintain a distance of 0.5 meters or less between the air unit and goggles. Upon successful linking, the air unit's indicator turns solid green, the goggles stop beeping, and the live view is displayed.
- Press the link button on the air unit again; its indicator will blink red. Press and hold the power button on the remote controller. The controller will beep continuously, and its battery level LEDs will blink in sequence.
- Ensure the distance between the air unit and the remote controller is within 0.5 meters. Once linking is successful, the air unit's indicator turns solid green, and the remote controller stops beeping.
How to bind Falcon
Follow these steps to bind your Falcon component.
- Turn on the FPV Goggles, Remote Controller, and the Quadcopter. Click the bind button on the FPV Goggles; a beep sound indicates the goggles are in binding status.
- Press the Falcon button; its light turns red, indicating Falcon is binding. When binding succeeds, the goggles will beep, the light will turn solid green, and the FPV Goggles will display live images.
- To initiate binding status on the controller, simultaneously press the C1 Custom Button, Record Button, and Right Scroll Wheel Button. A blue light will flash with beep sounds.
- Press the Falcon Bind Button; the light turns red, indicating binding. When binding succeeds, the Falcon light and the controller's light will turn green.
Visual indicators for binding status include a red light during binding and a solid green light upon successful binding.
First Usage Guidance
Download the 'SpeedyBee' app from Google Play or the App Store.
Power on the quadcopter and launch the SpeedyBee app. Search for the quad via Bluetooth. The app will present a first usage guidance. Follow the on-screen steps to bind your radio receiver, then enjoy flying!
TX800 Settings
The TX800 module features LED indicators for Channel, Band, and Power.
- Blue LED (Channel): Constantly ON indicates the current frequency point is Channel 1. OFF indicates the current frequency point is one of Channel 2 through Channel 8.
- Red LED (Band): Will keep blinking during setup, not used for indicating current Band information. Constantly ON indicates the current band is Band 1. Constantly ON indicates the current band is one of Band 2 through Band 6.
- Orange LED (Power): Will keep blinking, not used for indicating current Power information.
- Light OFF: 25mW
- Blinking once in 2 seconds: 200mW
- Blinking once in 1 second: 400mW
- Constantly ON: 800mW
- Blinking twice in 1 second (fastFlash): PIT mode
Power Setup (Lock & Unlock)
The factory default setting is LOCK mode with the red LED blinking, providing only 25mW power. To switch to UNLOCK mode, long-press the button for 10 seconds. In UNLOCK mode, the red LED will be constant ON or OFF, not blinking.
Note: Before unlocking the VTX, it is highly recommended to familiarize yourself with your country's regulations regarding frequency usage to avoid fines or confiscation.
How to bind TBS Nano RX
Follow these steps to bind the TBS Nano RX receiver.
- Press and hold the bind button on the TBS Nano RX receiver, and power on the quad simultaneously. Release the bind button; the receiver's green light will blink rapidly. Then, long-press the bind button again for 8 seconds until the green light turns off and the red light blinks slowly. At this point, a dialog box asking 'Update Micro TX?' will appear on the radio screen; select '[ENTER]'.
- Binding will proceed automatically after the update. Upon successful binding, the screen will display "Binding OK", and the receiver will show a solid green light.
The TBS NanoRX features a bind button and an indicator light. Diagrams illustrate the binding process, showing the receiver in a 'Binding' state and a 'Binding Succeeded' state with corresponding LED colors.
ELRS Binding
Before binding, ensure the firmware of the module and receiver are consistent. If not, use the SpeedyBee APP to update firmware.
- Power the drone on and off three times to enable the receiver's binding mode. When the receiver's LED flashes twice quickly, it indicates the receiver has entered binding mode.
- For the RadioMaster TX16S remote controller, power it on and long-press the SYS button to access the TOOLS interface. Navigate down, select 'ExpressLRS', then select 'Bind' and press Enter.
- When the receiver displays a solid LED, binding is successful.
Diagrams show that the LED blinks twice during binding and is solid when binding is successful.
Check before take off
Perform these checks before flying your drone:
- Inspect the drone for broken parts or damage. Conduct further checks or repairs if needed.
- Confirm propellers are installed in the correct direction and screws are securely locked.
- Ensure the battery is fixed by the strap. Adjust or fix it for balance to prevent interference with propellers.
- Check the battery voltage. A fully charged battery should show 16.8V for a 4S or 25.2V for a 6S.
- Turn on the controller and select the correct model. Ensure the arming switch is set to "disarmed" and the throttle is at its lowest position.
- Turn on the FPV Goggles or screen to check for any interference.
- After powering the drone, test arming in a safe distance (at least 3 meters) and verify propellers work normally.
- Take off in a safe area clear of people, and enjoy your flying!
