Product Description

The HBG-160P series is a 160W AC/DC PCB type LED driver featuring a circular shape design. It operates from a wide input voltage range of 90~305VAC and offers dual mode constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) output models with rated voltages between 36V and 60V. With high efficiency up to 93.5% and a fanless design, the series is capable of operating in ambient temperatures from -40°C to +45°C under free air convection. The HBG-160P is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, to provide optimal design flexibility for LED lighting systems.

Block Diagram

The block diagram outlines the internal components and signal flow of the HBG-160P series LED driver. Input power (AC/L, AC/N) and ground (FG) are processed through an EMI filter, followed by a Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit and a power switching stage. Rectifiers and filters handle the output stage, delivering power to the LED load. Protection circuits including Over Temperature Protection (OTP), Over Load Protection (OLP), Over Current Protection (OCP), and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) are integrated for safe operation. The system operates at a switching frequency of 100KHz.

Driving Methods of LED Module

The 'Driving Methods of LED Module' section explains that the HBG-160P series can operate in Constant Current (CC) mode for direct LED driving or Constant Voltage (CV) mode, often requiring an additional DC/DC driver. Dimming Operation

The HBG-160P series, particularly the B-Type models, offers '3 in 1 dimming' functionality. This allows for adjustment of the output constant current level using one of three methods: 1-10VDC, 10V PWM signal, or resistance, applied between the DIM+ and DIM- terminals. Direct connection to LEDs is recommended, and it is not suitable for use with additional drivers. The dimming source current from the power supply is typically 100μA.

1-10VDC Dimming: A graph illustrates the relationship between output current (%) and the additive voltage input (1V to 10V). Users are advised not to connect DIM- to -V.

10V PWM Signal Dimming: A graph shows output current (%) versus the duty cycle of an additive 10V PWM signal (frequency range 100Hz-3KHz). Users are advised not to connect DIM- to -V.

Additive Resistance Dimming: A graph displays output current (%) against additive resistance values (e.g., 10KΩ/N to 100KΩ/N, where N represents the number of synchronized drivers). Users are advised not to connect DIM- to -V.

ON/OFF Control: A wiring diagram demonstrates how a switch and relay can be used in conjunction with an adjuster to control the ON/OFF state of the lighting fixture. The diagram shows connections for AC input (AC/L, AC/N), ground (FG), and the HBG-160P B-Type's dimming terminals (DIM+, DIM-) and output terminals (V(-), V(+)).

Output Load vs. Temperature: The 'Output Load vs. Temperature' graph shows the maximum permissible output load percentage as a function of ambient temperature (Ta in °C) for different input voltages (100VAC, 230VAC). Efficiency vs. Load: The 'Efficiency vs. Load' graph, also for the 48V model, displays the efficiency percentage as a function of load percentage for input voltages of 115V, 230V, and 277V. The HBG-160P series is noted for its high working efficiency, reaching up to 93.5%.

Mechanical Specification
